My friend, you have come across a most extraordinary young vocal artist. Her vocal and performance abilities are top-tier even at the age of 16. Phenomenal talent like this is rare and she's only just getting started.
Right now Emma is on a world tour with Maestro Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra captivating audiences around the world with her stunning vocal artistry.
I very much enjoyed your reaction. Though many other artists of renown have interpreted this iconic song, Emma has still managed to put her stamp on it and make it her own. I think that says a lot. She gives every performance everything she has and it shows. I don't think she knows any other way.
    Thanks again. All the best.

She is one of the best singers of our time. There is also a young lady, Amira Willaghan also from Holland. Between the two of them they are amazing..

Just to add a little bit more, Emma, as I have already said, is only 16 and just getting started on her career. However, she has a lot out there on UA-cam and her social media. All of it, of course, is when she was younger. Nevertheless, she is well worth looking into.
From the time she won the Voice Kids Netherlands in 2021, she has been considered a National Treasure in the Netherlands. There are many videos of her performing concerts and shows in the period leading up to her performance of 'Voila' in Maastricht last summer. I encourage you to check them out. Some of her covers are mind-blowing. Many, in my opinion upstage the original artist.
You may also be interested to know that Emma is a musical prodigy. She is the scion of a musical family. Both her parents are musicians, though not active now. Her brother Enzo is an accomplished violinist well on his away to world class status. Her sister Sophie is a classically trained singer who has chosen to pursue a law degree. Emma herself plays both piano and violin in addition to her extraordinary vocals. Just for kicks, she is fluent in 3 languages: Dutch, English and German. She is not your ordinary teenage girl of 16.
I suppose you know of the terrible disease Gastroparesis that she suffers from, and that adds another dimension to her character. Emma is a young warrior utterly determined and focused on overcoming the tragedy of her circumstances. Frankly, she's been doing one hell of a job of it. Do not pity her. She is a courageous warrior.

Marcello, thank you for another excellent comment about Emma's singing and performing skills, she has once again given a superb performance that has been very well received by a large number of viewers.
Emma is undoubtedly special, her voice is instantly recognisable even if you don't see a video to accompany it, and that's not usual, she has an ability to stand out, even when she's singing with a large number of people, clearly good sound management has a part to play, but so does her skill, she has a wonderful way of projecting her voice that allows her to be very much recognisable, without being over dominant, her contribution enhances the performance, as a part of the whole, unlike some singers who have to be the primary focus, Emma is very happy to be a part of the whole, and it's beautiful to hear.
Andre is very much encouraging her to sing songs like this, a recent song from the Benelux section of the world tour was a song in German, another language that Emma is fluent in, the German entry to Eurovision 1982, she starts a capella, having first given the audience a cheeky smile, and a raised finger for quiet, and then after Andre has brought the whole orchestra and singers in, she sings a verse counter harmony, which is beautiful to hear, and so good, even with an orchestra, chorus, sopranos and tenors alongside her.
Ein Bisschen Frieden a song in german, she starts it with a finger for quiet, and then a capella for the first verse. These two videos are audience captures, so not as good a quality as the normal Andre released videos, and the first is a short, so it loops, the second needs to be played to get the second part of the song.

