I greatly appreciate the _philosophy_ on show here. It's not just teaching the technical side, but also how to _think_ about your drawing skills to develop them. It's especially useful about approaching new territory in art. Thank you. 😁
The word "feel" came to mind listening to his description of his work process. It's not so much copying the model exactly as it appears, but depicting the artist's feeling, while drawing the subject. At one point, he discusses working with those who are "like minded" and that you absorb bits of their creativity in your own work. I've found working in a studio, with other artists, is the best springboard for learning and inspiration.
Why do you draw slow? Its because you are unfamiliar and you are learning. I love this take from Peter. Speed comes with practice. Be kind to yourself when you are learning.
Katsuya terada is the reason I fell in love with the small intricacies of drawing, I’m glad to see superani has more artists with similar freedom in their drawing construction.
He definitely learned from Kim Jung Gi in his method of using a brush pen. He trusts every line and has mastered to draw with ink along with perspective. Thats something awesome.
I'm really thinking about buying that drawing course of yours! Regarding the video. I think it's really insightful, yet it's easy to get! World is made of shapes. Lines and curves combined together. Those shapes create patterns that repeat in many cases, like the common patterns of a car (wheels, lights, trunk, engine, chasis). No matter the age, you will see those, you only need to bend the shame shapes and add some details. Then you have a different car! And with that in mind, you can use perspective to bend the car itself and make it look more interesting in the draw. It's the first time I've heard aboit the felt tip pen. But it's something I'm going to try out. I'm very insecure with my lining and I always end up using more lines than needed, making my draws look more sketchy than clean. Building confidence with the tool you use to draw is also important. It takes time, but once you get the grasp of it, it's satisfying. Finding your style is another really important matter, and the use of inspirations over time can really get you there. I'm really keeping this video in one of my lists. And I'm looking forward to preview some of that perspective course!
I just got to the point of finally being able to “use” all this knowledge I’ve been collecting from the past 3 months… the hardest part of it was not being able to “merge” it all together to get the desired results. I can’t lie… it felt like I was a “fraud” of an artist for a very long time. xD
Will Marshall's course, cover complex environments, architecture, organic environment, etc... backrounds are my main crutch, I have tried books like, perspective made easy, scott robertson and even erik olson 100+ hours course nma and still have a hard time with backround and environments.
Marshall's perspective course will be laying the groundwork for you to be able to do complex environments, which might make those resources you listed off more approachable.
Absolutely! Our Drawing Basics course is a great place to start for absolute beginners or intermediate artists looking to brush up on their fundamentals. You can find out more about that one at www.proko.com/drawing
The Drawing Basics course would be a good place to start. And Proko has a lot of free content too, so if you can't afford it, at least check out the free videos and do the assignments that go along with them.
We don't have access to do multiple languages audio tracks yet but are prepared to launch several when UA-cam gives us the ability. For now, subtitles are available in Hindi.
I'm pursuing different subject matter, but I was so inspired by this video. One thing I want to draw is symbolic/ metaphor figures, & also angels. I see so many stiff, frontal view angels on resources like pinterest. This just reminded me/ added to my vision of visual expression, feeling, something alive, that you can feel, connect to. I was wondering what to do with my drawing effort now, as I grabbed a book of angels from the library. I'm going to mess with this action/ foreshortening/ expressiveness... while also 1st getting the logical sense. Thanks.
Another wonderful lesson. This is hands down the best youtube channel in any category right now in my humble opinion. The lessons, the wisdom, the vibe. Its good. Its helped me as i have restarted my art journey in the last few weeks. God bless this channel and all who work on it
This guy really thinks that his snow leopard looks a real one? Absolutely not, not a mile close. It looks like a 10 years old cat with a catatonic disease right before they put it down to an eternal sleep. What a shame! Snow leopard is a magnificent animal with an exquisite grace and strong spirit. The skill to draw some mediocre characters for mediocre comics doesn't make you an artist.
A huge thanks to Peter for these demos! If you want to get better at drawing in perspective check out the Drawing Basics course - proko.com/drawing
I bought this course a month ago, and honestly you should go and get it because the content is gold ❤
He's not only good at drawing, he's also quick and clear on explanation
Hey Proko, i know you probably have had this type of comment before but all I'm just going to say is _thank you_
I live this too sometimes I just plainly want to thank to my youtuber fellas. Good to know I'm not alone 😂
Proko saved my life 😅
Proko is so awesome and cool
My body is ready for that perspective course

Peter's an impressively quick artist. In this video and the second half of this demo, he talked about how he built up that skill.
What perspective has gesture too?

hi
Good)
Become more expensive. Not to stay restricted in the rules.
Dude drawing an entire complex object and THEN adding structure lines...
1 hour early
Fix your proportions early.... Well then.
Kind of like a fish-eye camera.
Please dubbed Hindi

Peter's a great teacher!
algum brasileiro???
When drawing a snow-leopard it's imperative that you draw a clouded-leopard instead. ;)
Thank you, this is ironically EXACTLY what I’m trying to fix with my drawing rn.
