I have bought the Flip 6 and have to say: "It Sounds very, very great! I'm very impressed!" I got also the Flip 4 and have to say the Flip 6 sounds fuller, rounder. Don't get it wrong, the Flip 4 was really good, but the Flip 6 sounds more balanced, better bass and has more power, especially in the bass range. Very good: "You have a strong, clear sound but you don't have the to harsh upper mid's/highs of the Flip 4!" It sounds really, really good. I'm very impressed! I've been waiting for the 'perfect' portable stereo pair since the first UE Boom and many speakers inbetween (also 2x Flip 3) and as soon as I saw this review I got a pair of Flip 6, the size of a pair of Charge held me off. For individual immersive stereo listening with extremely flexible placement due to size, it is very hard to beat. I'm sure I can trick friends saying I have a new hi-fi system and hide these in the corners of the sofa, and the immersion and even base will trick them I got a pretty awesome system 10x the price. Obviously doesn't work with very deep bass heavy songs, but for 'normal' songs the immersion, soundstage and even bass of these set-up closeby in stereo is very hard to beat for the money and convenience.
I have the charge 5 and the flip 6 here. The charge is at low levels slightly more powerfull in bass, but lacks some sort of upperbass. The Flip 6 is really impressive here. At around 50 to 60% the Charge 5 pulls away from the flip, retaining more bass and playing a bit deeper. In general, the GG model of the flip 6 i have the sound is bit bright, and reducing the highs to -1 in the app was also what i was doing. Playing from 60 to 100% both speakers start to "scream" and become too loud for my small room indoor. This "screaming" is represented in the frequency response curves, which oluv took with different sound levels. At a certain point of loudness, the bass just stays at its level, and only mids ands highs are rising.

Keep in mind that there are many different versions of Flip 5 ( TL,GG, CS,TT made in separate factories) and there is rather big sound difference between them ( TL being best by far). The quality control varies also. I have two identical Flip 5's, both TL version and even they don't sound the same, one is better. Because of that " better one" I have returned Charge 5 cause it was not really happy with it. By the way, thank you for using REAL music and not some terrible digital sounds music !!!! For a party with a little more volume, the Charge 4 is my first choice. Since the Bose, the Flip 3 and Flip 5 hardly work anymore, but the Flip 5 is very good for parties in the garden or on the beach, so every speaker has its area of use . I switched on the low frequency on the Flip 5, but then you can't turn it up too loud, but it sounds a lot better. PS: My apologies, I wrote this using Google translator

Great video. Flip 6 clearly an improvement. However ... all the JBL products I've owned or tried have needed a lot of EQ to tame the upper mids and treble to sound less fierce and strident, even when the basic electrical/mechanic ingredients seem perfectly good. Someone working at JBL has wool in their ears!
The flip 6 definitely has better sound overall and louder bass, but the flip 5 has a deeper bass response that's very noticeable in electronic music or any music with sub bass. I'm upset because i wanted to upgrade from my flip 5 but the low end frequency response is a top priority for me. Looking at frequency response graphs the flip 5 goes 7hz lower than the flip 6. That's just inexcusable for a newer model.
Flip 6 absolutely better soundstage, defined instruments that sound real. Fuller sound with definition. Flip 5 everything sounds like it's coming from the corner of my garage. Mushy is a great word but also slightly stale. No contest. Flip 6.

I'm using my Charge 2+ until it's dead. The battery is degraded but still it works fine

charg 5 is realy great i just have buyd one . usb typ C and great sound with great Bass

Some people say that Charge 5 doesn't have the boomy bass like on the Soundlink Flex
But regardless, Charge 5 still has more bass than Soundlink flex because of its cabinet size and power output.

I got both the filp 6 and the filp 5. And i love both of them . Except the filp 6 sound way way better then the filp 5.

Does JBL provide batteries that are sold separately (spare parts)?
They likely use a 18650 or similar standardized battery part you can replace
they might use a lipo battery pack. I'm guessing it's either 3.7v or 7.4v

I don't know from where you're getting your frequency responses but that's not a reliable source, Flip 6 goes deeper than Flip 5
