I want Josh Hartnett to be the next Knives Out 3 casting announcement.
God yes.
Either him, Miles Teller or Sam Rockwell would be great!
Or the 4th season WHITE LOTUS
Second
@@cosmicblue529Sam Rockwell is Absolutely amazing! Gotta politely disagree on Teller
Oh wow, Josh Hartnett revival, let's go
lets fucking goooooo
Well if he wanted to take on leading men roles he'd have to go to the gym .
@@Shadowman820what narrow world do you live in
@@Shadowman820he good
@@NaijaCINE You know how it is , leading men usually have to be jacked these days .
I still have feeeeeelings for this man all these years later 😅
me too almost my age. but i look like his father. moooothherrrffff---------
Same
I'm WITH you lol; discovering this while watching
Yep. ❤
SAME 💯
Shame Penny Dreadful wasn’t mentioned, he gave such a knockout performance in that.
I was thinking the same although I suppose they limit it only to movies? Would be great to hear some of his thoughts on it - loved that series.
Penny Dreadful! The beginning of the intro of his character would have been awesome! That series is something else! Intense and dang!
Petition for a prequel to Penny Dreadful with his character's backstory
Agree! Penny Dreadful was a brilliant! So damn underrated and unappreciated.
Underrated show, he played the wolfman perfectly
30 Days of Night is super underrated! I’ve always loved that movie.
I was literally about to comment this lol. I rewatched it during the intense Buffalo blizzard on 12/23/2022.
🙌
I think if you like horror movies to any extent and you’ve watched 30 Days of Night you know immediately it’s as good as a horror movie can get.
That movie scared me
Maybe he no longer remembers all his lines or what movie they're from, but he remembers all the important things - his respect of the people he worked for and with, the stories he experienced with them, the amazing life he's lived and the incredible people that remain in his heart. I adore this guy.
You took the words right outta my mouth. What a wonderful human being. (Btw, I remembered all the lines. 😆)
This guy needs to be in more movies
He was offered a lot of money to be in even more leading roles, but he refused to sign any contract and kinda relaxed with the money he did earn. It's cool to see him in a major movie again, I grew up watching this guy in lead roles
He was great in penny dreadful!
He's in M. Night Shyamalan's next movie.
@@gistvisionsyes looking forward to that!
@@ericake88 likewise!!!
Josh is my childhood crush. I will always love this guy. He seems very cool and wise.. ❤
My friend dated him for a hot minutes yearsssss ago haa
@@redthunder7118 stopppp. Share something please 😭😭
@@jennasanders5101 haaa she said he had acne and was a big nerd lol! Her loss! Lol
@@redthunder7118 he gives that vibe (in an endearing way) but SOME of us would appreciate that about him haha. But hey, she’s still lucky
@@jennasanders5101 it was right before he started getting famous, cool story though, I've always been a fan :)
Josh Hartnett... he's the definition of my childhood as he is my ultimate childhood crush! Every 90s girls knows how he is such a heartthrob! ❤
😍😍
Man this is a trip for me. In my early 20s Hartnett was a big star. 30 days of night, the faculty and H20 are still big hits for me
Check out some more recent roles 2019 Inherit the Viper, 2021, Ida Red, Black Mirror, The Fear Index series and Oppenheimer all in 2023😁
@@mgariepy42 I will. I appreciate it
How old are you now?
I just adore Josh. Always have. He seems so down to earth and mellow.
Me too. Love him.
The Faculty is one of my all time favorites. Great intro sequence. Rodriguez in his best form.
What a sweetheart, he seems like such a normal guy, just living life. And thank you for the great advice!
He's more cheerful and chill than I thought he would be. Good to see him back.
Yes he’s more cheerful now in his older age. He seemed more shy in interviews when he was younger.
@@ericake88He hated doing them then. Remember, this is when he had paparazzi camped out at his house, fangirls chasing him down the street, hiding in the trunk of the car when he wanted to go someplace. He did FIVE films in 2 years. He probably wasn’t shy, just miserable 😂
He needs to be in more roles. He seems to have taken good care of himself (unlike most A list male actors) and is a fab actor. Would like to see him in more films in these upcoming years.
