Electrical tape is recommended for securing your transducer cable to your trolling motor. If you use cable ties like I did be sure not to overtighten them!! This can damage the transducer cable
@@jamiebailey605 only if you over tighten them and it's very obvious that you use them and over tightened them.. that's why he went back and left this comment to say if you do use them do not over tighten them but Garmin recommends using electrical tape
Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been saving for livescope, and a big part of the cost is installation. You just got me about $800 closer!! Thanks Kevin!!
I have a ranger 178 the storage bin in front of driver console is like ice chest material may not be strong enough to mount gls10 to the bottom with self tapping screws
I think it will interesting to have a different look at the waters you have been fishing for years and see the big ones that have been there all along.
How did you run your trans wires from peddle to storage box.what did you use to grad wires to guide from inside deck to storage box.l have a ranger rt178
I held out on it for a long time but I finally decided to take the plunge. I definitely don't plan on staring at it though. I am going to keep my content the same as usual
check out amped outdoors lithium batteries , you could get the 20ah $140 and it will power your uhd 93sv and gls 10 for a full day of fishing / full tournament day every time no problem, it will save you from having to charge multiple dewalts and switching batteries on the water .. Awesome vid brother , have fun with the scope its a bad ass tool to have on the boat 🤙
Some people do, but you risk interference and also draining your battery down. The best way is to isolate the black box to its own power source if possible
I have the same exact boat but in black and red. Love the videos dude. 12:02 You’ll enjoy that Ampd 30AH. I used to power my livescope with 18v Milwaukee batteries which got me around 4 hours. I still just run the wires from inside that lid and took the latch out and down the gunnel. Is there a hole through that foam where you drilled that hole to get to the side of the pedal tray??
Awesome! I’ll take the ultrex foot pedal out and route it that way. Keep up the solid content. I’m in Iowa just tinkering on the boat in the garage waiting for ice out in March.
Kevin, Why couldnt you unscrew the tm pedal tray? Lift it out, drill your holes and install bolts and nuts to secure the graph mount instead of the self tappers.
That's awesome I have mine run the same way. Except I use milwaukee 8amp and the conversion kit is call sealite. Been running it that away for over 2yrs now.
Just came across this video I have a 16ft crestliner that I turned into a bass boat (it is very nice) and thinking about adding livescope to my set up,,,I’m running a garmin 93sv up on the bow with a Minkota terrova and another 93sv on the back,,,I can afford to buy a livescope set up but I’m also thinking about how it will affect my fishing long term. I don’t want to fully Rely on livescope but I also don’t want to lie to myself saying I’ll only use it ‘sometimes’ when I am out on the lake
How you use it is entirely up to you. Its easy to get "engrossed" in just staring at the screen all day but you have to refrain from that. Its awesome technology but you dont want it to change your style of fishing. I am a shallow water, power fisherman by nature so I only use it in certain situations
It looks great except you wanna use electrical tape instead of zip ties when running the wires on the shaft of your trolling motor. Zip ties can pinch wires
@@GunnFishTV I'm not 100% sure about this but I've heard that using zip ties will void your Garmin warranty. Very clean and smart install! Nice job Kevin.
Nope I've never stated my opinion on it on my channel. I don't love it personally but it has become a part of bass fishing so I decided it was time to move forward
Waiting to see if you’re staring down at your electronics as your fishing. I think it takes away from the experience. Will wait to hear your thoughts. Keeping in mind, 2yrs from now, you’re stuff is obsolete.
I always stare at my electronics when I fish. Even before I had livescope. I always pay attention to the depth, contour changes, fish, etc. You just can't really tell it from my angle. I learned to fish with no electronics so I've got plenty of knowledge without them. Some of the younger fisherman won't he able to say that though
I'm not going to stare at it lol. I'm a shallow water fisherman and that will never change. But some days you have to fish deep and this will help on those particular days
How is live scope not “keeping it real?” As a shallow water guy myself, it’s almost impossible to use in shallow water. You are limited to anything deeper than 6ft. Nevertheless, I’ve got live scope on my boat. Plus, just because you can see them doesn’t mean that you can catch them, trust me.

