This is absolutely the best tech pouch, always stands up beautifully and the size is perfect. I basically carry around a charger, mouse, large power bank, slim SSD external hard drive (Samsung T7), two long charging cables, a few extra dongles, and these items fit into this pouch so that it's nicely packed up, each item has its own pocket and everything is super accessible because of how widely it opens and how it stands up. Those mesh pockets inside are fantastic. And I can add wired earbuds in the exterior pocket.
Nice pouch, nice alternative if you don't want to carry around something as big as the Peak Design Tech Pouch, I would love a smaller Peak Design Tech Pouch.
I've been using the Tom Bihn Side Effect for about 2 years now. It is perfect as a "man purse". Super carry friendly and I can sling it over my shoulder for a motorcycle ride, strap it to my bike handlebars, or carry it fanny pack style.
From my user experience with the Day Sling 2, i think the stretching top fabric on the liner pocket is for added ease of taking/putting things into that pocket.
I'm not sure if this was the design intent of the handle on this bag (and the split kit), but I this it has a pretty convenient UX purpose for my case. I like to use it to organize everything I need with my laptop for work travel... so combined with my city pack, I like that I can drop this into the large/deep main compartment and let it fall to the bottom and reach for the handle to grab it out. That leverage helps if you have anything else crammed in there and need to pull it free with some force. Also frees up the main organization panel on the backpack for stuff I need more immediate access to when traveling (airpods, phone charger/battery, etc). I guess it's also nice to just have a handle to carry the bag... more comfortable than grabbing the body of the bag while full, and doesnt really take up any volume being a flat strap. I also keep a nylon carbiner attached to the outside of my bag, which this could attach to if I overfill the interior of my bag (which I've never realistically had to do.. but cool to have that option)
Great review! I am looking for a sling bag for a small wallet, a pair of Rayban, keys, phone and maybe some suncream. Do you thing that this one or the Alapka tech case mini, even the Alapka modular sling could do the job. I really want something small :) Cheers from France, Lionel
Hi, nice review! But I´m not sure if my big ass power-supply unit (Lenovo, 6.3*2.9*3.2 inch) and mouse (Logitech MX Master 2.5*3.3*1.9 inch) fits. What do you guys think? I don't like this huge tech pouches!
@@PackHacker2 Thanks for the response! Just watched the video on that. Seems like a handy little tripod, except I'm now using MagSafe and can't think of going back. The little pouch caught my eye, as it looks like it could be used for something like carrying Ledger Nano devices. Too bad they don't sell them as standalone products. I would definitely pick up a couple if they did. Take care.
I really wanted to have the Aer Slim Pouch. So I ordered it, paid for it but I never got it. I got scammed. I live nomadic and am in Kenya right now. Aer used UPS and in the employees from UPS and G4S in Kenya told me to pay them, so they forward my Package. After that they stopped talking with me and lied to me. I had to get a local to communicate with them, because I am White and they want money, they got silence. The local told me they want 100 USD to forward the package and every day the price goes up. They opened it and if I don't pay they will keep it. Slim pouch was 39 USD and 20 USD shipping. So I lost my money, my slim pouch and I am quite upset. I maybe make a Video about it, but do not order if you are in Kenya, if it goes over UPS. You will not receive or pay a lot of money. 😢 It must be a very nice pouch, I will not be a owner...
@@andreadelgado3191 I am not in Kenya anymore. I already left the country. Thank you ... I received many packages over DHL, with them everything went fine, exept my new phone, the delivery man wanted to have 5 USD for his work. So I gave him. But all other packages were ok, except the UPS one. The Posta told me it is normal with UPS that they scam you. The situation is that I ask Aer if they would be so kind and replace me the costs, so I will order it later again when I am in the USA or Europe. I live nomadic and I am always in a different place, but Kenya I been longer and I made a test Order over Amazon. That Test Order worked great, so I made all the other orders to replace broken and "lost" stuff. But this Pouch didn't make it through and the Kenyans are extremely good in scamming others. So I will see how this will end up.
It's amazing how long this video is for a very small bag that is more like a pencil case than a tech pouch. There is simply not that much to say about it. It has the usual Aer high quality but one can argue that the bag does not need to be so durable since it'll be carried inside other bags. (Yes, I've seen and handled it in person.)
@@heyjoetofu yeah... you got a point there.. well, it is just I have the aer city sling and use it daily! and I just love it! the only thin missing in it's design IMO, are to little straps on the underbelly of the bag (which could be removable) to attach a water bottle or a wind breaker jacket, but other that it is an amazing sling bag.
@@heyjoetofu ? You can put the City sling on your desk. The pouch is very much like a pencil case, and there are great pencil cases out there that can sit up on your desk.

this was the most helpful review/comment ive seen. ive been tryna see if its big enough for a mouse and everythign so thanks man
I see that loop handle being more useful to help pull it out of a larger bag, which is nice of them to think of.

Get the Field Pouch then! Great for a few accessories and is pretty slim as well
@@SegerGiesbers Still too big although I wouldn't mind a smaller version of that either.

I love that they have introduced Olive!

Just bought this and the aer commuter brief 2. Can’t wait to catch some flights with these lol
What a duo! For sure, it'll be great to test these out on the road. Let us know how you get on with them. 🙌

Finally!!! Been waiting for it to be released!!!
Does the Logitech mx master 3 fit into the internal stretch pocket?

Did it fit?
@@parmn5985 it's a tight fit for sure but i was able to get it in.
how does it store inside the main compartment or the front compartment of the AER Day Sling 2? Thanks!
I wish more backpacks could stand up on their own like this pouch...
Will a MacBook Pro charger extension cord fit in the middle?

Between this one and the Bellroy Tech?
Will the main compartment hold an iPad Mini?
Would the Logitech MX master 3 mouse fit comfortably in the pouch?

I don't really see the point on buying this when you could just buy the City sling which is a masterpiece and is just a tad bigger
Well, it has a completely different use case. This is a pouch, that's supposed to be put on your desk, the other a full-fledged sling.
