  • Over the last 5 or 6 years Larry's health only allowed him to perform occasionally. When he did do concerts he tried to make them extra special and some fans travelled from across the globe to attend. Here, Larry is backed by his brother's band, Guards of the Metropolis with special guests including Gary Pomerory (People reunion 1974), Dan Cutrona, Mark Lemhouse, and Pixies frontman Frank Black.

Normans influence on Frank Black is really something. Frank would turn around and influence so many people.

Larry's music was very inspirational to me in high school back in the mid 70s.
Whatever problems he was involved in are now in the past, I hope he made his peace with the Creator and anyone who he had bad blood with.
Larry's music touched many lives, lead many to Salvation and trust in the Most High.
I hope, his music lives on to continue touching many more in these last days

he did I recall seeing his interview from the hospital bed. I also corresponded with Randy Stonehill who confirmed - and that he and Larry had resolved their differences long before his death

Huge Pixies / Charles Thompson IV fan here. Also a fan of Larry Norman's music. Seen the Pixies 3 times. This is a great collab, would have loved to see them work together on an album.

Larry and Frank Black (and others) collaborated on the Thiftstore Masterpiece album put together by Larry's brother Charles - Trouble Is A Lonesome Town. Frank Black stayed on a did a few other songs on guitar with the band that night. Charles played and toured with Frank Black for a while too.

Bought People! cover of Zombies "I Love You"when I was 10 yrs. old.. Played it every day with my cheesy drum set. I didn`t know who Larry Norman was, but I knew the song was good.

Fairly sure this was 2004 or 2005 in Salem at the Elsinore Theatre - there is a dvd and was also a double album from this gig.

@@dougieadam1 If so, i was there. Had no clue who the special guest, Frank Black, was at the time. I think I was hoping for Randy Stonehill. Didn't know about possible bad blood, just the song for a small circle of friends where Larry mentions the friends he hopes to jam with in Heaven.
