    I worked in a bakery as a teenager. Obviously, we couldn't use chemical cleaners, so we used vinegar and lemon juice, respectively, to clean the glass and display cases every night. These natural products work wonders and are also a terrific (life saving) choice for anyone allergic to chemical cleaners!

    I've used vinegar for most of my cleaning for a very long time now, it really does go away very quickly. I've never had a guest complain to me about a vinegar smell, and I even asked if there is one.

    My mother used to add a cap full of vinegar in a bowl of warm water and rinsed my hair with it, in the 60's and 70's there were no products such as anti nit spray nor conditioner. I never had nits at school the nit nurse confirmed that lol and my hair had a lovely shine to it x

    My favorite, if you have rusty tools soak them in vinegar for 24 hours. The rust will melt off. For best results, remove from vinegar after 24 hours, scrub with a wire brush, and finally coat with oil or WD-40 to prevent flash rust from forming.

    Great video on the benefits and uses of vinegar! I also use apple-cider-vinegar (ACV) mixed with water & a few drops of lavender oil instead of hair conditioner. Leaves hair extra clean and shiny, and the vinegar smell dissipates after it dries, leaving only the lavender scent behind. Thank you for the vinegar spray tip about de-wrinkling shirts - I was using fabric softener + water to de-wrinkle, but no more! :) As another commenter mentioned, drinking raw ACV with raw honey and water is the best health drink ever. I drink it twice a day. Bragg's is my favorite brand for ACV.

    • @ShoshannaEversAuthor
      @ShoshannaEversAuthor 9 років тому +1

      +Michele W The water with the vinegar must help because I've been drinking ACV/honey water for two years and my teeth are good! You could always drink it with a straw if you're concerned about your teeth. Vinegar used as a hair rinse makes my hair shiny, that's why I use it (aside from it being natural). It's not frizzy :) You can see my hair in my avatar, that's me.

      add a capful of any extracts you can get at the grocery store in the food section. I use orange with mine. Capful is enough to scent at least 5 gallons. I use it to mop with. And you can use any of them to freshen the air.

    the best window cleaner is vinegar and water. The trick is to use newspaper. The newsprint and vinegar create very sparkly clean swindows. My grandmother used this on the farm in the 1930's. Her other trick was to put 1 piece of bread in the container with your fresh baked cookies. The bread got hard as a rock, but the cookies stayed soft and moist.

    My steam iron started steaming out rust onto my clothes, so I put white vinegar into the reservoir and ran it through the iron down the sink. Then ran clear water through it and it was good to go and is still going years later - no rust through it anymore. I've heard other folk throw their iron away when rust starts coming through, so saved buying a new one.

    I use vinegar all the time for cleaning and for clogged drains including my recently shark mop that stopped working. Even for my hair to remove all the build up. Very very effective and all natural! Infact, when my dishasher was not working, the techinician told me that putting a tbsp of vinegar in the dishwasher will make it last longer . Well, I also don't need that much soap anymore and for NO spots guess what? VINEGAR! I buy galloons just because it made my life easier. And for keeping my husband and I healthy, AC vinegar as well. He doesn't complain about his knee arthritis anymore. Look it up on all the benefits on line. I cannot do without the vinegar. Has been my saving grace!

    One thing important, because i didn't know this either, white vinigar you use for cleaning it's not the same use on food for seasoning salads like the ones made from white, red whine or fruits, it's alcohol vinigar. Beside that white vinegar and baking soda is helpful to remove deodorant arm pit stains, i discover it this way, and it work. The only thing i hate about using it as a cleaning product around the house it's the horrible smell it leaves i hate that smell as much i hate the taste of common vinigar, but it can be very useful.

      TheSUPERHAPPY1 Or you can let it soak by pouring some Bleach in it & let it soak for a while. I usually prefer to dilute the Bleach a little by cutting with some hot water & then I let it soak until the water has cooled down to room temperature all the way. Choosing to dilute it or not really just all depends on how bad the smell actually is and/or how long it's been since it was last cleaned (or a combination of those 2 variables as well o/c). I'd much rather be anywhere that smells like regular chlorine Bleach (and/or 1 of my most favorite assorted Bleach scent(s) that comes in a handful of various, different added fragrances) as opposed to having to inhale the repugnant smell of vinegar on any day & time of the week :-}. Be Blessed !!!

    There is advice on the net that the vinegar + baking soda trick, (even recommended by some plumbers) doesn't help unclog drains. Of course there's a noticeable reaction between the alkaline soda and acidic vinegar but it doesn't cut grease at all. I've used it on slow drains but can't say if it helps or not, it might just be the hot water that's recommended after the soda/vinegar treatment.

      Dramatic effect .Even some natural chemicals can be bad but the inference is that artificial chemicals are likely to be more harmful but not in all cases. Cyanide is natural, found in apple pips, not so good in high doses.

    For the gnat trap, only poke 1 hole. For best results it should be just larger than a gnat. Use a toothpick.
    Also, put in 1 drop of liquid soap for better results. It breaks the surface tension and really pulls the little buggers in.

      +Binky Lozz Yeah, last time I was sick (years ago) I put *organic apple cider vinegar* in hot water to breathe in. I rarely get sick these days, since I've gone organic / grass fed products + take organic, whole food vitamin / mineral supplements.
      I used to have sniffles every day, and stuffed up nostrils for most of my life but, when I changed my lifestyle (as mentioned above) and took supplements, it all went away. :)

      +Drummer GirlGlamorous Vinegar is acidic, so I'd probably rinse my head with water and *Baking Soda* (Sodium Bicarbonate), as it's alkaline and will counter the acidity of vinegar.
      I wash my hair with Baking Soda (and then put organic, unrefined coconut oil in my hair afterward).

      I do believe the smell will disappear quickly. As the air flows around the clothing the smell goes away. • @skillcoiler
      @skillcoiler 8 років тому

      FuKItM4n Well since I am not going to drink it just like any of the other cleaners its level of poisonous is moot. I was just commenting on the funk that is white vinegar. That trash can tip for example I have never had any smell in my can that lasted for as long or was as bad as doing that would be. .

    • @FuKItM4n
      @FuKItM4n 8 років тому +1

      skillcoiler Vinegar is used in a lot of cleaners, and deodorizers (Febreeze) Vinegar's smell does not last long at all. IT evaporates quicky, like alcohol because thats pretty much what it is, over cooked alcohol

    • @skillcoiler
      @skillcoiler 8 років тому +1

      FuKItM4n Well one of us either is using the wrong kind of vinegar or my nose is just amazingly more sensitive than yours. Every time I crack it open regardless of the kind say for cooking as well I smell it for quite some time in the house.

    • @FuKItM4n
      @FuKItM4n 8 років тому +2

      skillcoiler Thats because you are keeping it in a container that has a lot of liquid.. When you spray it, it mists has more surface area and evaporates faster... logic..