They say Garmin will not warranty on the cable if you use zip ties

Glad I could help
Awesome installation very clean and it takes up no room. Thanks for sharing.
Hey thanks for your time brother. Really appreciate you sharing all your secrets.
Nice Set-up.🎣
What other options do I have besides
Main battery compartment
I have a ranger 178 the storage bin in front of driver console is like ice chest material may not be strong enough to mount gls10 to the bottom with self tapping screws
That may not be strong enough....the 178 and 188 are slightly different on the drivers side of the boat
I think it will interesting to have a different look at the waters you have been fishing for years and see the big ones that have been there all along.
Probably make me mad lol
So if I run 24v kobolt battery adapter, do I need a voltage regulator?
I know they are supposed to be rated up to 25 volts per Garmin but I would check to be sure. I know 20V is fine
Any idea what size wire Ranger ran to the front buss bar
I believe it is no larger than 10 Gauge. I honestly believe it is 12 gauge
How did you run your trans wires from peddle to storage box.what did you use to grad wires to guide from inside deck to storage box.l have a ranger rt178
Its wide open from the peddle to the box. It isnt any foam there, so you can just reach from under the pedal tray to the storage box
@@GunnFishTV Thanks
When you installed your gls10 was the bottom of storage bin aluminum or fiberglass
The bottom is carpeted aluminum
Awesome Kevin. I can’t wait to get this for my boat I mean why not right??!! Lol
I held out on it for a long time but I finally decided to take the plunge. I definitely don't plan on staring at it though. I am going to keep my content the same as usual
Is that new 30ah lithium going to power the graph also or just strictly the transducer still?

Funny you said that because I actually have a company sending me a 30ah lithium and that is how I am going to run it!
@@GunnFishTV 🤣 Hell Yea thats awesome man! Lithium is the way to go! Thats really cool man!
Is that a factory oem trolling motor tray? The 23s look less durable
Yes this is factory. It is a fairly thick fiberglass
The SEELITE adapter for Dewalt 20 v /60v Lithium Battery. I used the config and seems no problems.
Can you add link (or send to me) which 8.0 AH batteries that you ordered to have longer battery life?
Why not run the black box off the house battery?
Some people do, but you risk interference and also draining your battery down. The best way is to isolate the black box to its own power source if possible
Good video. thanks for sharing
I see BassPro offers a package with a Garmin and forward transducer. Is this what you used???
I ordered mine from the GPS Store online but Bass Pro may be running a package deal as well
Were you able to access the bus bar by taking out the foot pedal recess? or is there some other access point?
Only by removing the foot pedal tray. These boats have no other access

It's no foam right along the rod tube so you can run the wires no problem
I just switched to a 30ah lithium today

Kevin, Why couldnt you unscrew the tm pedal tray? Lift it out, drill your holes and install bolts and nuts to secure the graph mount instead of the self tappers.
You could it is just hard to access the screws with the Over the Pedal mount.

How long will it run on that 8Ah battery?
@@Mark-dk4ck about 7 to 7 1/4 hours. Also your image is so clear and a bit lager than if you had run it on 12volt.
I actually run my black box and my unit on one each I just keep an extra battery for my black box if I fish a tournament.

20v drill battery for better clarity?
So they say.....I'm not positive it makes a huge difference but mine is really clear
@@GunnFishTV might be an opportunity to let us know the difference between a 12v (traditional) battery and your setup
Nice video and set-up. How long will your black box run on a single drill battery that you have installed?
The 6ah last between 3 to 4 hours depending on temperature. I have some 8ah on the way so I'm expecting 5 plus hours out of those

You are correct on that failed to mention if you used them to leave them lose. Mine are super lose for that reason

@Danny B. in the instructions it says you can use zip ties but electric tape is recommended. I meant to mention that my ties are extremely loose
I read where 20v will damage your unit over time
Some units arent made to run on 15 plus volts, however, Garmin says you can run them on 20V with no problem. They are rated for up to 24V
Coulda sworn you had a video saying you were against it

Not judging, just think it changes the viewer experience. Seems like if you got enough money, you don’t need to learn how to fish.
