- Hey!! I hope you're all well and getting excited for Xmas :-)
I thought I'd update you all on how this is going, I know so many of you are going through similar things so wanted to share.
Please remember I'm not a doctor so this isn't medical advice, I'm just sharing my own personal experiences.
Thanks so much for watching and wish me luck xxx
Hi I struggled with all the horrible symptoms when I was in my early 40 I am 53 now and started HRT 12 months ago it totally gave me my life back wish I had thought about HRT earlier but just didn’t realise what was going on I am so happy that it’s talked about more now thankyou for chatting about your HRT journey I know it will help lots off people
what are you prescribed!
Did you put on weight ?
Hey Nikki. I just started HRT last week. Always loved your videos, SW etc so it's great to see you doing HRT chats and educational stuff. Thank you and God bless you for this great work you do xx
Amazing you have done this, thank you! I had a hysterectomy at 30 and have been on HRT since, I’m 43 now. My dose never got reviewed in all that time until recently when I felt it wasn’t working anymore! As a woman I really feel like we have to fight harder to be heard by medical professionals and it shouldn’t be that way! I’m glad people are now talking about the menopause more, it can feel like you’re all alone going through it. Xx
I’m so glad you have made this video because it makes me feel so much better!!! Iv been feeling off for a couple of years now but symptoms have progressively gotten worse in the last 6-7 months. I am only 37 so really struggling with the idea! My mum went through early menopause at 35 and ended up with a hysterectomy at 40 and died at 50 so my emotions around all of this are just astronomical!! I’ve been prescribed HRT patches today but all my bloods have come back within normal levels so I’m torn as to wether to start them but I also know something isn’t right and I have to do something! I spose I just want a solid answer which no one can give me so don’t know what to do for the best. It’s just nice to see I’m not the only one going through this so thank you xxx
Dee Wilson Nobody can give you the answers? What about your doctor? You know this lady is not a specialist, right?!?
Progesterone did cause bloating for me but it did settle down after a couple of months . I fully agree with you about the testosterone issues. Disgraceful that woman are having such a problem to get this on prascription. When we need it . Good luck hope you feel the benefits soon x
Hi I’m taking HRT in the patches and I too have found the progesterone is making me bloated and have lots of water retention and my pms has got worse too I’ve been taking for 8 weeks now I’m really hoping it settles too 🙏
I only started hrt 3 weeks ago but I can already see a difference. Did you know you can also take progesterone in the form of a patch. I only have patches and for two weeks it’s an oestrogen only patch then for two weeks it’s both hormones in the patch.
Hi. I started the gel about 3 months ago. Now have 4 pumps just before bed. Still wasn't sleeping. Not sleeping was my biggest problem. The other symptoms were manageable. I finally decided to have the coil fitted (my periods were like my teenage years🥺). 6 weeks later and fingers crossed all is well. Still irritable though. And I'm getting more sleep yippee. Definitely trial and error!
Thanks for sharing Nikki...ive been on hrt for over 2 years (I'm 45) and it's made such a difference. I'm starting to think i might need testosterone. I need to see a more specialised menopause doctor as my GP has so little interest...
So why is it when you lose estrogen you put in weight and then when you take estrogen in HRT you put in weight, anyone know??
Hiya ! Im louise 45 nearly and started on HRT today
How's it going?
43 and think my perimenopause started 3 years ago, debilitating heart palpatations and chest anxiety, high cholesterol even without any dietary changes (54kg) and some of the more common symptoms now. Patch on, and palpatations stopped within 3 hours, calmed my body
Just starting Bijuve today for PCOS & peri menopause. Fingers crossed it helps get rid of my over grown belly 😊
I am on Hrt for 6,5 weeks now. I only take estrogen because I have mirena for progesteron. First 4 weeks were great, I felt fantastic. Last two weeks symptoms came back hard and I got an increase in dose. Do you recognize a set back after increase? And how long does is take to get settlement (again)?
I got hrt for Anxiety and panic attacks and frequent crying. I am 47 and had a major burn-out before so docters thought Anxiety came from that. But gynae thinks (peri) menopauzes had something to do with it. Hope to get the balance in my life back.
If you have premenstrual symptoms you can take progesterone daily even if in perimenopause. It can help mood swings.
With regard to the spots that's testosterone, you may need to decrease your testosterone dose a little x
Hi Niamh, you mean continuous HRT instead of sequential? I am taking progesterone only during the second half of the cycle, but as soon as I quit I get full-blown PMS and migraines... Would you happen to know where I can find more info on what to do in that case? 😮😊 Thanks! 😊
estrodial patch at 50mg?! or .05?
My GP can’t prescribe Testosterone, how did you get yours prescribed for you? There are some online doctors who will prescribe but at an inflated cost of £149. Louise Newson prescribes but you have to be a patient beforehand. Thank you
Yes that’s right. I had to get it privately prescribed and it was very expensive sadly x
@@NikkiRyan so frustrating. Your video has prompted me to make an appointment with Louise Newson. Wish me luck!x
Have you done any more updates on HRT? I wondered how you get on
My NHS doctor is happy to prescribe. Doctors can prescribe testosterone, but they generally don’t unless they are up to date on menopause.
I honestly don't know what symptoms to expect but other than hot flushes I am not suffering too much. I am 45 🤷
At 46.5 mine started with joint pain in my joints, headaches, I couldn’t bend, lift, etc like I usually could, memory loss, fatigue,…my period got really light too
My symptoms didn't start until this year. I am 50. I don't sleep well. My periods are irregular now, brain fog, headaches, urinary urgency, and anxiety out of no where for no discernible reason. I am planning on starting HRT, likely a low dose BC to start.
@@Italian_Mama You just described me. Just in the last couple years my period has gotten really really light and I just turned 48. I started going back to the gym which has helped but I only sleep in two hour increments and it is getting debilitating. I have a doctors appointment on the 20th and I’m going to ask about Hormone replacement therapy..
Would love to know if you have gained any weight as I’ve gained a stone and slowly thanks to HRT it’s slowly shifting xx
Yes i did gain weight x
I am thinking about HRT because I'm 18 and I have a malformed uterus (small uterus) and have NEVER EVER gotten my period...how can HRT help me, because I would love to have kids. Please if you get this, help shine light on my "how can it help me?" question...
See a gynecologist or endocrinologist immediately. It's not normal to have no periods at your age and probably indicates a greater health problem. HRT or birth control can stimulate a cycle and preserve your fertility if it's a case of primary ovarian insufficiency. Also, you need estrogen for bone health, heart health, and even brain health. So many risk factors if your body is not creating hormones.
You seem so young to be on HRT? What made you go on it please. ?
Just tracking the symptoms. If you watch the earlier videos I just really wanted to feel like me again xx
@@NikkiRyantotally get it.... I just knew it was my hormones and thankfully i have a wonderful GP who prescribed me patches. I think we just know our bodies don't we. X
Why is HRT estogen based for every women ? Why it comes to the gps, I got given estogen patches which nearly made me take my life then I got told there was nothing else they could do for me. So good luck to all you women how get realistic help from your gp because this help is not available
Not sure if you were also on progesterone? But its about the balance of the two.
Do these make you put weight on
It varies massively, for me definitely
Is the age of 40 too „young“ to start HRT?
@@soniadetert1733 it was an old misconception that age equals when you need it. Everyone is different and it depends on your symptoms x
My fecking god, every personal experience becomes "A JOURNEY" nowadays...
🤣Its just a term to use for a title that's all