In terms of other songs, I'd have to suggest several, one of the songs from the September 2023 special commemoration concert to remember the 8000 Americans who lost their lives liberating Holland in WWII, her performance of 'Father', a Demi Levato cover is exquisite, both in terms of her sensitivity to the song, and in the absolute incredible power she puts into it at one point, she's still tiny, 1 Mtr 50, and around 50 Kgs, but somehow, she has the ability to put huge vocal power into her songs, and this one is very much a case in point, the sound engineer behind her was not ready for how much power she put into it, and she broke him, several times, a very powerful performance, as was the next song, a duet, which ends with a very powerful exchange, where she responds to a question about the importance of continuing to tell the stories of those who died, 'I will, for as long as I can', given the uncertanty of her life expectancy because of gastorparesis, that's a very deep and significant moment.
For completeness, I will post a list of all the videos of that event, as they are best watched in sequence,
    liberation concert
    Introduction to the concert
    ua-cam.com/video/e5HBdHX6bew/v-deo.html
    Father
    ua-cam.com/video/y554GsqMHj8/v-deo.html
Hero (already reviewed on this channel)
    ua-cam.com/video/iYVEIXwNmT8/v-deo.html
You Raise me up, duet with Nico Wouterse, notable for the closing line by Emma, 'I will tell them, for as long as I can'
    ua-cam.com/video/baH0JQsLo3c/v-deo.html
Another pair of songs that very much brings this into focus, the first is a short song she recorded as a memorial to a close friend Angela, who died of the same disease a few months earlier, how she found the strength to sing the closing line I don't know, she sings, 'Yeah, I know, you'll tell me when I get there', and this is another indication of the uncertainty that Emma has to live with, she has no way to know what her prognosis is, her disease could change, and that could affect so much, so all we can hope for is that her foundation will have some success in finding better treatment or even better a cure for this awful disease.
When I Get There - @PinkVideoVault Unaccompanied short, very powerful, a song about the passing of a very close friend, given Emma's own situation, so incredibly deep and moving, just incredible.
Translation of the note in Dutch,
'Last night my dear friend Angela became a star! 💗
I'm going to miss you incredibly much, but every time I look at the starry sky I know you're looking back 💗'
    ua-cam.com/video/0nIpN86mw6E/v-deo.html
Memorial song for Angela also, Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn 13 May 2023 a video short,
    ua-cam.com/video/k-ZtoS0E1B8/v-deo.html
Today I had the opportunity to sing at the farewell of my dear friend Angela 💘
'Angela always wanted to go viral with her tiktoks, she wanted to be popiejopie! Let's make this happen, share this message as much as possible so that Angela goes viral and she can really be popie from above ♥🙏🏻'
Two other songs that have special meaning for Emma, the first is a cover of a Miley Cyrus song, 'the climb', she recorded this one for Tube feeding week, an event that's close to her own heart, she's on her feeding pumps for 22 hours a day, it's a huge factor that very much limits the time she can spend performing each day,
    ua-cam.com/video/dOhzlDEuCBg/v-deo.html
The other with special meaning, a Disney film cover, from 'The little mermaid', sung by Halle Bailey, 'Part of your world', where Ariel is expressing a deep desire to be able to move from her world in the water to walk on land, to be a part of the world she can see but can't be a part of without massive change for her, which resonates with Emma because of the restrictions and limitations she's always had to live with from birth, because of gastroparesis, it wasn't even properly diagnosed until she was 10, despite her being put on feeding tubes at 9 months.
    ua-cam.com/video/itxs-aNyRJY/v-deo.html
I close with my usual signature.
Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl
I appeal to everyone reading this channel, subscribers or just readers, if at all possible, please join me in making a (regular) donation to Emma's foundation, to help the work of supporting the sufferers of this illness, and researching this rare and awful disease.
The team that is running the foundation includes a surgeon with significant experience of treating patients with this disease, and she can no longer work as a surgeon, as she too has gastroparesis, and in her case, a change in her condition means she can no longer work as a surgeon, so her focus now is on the work of the foundation.
It is their hope that with more attention being paid to the disease, better treatments, or even possibly a cure may be found, and that could mean that people like Emma will no longer be tied to the equivalent of a boat anchor for 22 hours a day.
For Emma, to be free to be able to perform for longer periods would be a wonderful result, the fulfillment of another of her dreams, and that would be so good to see happen.

