hey guys it looks like you CAN beat shantotto here! you just need a mirage with gravity and the only one with that is a sandworm! Beating Shantotto gives you an alternate dialogue(trying to fight her the regular way is likely suicide so bring a sandworm mirage and gravity counter her to death)
Let me guess she pulls her usual annoying trait of That fight didn't count it was decoy... cause her Large but rather fragile Ego can't take the idea that you a outsmarted her or b kicked her ass
I was losing the first part of the battle so I raged quit to look up a strategy to beat her.. I should have known it was supposed to happen lol Thanks for the video
Zekromtrainer12 He's shown more brainpower, albeit probably accidentally, in that one scene than the rest of the game entirely. Though I'd have thought they'd have learned not to open strange gates by now...
They got Shantotto's laugh wrong... they (assuming) got the same voice actress from Dissidia, but have her laugh with 'a~hah' instead of "o~hoh." Minor peeve, but it just doesn't sound right :(
That's what her tribe does, some speak like Ned Flanders (Diddly), other's do it the kupo way (without kupo, but something else), most of the tribe speak in rhymes.
I don't have the game, but I'm no stranger to Final Fantasy titles: how did you survive her attacks? Doesn't she simply have ridicoulously high strength/magic/defense?

Phase 1: Turn away from her.
Phase 2: Run away...really really fast!

Confirmed I was able to defeat her the other day. the first 2 gravity's each took off 90k hp.
Lann is quite the smooth operator.

with shantotto threatening to murder them, no amount of prior knowledge of dangerous gate opening would have stopped them.
Plus even if they didn't open it would have killed them all anyway. They were screwed either way.

I killed Shantotto . her HP 360000 and gave exp only 100000 .Drop item 3 Magalixir and 3 Mega Phoenix.
