- Who will play the last note? Place your bets!
You can trace the history of this video by watching the following videos:
First, in August 2008, Adam & Tom sat down at the same piano and played together for the very first time, improvising their way through this tune.
• "Charleston" four-hand...
Then, in November, they sat down and played a four-hand version of it again.
• "The Charleston" playe...
And now here, in November 2009, they take a crack at it on two pianos for the first time. It turns into a battle to see who will play the final note!
Of course "Charleston" is by James P. Johnson, from about 1923.
I love the bass line Tom plays at 0:37. It's just so Tom Brier!
exactly
Who will play the last note? Tom Brier, of course. Tom Brier always wins!
The best duet rendition of Charleston out there!! :D
A brief quote from Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, leading then into improvisations.
Haha, I really like the ending battle. This is great!
Sounds Great!
Brilliant
thank you SOOO much :D i have been loing for this piece for over a year XD
Love anything (well, with one exception) that Adam does. Not apropos: I wonder how much money James P. Johnson earned from this enduring world hit. Probably not all that much knowing the history of the music business.
what piece does he start to play at 2:55
Rhapsody in Blue
fun love it !

Great! Have you got the sheets? :)
As of January 1, 2019, this piece is in the public domain so you can download it free from a number of sheet music archives, such as digitalcommons.library.umaine.edu/mmb-vp/208/ or repository.library.brown.edu/studio/item/bdr:25880/ to name a couple.
it's nice but I think it's a but to much volume for such a small room.
