I watched this imagining my son hadn't drowned. Two days after turning 16, my son drowned while I was preparing for his birthday. If I hadn't viewed him and had him cremated, I might have allowed myself to fantasize that he survived. It was 5 years this last Wednesday, and last Monday, my son Devin would have turned 21. What I wouldn't give to be able to spend another day with him. I would have freaked him out by just staring and smiling at him the whole time. I really loved the day they had together. My son gathered a whole bunch of crawdads for me when he was younger and cooked them up , melted some butter, and we ate them together . And when they hugged, I imagined me and my son hugging.❤My son was a really sweet, loving, funny, and smart young man. He was swept away by the current and held under an outcropping of rocks 10 feet down. Enjoyed the movie. Thank you❤
he kidnapped their son and took him away from his mother for 14 years, faked their deaths, and lied to their son about his mother being "dead". "Happy family" my ass, the father was horrible and selfish, what he did, deprived a young 4 yr old boy from his mother and the mother of her son is one of the cruelest things you could do to a parent and child. Kristen was too soft on her ex-husband, if my ex husband had stolen my son away from me and faked their "deaths" and robbed me of 14 years of my life with my son, I would've handed his sorry ass to the police and have him rot in jail!
@@miladydewinter7770the woman was so selfish, child is belong to both parents but I’ve seen lots of woman doing that to the the children and the father!
Awesome movie, glad that the mother reunited with her son, after 14yrs of heartache. A very touching story, thank you for sharing this great movie. 👍💯❤️❤️❤️
Surprisingly I didn’t cry at the expected scenes. I cried when Matthew told Chris about his mom and there was no can’ t in the dictionary. The one I really felt bad for was Matthew. Great movie!
sorry, a mother never have UNCONDITIONAL Love. Her love is always based on IDENTIFICATION with the 3D and the Child as HER SELF she think and feel. But sure its one of the biggest expressing of Love on our Platform 3D...
Exactly, I am a woman and I could never understand why divorced women try to take away their children from their father by not having equal share custody. That is selfish and is usually the thing that drives men crazy.
what the husband did was absolutely cruel, taking a 4 yr old boy away from his mother and lied for 14 years was selfish and disgusting. Whatever reason the mother wanted a divorce, if she had gotten custody she still would've given the father visitation rights, she still would've granted the father access to their son in the divorce. In reality even when the mothers have full custody of the children, the fathers are still at least granted visitation rights and are still able to see their children and be in their children's lives. I was raised by a single mother, my mother had full custody of me after my parents divorced, but I was still able to see my father regularly and he was still very much a part of my life growing up. But in the movie the father decided to kidnap his son and steal their son away from the mother, depriving mother & son 14 precious years they would've had together, all because of his own selfishness, children need their mothers. What the father did was even more disgusting. I can't believe that there are women and mothers out there who actually sympathise with the father
I really enjoyed this film because of the beauty of the scenery, the beauty of the actress who incarnated the mother and a mother's love for her son.The Oz would be Casanova was hilarious; could be considered cheesy but he was straightforwards in his attempted pick up lines and a good bloke inside.
It's good to see a film that is quite dramatic without guns, people being beaten to a pulp and ridiculously beating everyone else. Beautifully filmed, great cast, yeah liked it.
I've travelled a lot and never heard of anyone going abroad without a passport! They are scanned...you can't scan an old birth certificate. It would be easy enough to look up to see if she ever had one. I know it was meant to show her determination, but it wouldn't happen. And if it were me, I would have run to my son the minute I saw him on the boat!! Even at four he should remember how his mother looked, smelled, felt like. He could remember a phrase his mother said but not recognize her standing there in front of him?
he was 4 years old, and barely remember his mother, growing up he had no photos of his mother, nothing physical to remind him of her, all he had were vague memories, but he was so young at the time. Sometimes it's easier for children to remember someone by the activities they did with that person than how they looked like, especially if they grew up not having any mementos of that person to remember them by. And let's not forget that since he was 4 years old his father had always told him that his mother had "died", and he grew up believing that lie, it probably never crossed his mind that this woman standing in front of him is his mother. But I do agree with you about the passport situation, I find it hard to believe that you could travel abroad without a passport.
