Gates Of Lodore Packrafting - 850cfs

- June 2021 packrafting trip down the Gates of Lodore. With the historic drought in the Colorado Basin, Flaming Gorge has been forced to reduce the flows of the Green to just 850 cfs. Flows that low make for a rough trip in big rafts, but it's perfect in a packraft (and one Mini-Max). Thanks to Brandon and Scott for rallying on 3 days notice after scooping up a cancelation.

Beautiful pictures! Recently got into packrafting and looking forward to exploring all of Swedens gems!
My favorite packrafting video to date, and I've watched many. Wish I had buddies to go packrafting with, but alone is fun too. Just not as safe :)
wow, you can really compose a frame man! Some incredible shots all the way through
Cheers, thanks Huw!
Another masterpiece Mr. Dan! The lightning bolt around 1:08 and the gathering storm was incredible! Plus, you always seem to find the perfect music to fit the mood. Two thumbs up and 5 stars!!!
Appreciate that Michael!
Incredible
Great beautiful video! Thanks for sharing.
Another breathtaking video Dan. So inspiring for my own future packrafting adventures.
Great Tour with beautyful picture. Please Tell je, what Kind of Packraft (red) you use. King ragards from germany.
It's an Alpacka Forager.
@@DanRansom Thanks
Nice! Assume you just knelt in the Forager in the rapids? No thigh straps or anything? How did it handle paddling solo compared to the smaller one person boats? Great video!
Would you condsider a doing this at even lower flows?
As far as I know this is as low as it goes because it's the minimum released from the dam.
Thank you.@@DanRansom Very nice vid.
Every video you put out is incredible! What are you shooting on for a video like this?
Thanks Ethan. This was shot on a Panasonic GH5 with Leica 12-60 lens. Wildlife is on the 100-300. Makes for a nice compact system on packraft trips.
Very nice Video. Greetings ronactive
Is April too early to try this trip? Thanks.
April can definitely work for this trip but it can be very cold still. Just depends, every year is a bit different I think.
Nice man. Plenty of scenery to go around. Just turn the camera on and pick a direction.
Rivers are already Great! Red Hats aren't!