He’s always said he chooses only films that are different and interesting for him. That’s why he wanted to do independent and/or foreign films. Nolan said he was “excited to get him” (Oppenheimer) because he is always stretching himself in making his choices. He’s done at least one film a year, sometimes 2 or 3, for 20+ years. He’s a multimillionaire. So I don’t think he’s scrambling to get mainstream movies 😂
40 days and 40 nights is one of my fav movies, it’s shot really nice
Great movie
Our Minnesota boy! Love him! 30 Days of Nights and the Faculty are my two favorite movies from him. He picks great projects. I’ve seen mostly all of his movies.
Love this man 😍Still so handsome and he seems very wise and humble. Has a lot of hidden gems in his filmography too like Oh Lucy.
We watched Inherit the Viper (2019) and Ida Red (2021) recently. He’s an amazing actor.
He is my longest-standing Hollywood crush. I'll watch absolutely anything he's in
Me too!
me too!
Me, too! I’ve watched everything he’s made and that’s a LOT of movies 😅
Saaaameee
he's so hot but also minnesota nice
Been watching this dude for 25 years and always had hopes that he would come out of the pretty boy handle that been placed on him. Elated to see him rise up and become a sought after and highly appreciated actor. Keep it up Josh 🎉
Yes! We’ve watched most of his films over the past 20 years, indies mostly, and he is just an amazing versatile actor. And what a great guy.
Gosh! It's so lovely to see a different side of Josh. I remember the late 90s and early 2000s when Josh was a big heart-throb and was regularly a common name that popped up. I don't know if many people are aware - at the time when Black Dahlia came out he and Scarlett Johansson were a thing. When the movie tanked, something lead to the other and they had a public break up. The medi unlike today was so vile and daring and just asked really intrusive questions (birth of TMZ). I think post that entire debacle, Josh understood how his life and choices is no longer private because public writes things were half of the things aren't true. Post that he has always maintained a distance and was happy to be his own person. So good to see him rejuvenated, happy and a simple smile without baggage.
Omg he still looks amazing!
30 Days of Night is one of best horror movies of all time.
Dude he’s been one of my favorite actors since Black Hawk Down and Lucky Number Slevin. Underrated. He also killed it in his episode of Black Mirror.
“Beyond the Sea” will be a classic. Check out the interview video. I ran across an article earlier where he said being a father helped him show David’s grief. Also his wife won’t watch it. “She doesn’t like the killing kids thing.” 😅
@@mgariepy42 That episode is a certified classic for sure! I will look up that article/interview. I can’t blame his wife. 😂
98-03. Those 5 years were the best. Not only because we had great bands, movies and games but most importantly we had no social media. Completely destroying humanity.
Black Mirror & Trap his best roles yet - he just keeps getting more amazing !!
I'm so glad to see Josh Hartnet again!
I see how once he got started and relaxed, he began to put the words to the story. So interesting his stories are.
I loved how he didn’t toss or throw the cards like a lot of other people do. He also looks great
Yeah. Seems like a humble guy.
Virgin Suicides, The Faculty, Halloween H2O, Wicker Park, Sin City, August- 🙌🏼
Highly recommend Penny Dreadful! He’s sooooo good in that show
Sin city? I can't remember him in that for some reason.
@@AA-ed6ek He was the Assassin, bookending the movie. He did the voiceover for those two scenes😊
Oh my! When he was younger, he had this boy charm hamdsomeness. Now, he is just so man man man!😍
I liked him but was never a major fan of his films back in the day, but I’m a major fan of this version of him. He seems so grounded in reality and truly knows who he is, what he’s happy to do, and what he refuses to do. And the guy aged crazy well…
Way to go, Josh! Happy to see you doing more mainstream projects again 🙏🏻
Such an Underrated actor. He has so many great qualities as an actor and Great movies.
I love his voice. And I loved him in Faculty. This was really really interesting.
Josh....you're a delightful human being 🥰🤗💙
Damn. I was hoping he's be given a line from "Halloween H20".
He won’t talk about it. He refuses to do interviews about it and absolutely will not do conventions about the movie. He’s ashamed of it and pretty much has said people are not allowed to ask him about the movie.
@@Trekapedia Why is he ashamed of it? (Asking genuinely of course)
@@solo_lebeau he doesn’t like being known for it and thinks he’s better than Halloween. He said it was embarrassing to be in it.