That was a good movie. It brought out my Motherly feelings and knew how the character must have longed for her Son. No violence was nice, great movie 🎉😊
I like when she told him at the age of 4, there's no such word in the dictionary can't, so so she told take a deep breath and BLOW ALL THE CANTS AWAY.😊❤❤
Great movie. I liked the father's character too. Although he commited a selfish act, he brought up his son really well and much credit goes to him for that.
Great movie. I felt the everlasting love of the mother for her son. Likewise i felt the great love his dad had as well, the reason behind all of these heartaches were the irony divorce brings to the family...

Little man grew up to become a well-mannered young man. What his dad did was wrong. However, I understand why. Some mothers need to understand that they do not have a monopoly on parental love and care. So, they should not separate a loving father from his child or children. Great movie upload. 😍👌🏾
At no point did i get the impression that she wanted to separate him from his son. She did tell him however that she didn't want to be married to him or work things out.
She shouldn't have cut off the father from the son. Sadly, that's what most estranged women do. I wanted the father in the life of my sons but he didn't want to. 😢
What a good movie, I absolutely loved it❤️ I wish there was a part 2 of it!!!! I'd love to know what happened to the dad and if the son got used to living in the city and how everything went from then on! I know it's just a movie but still!
Yes, I hope there will be a part 2. The movie is not finished. There are prblems with mother, step father and his children and returning to civilization. I am favoring Dad.
Second time watching too... When a mother loses her child, it's more than a nightmare. But I believe God leads a troubled mother to find lost her child, because God always sees our hearts.
Great movie and it sure touched my heartstrings.😪 I can understand why divorce is most hated, since it breaks up the family unit, and especially if theres children involved. Thereby causing so much heartache and suffering in the process .
A good movie, I agree with the other comments, it definitely needed a part 2. I also would love to know, what happened to the Dad & if the son settled living in the City & if he got on well with his Step Father and above all did the Son & Father meet up again. So much more twists and turns could have happened in part 2
I wish I could find my Son who was only 6 months old when he died and everything that was me died with him. I've never been the same since. My baby would've been 23 years old on July 21. I still miss him dearly and I wish he was still here. This was a great movie ❤!
Seeing that boy being so nice & spending time with her mother without knowing she was the mother breaks my heart, it all seems so real🥲 And how can a father take away his son from her mother for so long??? That is so cruel🥲As a mother I would never, ever do that to my children & my children’s father.
I didn't fight for my daughter because I didn't have the resources that her father did. And she believed the many lies he told her. Very long story, but he finally turned his back on her, but not until I'd moved out of state. My heart still breaks a little every single day. I am so glad she married a fine young man and they now have two wonderful little girls. I can only afford to go see them once a year.💔
Nah not cruel it's Christine's fault ungrateful for her ex husband sacrifices while she goes to slaw school, Then she damps Quinn after finding another man. Typical of white woman. not contented with one man.

Gabrielle Anwar and Craig Sheffer, actors who have portrayed parents in this movie, have been partners in a real life and had a beautiful daughter. Their romantic life together took a dive, but later, Sheffer became a godfather to Anwar’s other two children. They are a lifelong friends. We may understand a motivation behind someone’s actions, but there is no justification for a child’s abduction/kidnapping
This is all to common as it happens from the other side (by one parent against the other) - mostly by women leaving a relationship & taking the children with them and if there had been NO MARRIAGE - the Mum simply vanishes - leaving a grieving dad without any contact whatsoever. In smaller communities, that usually means the woman moves towns / cities (even countries), taking the unsuspecting small child/children with them (on her documents as they are her natural children see) and simply vanish from the dad's ability to find them The small children (mostly 4 & under, being easily convinced with memories that fade fast) - will be told over & over again, fibs (lies) Oh - your Daddy doesn't love you & HE left (so we couldn't afford the rent and had to move out) Or your daddy had a bad accident & died .. (so we still couldn't pay the rent & had to move out) Without anyone around to tell them the real truth - LITTLE CHILDREN always believe the lies their Mum tells them, about how bad their dad was (which he wasn't) Or that they should try & remember him (making sure she doesn't keep any photographs of him for them to remember with) !!! Children grow up and forever think the MUM was telling them the truth. Sometimes Dads find their children and all hell breaks loose when the now older child realises they have been conned by their MUM, but