Roting Christ is one of the most underrated Bands i know. they are great!
Give it time their popularity will increase
These guys are genius. I love their melodies and how they combine them with those amazing rhythms and esoteric atmospheres. Most of their albums are not really black metal in the classical sense, since they've been always a very experimental band. For example, if you listen to A Dead Poem (an album from 1997, so really back in the days) it's almost gothic rock with harsh vocals. And if you like the style of the song, it's more or less the sound they've been cultivating since Theogonia, which is a killer of an album btw.
Thankfully Rotting Christ visit Germany very often. I've seen Metallica, I've seen Slayer, I've seen them all. But Rotting Christ is the best life band there is. It's just.... Wow

Rotting Christ, Varathron, Acherontas and Lucifer's Child is the masters of Hellenic Black Metal.
This song still gives me goose bumps all over my body and RC is very underrated as a band and they get better and better by the years.

Ooh, that video is *so* great. Even the mis-pronunciation of some words only _makes it better._ Sakis has such a distinct vocal sound! I wish I remembered what was _my_ first Rotting Christ song. All I remember is I instantly fell in love with their music. At first it seems simple, but there are so many nuances in the sound and frankly _genius_ elements in their songs. And then there are the song titles and lyrics... When a band has the dedication to write song titles or even _entire_ songs in *Greek* - "Δαιμόνων βρῶσις" ("Daimóno̱n vró̱sis", "Demons' food"), "χξϛʹ" ("666" in Greek numerals!), etc. -, *Russian* - "Русалка" ("Rusalka", a a female entity in Slavic folklore) -, *Latin* - "In Nomine Dei Nostri" ("In the Name of Our God") -, *Hebrew* - "זה נגמר (Ze Nigmar)", ("It's Over") -, *Sanskrit* - "देवदेवं (Devadevam)" ("God of Gods"), and so on, not to mention release an album with _literally_ a Greek title, Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού ("Katá ton Daímona Eautoú", Greek for ""true to your own spirit" - an inscription found also on Jim Morrison's gravestone) , they command *respect.*

@@mohdazahari8056 Great band, _great_ band. I'm afraid I don't have _Sleep of the Angels_ (1999) - _Theogonia_ (2007) is their earliest album in my collection. I've been meaning to have a listen of their older albums, but when a band _changes naturally over time_ like they have (or *Anathema* or *Behemoth* or *Katatonia* etc.), I hesitate to take a trip back in time - I feel like I _have to_ have been there from the start, like with Anathema (since 1992) and Katatonia (since 1993), to appreciate the musical journey _as it happened._ The "Mainstream Years" of Paradise Lost I was *not* a fan of - after _Draconian Times_ (1995) had disappointed me, I only returned when they released _Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us_ (2009). *My Dying Bride* (since 1992) is the band that is connect the most with, _but_ my All-Time Greatest is *Carcass* (since 1992) - that's why I bought *all* of the _The Pathologist's Report_ editions (2008) of the albums ...and received a free box for them from Earache! And they of course returned in 2013! "Let's Rot!" 😁

Have loved Rotting Christ for several years now. I'd also suggest to check out their song with Diamanda Galas - "Orders from the Dead" and another one called "Fire, Death and Fear". Other than that "Athanati Este" and "Demonon Vrosis" are others I'd recommend. Enjoy!

Catching up with your videos I missed, *part* *6:* Yesss, Rotting Christ! I myself became an instant fan when hearing AEALO back in 2010. They have That Magical Something most bands never find. So much depth in their iconic sound!

I been following you guys for a while glad to see you do Rotting Christ check out all of the songs can't go wrong at all! plus I want to point out that when you said they had a bahemoth feel Rotting Christ has been around since 88 anyways they always evolve music wise which is a good thing otherwise it will get boring quick. Do more from them you will not be disappointed trust me!!

i have seen them live in a small concert place. where about 200 people. amazing show. saw them live with Negura Bunget. also a band you guys should definitely check out
Excellent band that I feel has been held back by their a bit misleading name. Misleading in a sense that some people think they are some extreme black metal band they don't even want to try out. It's a shame, since they are very melodic and atmospheric group. One of my favorites.

Finally some Rotting Christ! This is probably the best and most historical Greek metal band. You are in for a treat if you check out their amazing back catalogue! By the way, in the song among two storms (from their more gothic/dark metal era) Fernándo from Moonspell is a guest singer. Enjoy!
"Among Two Storms"... although not representative of their current style, one of their greatest songs, indeed. Back in 1997. Love it. And the whole "Dead Poem" album.

Greek black metal do sound a lot different from the stuff coming from scandinavia, other bands you could check out are Varathron, Necromantia, Thou art lord, Macabre omen and Kawir.

Amazing reaction! This guitar solo at the end, although its first seconds sound like "Sanctus Spiritus Diavolos" 's solo (an older song of them), is about to become the metal anthem of 2019 - if not of the whole decade!
PS: Check out any song from their "Theogonia" (2007) or "Kata Ton Daimona Eautou" album (2013). For me "666" is one of the 2-3 more "mediocre" songs of this album - although it is the only one with a "proper" video clip.

Keravnos Kyvernitos (meaning "Thunder that can be governed" ) is another song that you should check. Rotting Christ is an extreme metal band that releases great music since the early 90's. They experimented with different sounds and genres. Unfortunately because of their name they still have problems with simple minded christians in Greece and other countries.

The name of the band comes from the religious beliefs of the band! The word "Rotting" means old ideas of religion, old, outdated!
