Great Video. We stayed right next to the museum when we visited. I like that train station the best out of the 2 main ones in Madrid. Great area and the park is nearby. Beautiful park
Hi Antoanetta.. Enjoyed this video; however, I was very surprised that this was your first visit to the Reina Sofía. I follow your videos and I know you are definitely a very creative and contemporary woman. I am a recently retired teacher of Spanish (after 46 wonderful years in the classroom) in the US and have traveled to Spain and I am still traveling many times with and without my students. I taught upper levels of Spanish in high school for native speakers as well as non-natives. I used to teach a major unit on Picasso which included a historical background of what was going on in Spain during the lifetime of Picasso, although he lived in France, so that my students may have a better understanding of the creative work. I always loved the reaction of my students upon seeing “Guernica” in person after having only seeing it second-hand in the classroom. Everyone who visits the painting is basically silent upon seeing and also remembering what the painting represents. Interesting how you included the thoughts of Picasso pertaining to the symbolism of the figures in his painting.. I thought you would have also included in your one day in Madrid a walking visit por el barrio de las Huertas que está unos pocos 10 minutos caminando para tomar una copa y de leer las citas empedradas en la calle de los literarios más importantes de Espańa. Gracias otra vez. Salgo para España otra vez a mediados de septiembre. Mis maletas siempre están listas para España. De Elaine, la profe de NJ.
Hello ,Antoanetta and thanks for this beautiful video. Antoanetta, Queen Sophia National Art Center only hosts artists born after 1900 . Hope see you back in Madrid soon !. And if you like paintings please let me suggest Sorolla Museum.