still assume what Mum said was true - so they feel NOTHING towards either parent. Sometimes, a child is given up for adoption (mostly by the woman) when the dad vehemently opposes this, as he has then been refused after requesting to be married, or at the very least to been given custody with sharing rights etc., to be told nah - they MUST lose their child/children forever - as (apparently it's taken as gospel) that decision is ONLY the Mothers SOLE RIGHT> As only a Mother can CHOSE to dispose of a child at any time (even if the child has TWO living parents, one who loves them but isn't allowed any rights, and the other who gives consent to the adoption as SHE thinks it's best). NEVER EVER - should anyone judge a parent, not the one being a left behind, nor totally vow that the who has become the "taking parent" (the one taking/kidnapping or giving the child away) - by stating one is good and the other is an evil sod. As most Mums aren't evil sods, they just do NOT THINK that the Dad (natural or adoptee) has any rights whatsoever. Whereas: Dad's sometimes (in complete distress) whisk away their children, believing sometimes correctly, that a divorce will strip them of their parental rights, and that they WILL forever lose access to their child/children, so taking with - and disappearing seems (at the time) to be a good idea, given that they will absolutely lose all rights to their child - when found & caught. Divorce at any time is highly stressful, especially to the (remaining) parent who has LOST the love of their life, through no fault of their own, then to discover - that before the divorce is finalised - their child / children have been "removed" (removed is probably the politest word) by the other parent - such that they will LOSE all access (and worse, discover hat they will have no right to remarry - as the divorce & custody matters, cannot be finalised, if the papers cannot be signed - because the other parent has vanished with the children). HE - SAID - SHE - SAID - THEY - SAID - ? Means absolutely nothing, to any small child who is brainwashed into believing, that their other parent died, or left / fled without them. The child always believes the parent they are WITH - as they cannot ask the one that isn't there - ?"why"? WHY being the Why - of: Why did that (other) parent leave them behind? Many children of divorce - BLAME THEMSELVES - as if there was something they could have done to save a marriage Many children grieve thinking one parent has LEFT - because they didn't love the child (again the child can sometimes think it's their fault) Children will always GRIEVE (and at 1st try to remember then later will try to forget - if they were told a parent has died !!) Divorce has many casualties - and it's always the other (left behind) person's fault. No respect given to the child who NEEDS to remember - when it should have been placed onto the parent THEY left behind.

In smaller communities, that usually means the woman moves towns / cities (even countries), taking the unsuspecting small child/children with them (on her documents as they are her natural children see) and simply vanish from the dad's ability to find them
The small children (mostly 4 & under, being easily convinced with memories that fade fast) - will be told over & over again, fibs (lies)
Oh - your Daddy doesn't love you & HE left (so we couldn't afford the rent and had to move out)
Or your daddy had a bad accident & died .. (so we still couldn't pay the rent & had to move out)
Without anyone around to tell them the real truth - LITTLE CHILDREN always believe the lies their Mum tells them, about how bad their dad was (which he wasn't)
Or that they should try & remember him (making sure she doesn't keep any photographs of him for them to remember with) !!!
Children grow up and forever think the MUM was telling them the truth.
Sometimes Dads find their children and all hell breaks loose when the now older child realises they have been conned by their MUM, but still assume what Mum said was true - so they feel NOTHING towards either parent.
Sometimes, a child is given up for adoption (mostly by the woman) when the dad vehemently opposes this, as he has then been refused after requesting to be married, or at the very least to been given custody with sharing rights etc., to be told nah - they MUST lose their child/children forever - as (apparently it's taken as gospel) that decision is ONLY the Mothers SOLE RIGHT>
As only a Mother can CHOSE to dispose of a child at any time (even if the child has TWO living parents, one who loves them but isn't allowed any rights, and the other who gives consent to the adoption as SHE thinks it's best).
WHY being the Why - of:
Why did that (other) parent leave them behind?
Many children of divorce - BLAME THEMSELVES - as if there was something they could have done to save a marriage
Many children grieve thinking one parent has LEFT - because they didn't love the child (again the child can sometimes think it's their fault)
Children will always GRIEVE (and at 1st try to remember then later will try to forget - if they were told a parent has died !!)
Divorce has many casualties - and it's always the other (left behind) person's fault.
No respect given to the child who NEEDS to remember - when it should have been placed onto the parent THEY left behind.
That was a good move , there is always hope if you never give up. ❤😊👍