She sung the same song with Andre in Athens and the people wouldn't let her go; she received at least three recalls before the video finished. If possible, Emma sang two songs that are even more emotional than Voila. Strijder (Warrior), the official video, there is a copy with English lyrics; and Butterfly, sung before a large audience at a music festival. This also has an English translation. I hope this is correct in Dutch: Emma Kok laat mij een vlinder zijn english lyrics. Perhaps someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Marcelo, I enjoy your considerate and empathetic reactions to Emma's performances. From my point of view there is no need to apologise for stopping the performance occasionally - for one I beleive it is necessary for copyright, but also I like to hear what a reactor thinks and has to say about the performance to compare with my own thoughts. If I want to watch the performance in isolation I can go and see the original. Keep up the good work, its nice to watch.
As @Exeter1588 has said there are many performances of Emma's out there on UA-cam. You could pretty much pick any as she is consistently good, but I just want to highlight two; both remarkable in their own way imho.
In September 2023 Emma (then age 15) sang a cover of Demi Lovato's 'Father' at a Liberation Concert at the American War Graves Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands. This to mark the liberation of Europe at the end of WWII. The local people in the area, which is close to the German border, have adopted graves there. I recently learned there is actually a waiting list to adopt war graves, where they are tended to and many have flowers laid on the fallen servicemen's birthdays and memorial days. In this performance Emma shows what an emotional powerhouse she is - if you are likely to easily succumb then take care else Emma will crush you, albeit in the nicest possible way. You can see the sound technician over her left shoulder (who cannot have been at the rehearsals). First he starts to take notice, his concentration deepens, then he gradually folds before having to be consoled by two colleagues. As you pointed out in your reaction video here, Emma doesn't hold back, "every time she picks up the microphone its with intention", you say. She really does invest everything in a performance and none more so than this one.
    ua-cam.com/video/y554GsqMHj8/v-deo.html
An earlier performance of her first single, Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn (Let Me Be A Butterfly) sung live in the town square of Houten in Netherlands is worth a watch. It's from 2022 so she is 14 here. The song is in Dutch but is beautiful. It's about breaking free from the constraints of her disease, the feeding pumps, the bullying etc. using the metaphor of a butterfly breaking out of its cocoon to fly. The song is one thing here, but it is noteworthy in my view because of the way she interacts with the crowd. Her confidence at 13 is extraordinary, her performance relaxed and effortless. Andre Rieu affectionately referred to her in an interview as a "stage beast" - this video shows what I think he means. Whether it is in front of a couple of thousand as here, or on the stage of a 15000 seat arena, she is more at free, safe, and comfortable on stage as she is anywhere else. See what you think.

A person who conveys emotion through his own songs and singing 🌀JANN 🌀
Make a reaction to Jann's live performances, please, e.g: 🔥🔥🔥Chillizet Live Session: Jann - Promise🔥🔥🔥
    ------------------------
    Lyrics "Promise"
You said that you'll be there when I get home
You'll do the laundry cook the meal for all
But I smell neither garlic nor the cotton when I'm here
All I hear is silence that you left when you disappeared
    Why didn't you say
That you wouldn't stay with me forever
Like then on a day you first met me
I don't even care why you had to leave baby
    You tear me apart
    Look how selfish you are
Left me behind when I gave you my life
    Where are you now
How am I supposed to tell them How
And you promised that you wouldn't leave before me
Tell me why you couldn't keep your promise
I know that you can't hear me like before
But there are things I think you need to know
The things that you would know If you'd just wait a little more
But you don't like to wait and now they think that it's their fault
    Why didn't you say
That you wouldn't stay with me forever
Like then on a day you first met me
I don't even care why you had to leave baby
    You tear me apart
    Look how selfish you are
Left me behind when I gave you my life
    Where are you now
How am I supposed to tell them How
And you promised that you wouldn't leave before me
Tell me why you couldn't keep your promise

Welcome to the Emma journey. Although a lot of the performances, that will be suggested, will not have the best recording quality I'm sure that you will enjoy and appreciate the beautiful and sincere voice of Emma. May I suggest her performance of "Father"? She puts in so much emotion that even the soundman cracks into tears.

Why do you interrupt something so beautiful and so whole? It's like breaking the Venus de Milo into pieces and then taking a piece of crushed marble in your hand and experiencing elation - oh, how wonderful it is. The opinion can be after the song. You don't spoil perfect things.
