Yes, actually. I got into kpop like 2 months after Big Bang's debut, so I did, in fact, see Taemin's debut in SHINee. It is hard to explain if you weren't there the extent to which Taemin was EVERYONE'S baby. He is such a precious, beautiful individual and you just want to make everything around him fluffy clouds and beauty, but the world doesn't work that way, and Taemin has had to deal with some very hard things. I don't think I can ever let go of him as my baby cheese, but I can appreciate the amazing artistry and sensuality of his work. I think Jjong did an amazing job working with Taemin to help move his image into adulthood - especially with lyrics for songs like Pretty Boy. I actually think my exact experience with this is best captured by the end of the dance practice for Criminal. That song is intense, but at the end you get the baby maknae back for a moment, and that's pretty much how I hold him in my brain. He's still baby cheese, but he's also an amazing, sensual, mature artist. I just have to have a wall in my head between those things.
I think you'll love Just Me and You (from his Beyond Live concert), as well as ACE which was released with his debut album and Danger. His work is so artistic, deep, and amazing. That reaction absolutely did happen from fandom in 2014 with his solo debut. His very first performance of Ace & Danger he walked out at SMTown SHIRTLESS with his first solo songs and slapped everyone across the face. And then he started promoting that next week. It was wild. Nobody was ready.
for me it was extra weird because I was a Taemin fan in like 2010 but then life happened and I got back into kpop exactly when Move dropped. To say it was a culture shock is not an exaggeration! Love him tho. Even though I'm an ARMY he is my ult bias, one of a kind, truly!

Thanks for reacting to our baby, who turned 28 yesterday kk, hope you react to the other SHINee members, Crazy by Jonghyun is amazing both in the MV and the live performance, One of those nights by Key, Blue by Onew and I' m Home by Minho, you will notice that all the members are completely different in their solo work, but at the same time they are connected as you will see on their debut albums, ACE by Taemin, BASE by Jonghyun, FACE by Key and VOICE by Onew, Taemin has more albums both in Korean and Japanese, the second is Jonghyun with 5 albums and the next is Key with 1 Korean, 1 Japanese and a repackage and we are waiting for the next one at the end of this month or beginning of next month, Onew has one and the next one should come in September, now Minho's debut album, CHOICE, should come out in December if the rumors are correct