@@Trekapedia ah okay. Thank you :)
@@solo_lebeau very welcome. I’m disappointed in him. Oh it’s embarrassing. Oh well, not all of us agree with him.
I’ve been in love with this man since I was 14..
Seems like a great guy. I’m from MN and lots of people here are proud of him even though we have never met him.
90’s early 2000’s heartthrob 😂😂 my sister loved him growing up.
Thanks to Josh and everyone at Variety! 💎
Loving the walk down memory lane with Josh Hartnett! Had a huge crush on him in the early 00s and happy to see him back in big movies again.
"O" and Wicker Park are two of my favorite Josh Hartnett films
Josh is great. It's nice to see him coming back.
Wow, he seems so genuine! And damn did he age well!
Missed him, such a talent!!
Glad he is back and at it
I love seeing the resurgence of Josh Hartnett, one of my biggest crushes & just talented actor!!!
Glad hes been given a chance to star again and get the recognition he deserves
Lucky Number Slevin is one of those films I can watch time and time again. Films like Shooter, Limitless, Looper etc. Just really easy to watch and solid.
Lucky Number Slevin is one of the greatest films than nobody seems to ever know.
He seems like just a dude who happens to act. Love it.
30 days of night is one of the greatest vampire flicks. IMAO
Underrated!!!
Lucky Number Slevin was a gib surprise for me...i bought it on DVD in a cheap shop and i love it. I was very impressed and i wondered why i never heard of it
I love Josh! He is such an interesting guy and it's nice to see all the love and appreciation he receives whenever an article/interview with him pops up.
I think his career choices are fascinating and bold. Among my favorites are I Come With The Rain, August, Oh Lucy! and Ida Red.
He more than once proved himself to be a versatile and really good actor. So people, go check out his diverse work! I'm looking forward to all of his future projects! ❣
I might have posted that myself😂 I read an interview about how Hung directed I Come With the Rain, bonkers! And Josh in the Special Features so cool. It’s hard to watch, tho. I have to skip “ those” scenes.😮 I too love the versatility of the guy (and Nolan praised him for that). Penny Dreadful and The Fear Index tv series aside, my favorite performances are #1 August (omg that scene with Bowie), #2 O, #3 Ida Red, #4 Lucky Number Slevin , and #5 Bunraku. Even in some of the not very good films (The Lovers, The Ottoman Lieutenant for example) his performances are spot on. I have a sweet spot for him acing a Yorkshire accent in Blow Dry and a Scottish one in Lovers.😊 He’s always trying different roles. I think we have started a fan club in this thread 😂
@@mgariepy42 And I agree on everything you said.🙌🏼😁 so yes, we absolutely could start a Hartnett fan club😂 Loved Bunraku/Penny Dreadful/Fear Index too! Do you know the podcast ‚We Heart Hartnett‘? it’s from 2018 but it’s great and very funny! three guys talking about him and all of his movies. They renamed it later to ‚Can’t get enough of Keanu‘ (Reeves) as they picked him after Josh but the episodes are all still available. Highly recommend 😉
@@mrselbendadi is that the name of the podcast? I bet it’s back with the Hartnaissance! 😁
@@mgariepy42 Yes, it’s called ‚Can’t get enough of Keanu‘ 😊
I had a BIG crush on him when I was younger. He was hot in the late 90's and early 00's then never heard of him after that. It's nice seeing him again
One of my favorite actors very underated 😊😊
Just glad he's back
My sister loved Josh Hartnett as I’m sure all the girls do at the time. Glad to see his revival.
Some of us older girls still love ❤️ him, too.😊
I've always liked Josh Hartnett. He has a decent filmography in his career. And for a short time, he managed to be the lead actor in some movies. But haven't seen him in any movies or series for a long time until the more recent Penny dreadful, black mirror and Oppenheimer. And now he's the lead again in the upcoming M Night Shamalan film. I'm very happy for him and can't wait for more of his revival haha. Let's go Josh! 👍👍✨👏
You haven’t seen him in mainstream movies. He’s been doing independent films shown in art houses for 20+ years. Some are streaming. Check his filmography.
Lucky Number Slevin is one of the best written films.
Put this man in a good western right now.
