Berger Chevrolet (The Grand Rapids MI Muscle Car Dealer of the 60’s) Sponsored building this performance/show car Dubbed “project DZ-74” inspired by the original IROC series Race cars that began in 1974 for the original owner. 1st shown at the Grand Rapids Auto Rama January 2009. The car has been a trailer queen since and only been driven about 2,000 miles.
Exterior: Berger Chevrolet prepared the Z/28’ Type LT Rust-free body. They smoothed it out and grafted a functional ’80 cowl scoop onto the ’74 hood. Painted in its original midnight blue with multi-color accent stripes. The car is Laser straight and glossy top to bottom. Up front it has the removable IROC spoiler and Marchel headlights. A set of 17-inch polished Team III Minilite wheels dress it up. 8-inch-wide in front, 9 inch in back with performance tires. All original glass as well.

Nice ! I owned a car identical to this one in 1980. Daily driver (as everyone did during that time) . I put the 1970 Z 28 wheels on it and really made it pop. The type LT (Luxury Touring) was a rare bird and not many were made. Of course I wish it back all the time. But, during the day, new ones were always more exciting and made it easy to part with. Sold it in 1983 with 106K on it for $1,900. HA !
Nice clean car, especially the interior. A twelve bolt would be better, but hey, my '68 had a ten bolt that I had to replace too, so not the end of the world. Man, that's a thick sway bar in the rear. Good.
