Not a bad review. I fly UA Polaris Dubai-Newark round trip once every quarter. Almost everything you mentioned I’ve experienced on those 14 hr TALT flights, but I’ve never had a really bad crew, and I’ve been able to get a Sunday after everything was put away once. Catering, oh boy, that is such a hit or miss with UA. At DXB, UA uses the Emirates biz lounge in T3, so what I’ve started doing is to fill up on the really good food from multiple stations across the lounge, and then not eat dinner on the plane. The DXB-EWR flight is a 0200 departure, so it’s really easy to just go to sleep and eat later. I haven’t seen those Away amenity kits since mid-2023. I’ve got 4 of them, and it works great as a cable/charger travel container.
Awesome! Yeah crew as always is highly day-dependent and hub-dependent as you’ve probably experienced as well. And yeah food ex-EWR has not been great in my experience either. I used to fly EWR-BOM very regularly pre-Russia closure days and the way out was never anything great. But ex-BOM, and likewise many other intl places, was wonderful. I know the DXB departure is quite late and you go straight to sleep but have you ever tried the first meal service out of DXB? I’d like to think it’s much better and actually worth a bite
@@TheAircraftKing Oh yeah, I've eaten dinner on the plane headed out of DXB plenty of times, which is how I learned to fill up in the biz lounge and skip the on-board service, but always get the sundae, lol.
@@get2dachoppa249 lol fair enough and yes agreed the sundae is always a must eat! That’s why I rec’d everyone in the video to eat the sundae no matter what and if you want the other stuff it will be available mid flight
Could someone please tell me how to make those beds! Is there a mattress pad or do you use one of the blankets as the mattress cover? Is the douvet the cover? I was confused and am traveling again soon.
@@marysuhrer7303 a mattress pad is provided and so is a blanket. So you won’t have to sleep on the seat directly and you’ll be sleeping on a mattress layer and then have a blanket on top of you. You’ll also have 2 layers of pillows with a normal pillow for cousin and the gel cooling pillow for more cushion and comfort as well. Few airlines, if any, do business class bedding better than United imo.
@@marysuhrer7303 I leave it at my seat. Generally in a lounge, especially the Polaris lounge, people aren’t the kind to go stealing other people’s stuff. I haven’t had any issues yet in all my years of traveling. As a matter of fact, one time I was dumb enough to leave my passport at the buffet area at a lounge in India and I was frantically looking for it and a dude walked up to me with it and said this looks like you and gave it back to me. So I wouldn’t worry too much. Find a place you like, set up shop, and go eat without worries

@TheAircraftKing Thank you kindly.
What do you do with your carryon case if you are traveling alone and want to go to the buffet?