Have you seen Bunraku(2010)? He plays The Drifter, a parody of The Man With No Name. The film is beautifully bizzaro, a spaghetti Western, samurai quest, and martial artsy Broadway musical. Won a prize at TIFF but hardly distributed here. You can watch it on UA-cam. Hartnett, Gackt, Woody Harrelson, Ron Perlman, Kevin McKidd and Demi Moore. They are having a ball. 😂
This conglomeration of cultures and origins gives us a full spectrum of behaviors and uniqueness of the characters played by Josh, and like any actor with a distinctive sound, he will delight viewers with various levels of artistic sensitivity, because the way of being and the acting itself is the icing on the cake of fame for everyone who respects and appreciates the art of its inherent attribute is improvisation.
He has not aged at all eoe
This is so funny. I was watching Pearl Harbor last night and wondering how Josh was doing. He looks good!
how was he not popular is high school he's gorgeous
As someone who grew up on 90's and early 2000's everything he was one of my childhood crushes 🙊
loved him in H20, the Faculty and 30 days of Nights im so glad hes making a comeback ❤
No comeback! He’s been making great independent films for over 20 years!
He still got it ladies! ❤😂
The older he gets the more he starts to look like a young Tommy Lee Jones.
Man, I had (and I still do have) a big crush on young TLJ.
JH still looks great.
And his last comment.. Aww ❤ so true.
I've always thought so!
Yes but hottee lol
I was hoping they did certain movies and they did and the last one i was waiting for he guessed so fast i was like that sounds like it could be....and he got it. I enjoyed his stories for each movie as well 👍🏾
One of the most handsome male actors of our generation
Hollywood homicide was so underrated love the film 🤍🤍
Very happy to see him come back.
I was down bad for this man back in the day 😂
You can hear he now has a slight English accent with the way he says certain words. I actually knew someone who went to high school with him in at South in Mpls 😊
Beautiful man. I just watched Wicker Park. Cool movie
Never seen it! I should give it a watch
Watching him in the 90's, I never expected him to turn into Charles "Death Wish" Bronson
We have entered the Harnettaissance. Let's goooo!!!
Wish they would have done a wicker park one I hope to see him in more romances ❤️
Lucky Number Slevin and 30 Days of Night are top top tier movies
My favorite Josh Hartnett character will always be Zeke from The Faculty!
LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN!!! best movie
Lucky Number Slevin is one of my all time favorite movies. That and Pearl Harbor.
The faculty, the movie I fell instantly head over heels for him... or should I say for the back of his jeans. Because yep was even before seeing his face!
30 days of night. Fucken epic
What a cool dude! I forgot how much I was infatuated with him as a teen girl, maybe that’s not right, but he was one of my first boy crush’s ever! Now I realize how great of an actor he was and still is today! ❤🙌✨
The fact that they didnt do a Halloween: H20 quote is a crime.
He won’t let them. He tells interviewers they can’t bring it up and refuses to do conventions about it as well. He wouldn’t let a documentary about its legacy use more than one clip even though the proceeds went to charity. He’s ashamed and also, he was asked to do a convention where the money went to charity and he refused, saying he’s ashamed of the movie and doesn’t have to do anything for anyone and doesn’t owe the fans anything. Nice person.
30 days of night for me is his Best movie
Aww wow his voice isn’t as deep as it used to be! So great to see him after awhile😊
I mean, he was and still is cool as fuck. I loved him in Halloween H2O and The Faculty. I remember bunking off school one Friday to go collect The Faculty on VIDEO TAPE! 😄 Which I'd pre-ordered with my mothers video-rental-card. Christ, those weekends were better than the weekends I have now; and I'm 38!
I’ve been in love with him for soooo long!!! ❤
Glad to see him back in the mainstream again. He was a star with a promising future alongside Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in the early 2000s...
Hartnett was method acting for an in The Faculty without knowing it. Love that movie.
We need to make a movie soon lol😢
I will always love this guy😍
I swear it doesn’t get mentioned much. Lucky Number Slevin is one of his greatest movies.
My own recipe guarantee to jack you up. Zeke Taylor the Faculty (1998)
the man is iconic
He was the biggest star in world at one point
And why he escaped after his studio contract expired! We’ve loved his work for 20+ years. He’s led the best life he always wanted. Happy as a clam living in England countryside with wife and four kids. And a multimillionaire.😊
Black Hawk Down was fantastic!!
