I liked this one a great deal I found it very helpful for my fret board note memorization. Beautifully and logically laid out I was able to process each step. While working through I also found it a good way to practice my string muting which is one of my weaknesses. Thanks Mike!
Yes, definitely from classical many of the concepts used by jazz musicians have their origins in classical music e.g., Barry Harris's musical approach inspired by Bella Bartok's concepts. Warm regards. Mike
Greetings from Russia! You have wonderful lessons on all jazz topics. But I would like to see from you the analysis of jazz chord solos. for example, Maybe you will be there - Ed bickert. You explain a lot, but I think if you made a column where you analyze such songs, you would be able to explain more concepts. Because even after watching most of your lessons, it's hard for me to analyze such songs. although maybe I'm just not too good and young yet. You are the best jazz teacher! I would also like you to do a course on open-string chords. This is an unforgettable and wonderful part of the chord solo.
Hello Lebedinskiy, Thank you for your comments and handy suggestions we'll see if we can incorporate some of your ideas in future videos. All the very best from Australia. Mike
Thus is a truth meteor, I think you've gave this secret away, so you can hear better things from others, the sadness of speed and scales over harmony, has been found guilty and you are the judge and jury. Excellent top top dude
Very nice, thank you ! I enjoy your presentation. I can also plug these chord changes into Band in a Box and practice the arpeggios, triads, etc over the chords in time.
Hello Mario, Yes JS Bach absolutely is the master of this style writing (and just about very other style of writing) you will also hear this type of playing, chord voicing in the music of guitarists such as Pat Metheny, Eric Johnson etc. All the very best. Mike
