Thank you for this!!!! My other vehicles reset themselves or the place that changed my oil did it. I didn't know what to do since this was the 1st time I've had the oil change since I've owned the truck
Please forgive me as I know this question is off topic. Is there a recommended replacement mileage for ignition coils? (Or just when they act up?) I’ve got a 2010 4.6 Triton engine ~117k no issues just curious. Thank you
As far as I’m aware there is no replacement interval for the ignition coils. With that said, if you are on top of replacing the spark plugs on a regular basis (every 60-100k miles or earlier) - I’ve seen the OE coils last well into the 300k mark and beyond. The coils seem to get trashed if the spark plug gaps are allowed to get out of hand. If you haven’t already replaced your truck’s spark plugs at 117k miles, I would highly recommend doing that as soon as reasonably possible, using the same Motorcraft plugs as your truck came with.
@@AKJeeper yes sir, replaced the plugs with factory spec’d ones from the dealer approx 10k ago. The original ones weren’t terribly worn so I think I caught them early enough. I feel good about it now with your reply and info, thank you very much for the help.
2014 F 150 the change oil soon light came on. I changed oil went to reset the oil life settings and every time I press ok it goes to default to main screen. But when you try to drive it the warning light comes on. How do I reset it.
If you’re working on your driveway - I would suggest putting the front on ramps, or jack it up with a jack and jack stands. Taking off the air dam under the bumper helps clear up more space for a person to be under the truck. Access is kind of dumb, you’re going to do it mostly blind unless you have the truck on a hoist, or if you can somehow rotate your head on your neck more than the average person lol.
It depends. These Fords have an “oil life monitor” which calculates the oil change interval based on how you drive. I’ve seen 100% be as little as 2800 miles, or as long as 10000 miles. Personally, I ignore these on my personal vehicles and change the oil/filter 2x a year or every 5000k miles. Whichever comes first!
The computer controls the radiator fan based on input from the cylinder head temperature sensor. This sensor's location varies depending on which engine you have. The 3.5 V6 Ecoboost, 4.6 V6, 5.0 V8, 5.4 V8, and 6.2 V8s require intake manifold removal. The 3.7 V6 has the sensor located on the rear of the passenger side cylinder head. I hope this helps.
Does your truck have the larger (optional) fuel tank? If memory serves, this one is something like 36 gallons. Maybe that’s why this one had 555 miles showing for range despite a crappy 13.4 MPG average?
If your not changing your oil on a 3.5 ecoboost you will have problems eventually. Setti f the oil life for 100% won't warn you again until manufactors idea of oil changes If inky hwy set it for 5k if it's combo set it for 4k
Short and concise, i like it
Happy Mercedesing! Great video!
Perfect. Short, simple and easy. Great video.
Wow!!! It's been 139.2 miles since my oil change, and Thank you! THANK YOU!!
For showing me how to accomplish this seemingly "Simple" task
Very helpful. Thx a lot.

Hey man I was changing my oil in my 2010 f-150 and I couldn’t get to the oil filter to replace it, any tips on how to replace them easily?

@@AKJeeper thank you, I do have the ramps I can use but would it be worth it do have a mechanic do it to avoid the hassle?
Question, Is the 100% for 3K, 5K, 10K miles?

@@AKJeeperthank you, I will Definetly also follow the 5K rule

I’ve never had my truck reading anywhere close to 500 miles on a tank of gas…
