With over a decade of expertise, learn the proven methods for attracting consistent high-paying private yoga clients. This is an excellent way to connect on a deeper level with your students and earn more money as a yoga teacher. Many people crave private yoga instruction and it depends on us as leaders to step up and serve.
I've taught private yoga in NYC and yes you want to practice first and feel very comfortable iwth the one on one experience. It is very different than a class. Strangely in a class you can almost hide as you don't interact much with each student. One on one it's very close and intimate so your energy has to be different.
The MAIN thing is that you need to be able to adapt, and you need a certain level of training and clarity, attention to do it well. You also need to do more hands on corrections in a loving way. It needs to elevate beyond them being in a classroom.
You also re: adaptability- need to not be rigid on what your plan was. Each time the student might feel tired, injured or off.
YES! I agree! It is very different and requires a certain kind of 'space-holding' as a teacher. Definitely no hiding in private yoga!

Totally true about practicing teaching privately with friends first. There's an element of comfort with friends and family, and for them to give constructive and loving feedback immediately.
Yes exactly! It is such a wise way to start!!!
just found you, and I'm super excited about it. working up to taking my first teacher training, but I have some big goals and looking forward to seeing them manifest. Thank you for all the advice!

Ur tips for private yoga class is helpful but can u put a video how u carry ur one hour class and what all r the topics u cover...this will be very helpful as a beginner ...👍
Thanks for all the valuable information. And what are the 3 strategies then?
Do you have a written questionnaire prior to class you give your clients in hopes to know how to format the private class, specially for special population?...
Hey! Yes, I have a private client intake form I sent most of my privates before I meet with them, otherwise I sometimes offer a 15 minute phone call in order to discuss their specific desires for the session.
You videos are so so so useful.
Beautiful video and thanks you so much.. I have one question when I say private class but then it not one on one but sometime there like 3 or 2 people. I don’t know how much do I have to charge for this ? It like a private group ? Sharing cost ? Thanksnyou so much. Looking to hear from you .
Hey Joy! That's a great question. This depends on your personal rate and desire for structuring your offerings. I have experimented with many different pricing options for these and now I have a flat hourly rate regardless of amount of people.
Joy. M 2 cents...i recommend adding an additional cost per person. So if your private rate is $80. Then like $10-20 per additional head. So $110 if it's 4 and u use $10 as your rate. This is important because sharing u...among friends is fine but it is more work and each person is having higher level of attention vs group class. I do couples esp if long-term for a set price.
Yoga Bliss Dance thanks you so much for your sharing
Build Your Personal Yoga Business thanks you so much for sharing :))
Anyhow I feel the other way round. I am more afraid of big groups. I am fine with 1 - 5 students.
thank you for your comment! so cool that you prefer intimate groups! that is a skill-set, and it's important to be clear about that so you can direct your yoga business according to how you feel most comfortable teaching. now, if your desire is to teach large classes but you have some fear then I suggest practicing that too! practice is key to creating more ease ;-) namaste!
I am thinking to do something with one on one personalizing yoga and nutrition. But I have never teach a private yoga before. I will love if you can make a video about it.
Thank you and Namaste.
Olga, I think it's such a great idea to come up with a customized wellness program to offer your clients. Can you tell me more about exactly what type of video you would like me to create on this topic?
In the meantime, you should grab the Private Yoga Teaching Blueprint--It's only $7 and contains an entire video of me teaching a private yoga class, as an idea and inspiration for teaching your own... along with lots of other goodies to get you started.

I look forward to hearing from you and am happy to support you!
Thank you so much, I will be buying it ASAP. ;) I guess that video will help me a lot. I know when the people start practicing yoga they start making changes in their plates. But some people is not attracted about practicing yoga or meditation, so what can I do to make this offer attractive for every body? Nutrition and yoga are together I believe. Thank you again. Namaste.
I bought it already. And another question, once I decided where to start my healthy coaching yoga, is necessary to buy an insurance?
And I was thinking in my domain name. What do you think about..Yolganicoachinlife. or Olganiccoachlifestyle or just Olganiclife? ;) I appreciate your opinion because you are a professional. what can sound more attractive?
Hi Olga! I hope the Blueprint offers you lots of inspiration and new ideas for your business. Perhaps you can educate your clients about exactly how you feel nutrition and yoga go together. Also, if your client is new to yoga or meditation, perhaps add it in as part of your practice and call it something else like 'body and breath time' or something creative that doesn't intimidate them. You may also have yoga as an optional add-on to one of your coaching packages for people who are interested. I feel that once people get started their minds change and the more their health improves, their minds will open to new practices such as yoga and meditation. Does this make sense?
Awesome Olga! Thank you for your support. I know you'll enjoy it.
Regarding your question, I do suggest you have insurance and that info is in the Blueprint. It's smart as a business owner and it's better to be safe. Similar to how a yoga studio requires students to sign a waiver, I suggest you do the same with you clients... and insurance for yourself yes yes yes.
Regarding the domain names you came up with, first off you are SO creative! I love them all!I think I like Olganiclife as I tend to lean towards the simplest... but go with your heart. They are all so creative... also, Yolganicoachinlife, implies yoga first and foremost so if I am not a yogi I may be intimidated. Just a thought/feeling :) Let me know what you choose! Such good things to be directing your energy towards... xo
Excellent. Thank you :)
GailMichelleYoga my pleasure :)
