“The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies”
- Obi-Wan
putin also said this ironic huh
And Obi-Wan knows that very well, after all Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader betrayed him, the Republic, the Jedi Order and almost everyone else when he joined Darth Sidious and fully embraced the dark side.
why would your enemies ever betrayed you if they were never your allies in the first place 🤷🏾♂
How can an enemy betrayed you ??
“The saddest thing about farting is that it never comes from your mouth”
- Obi-Lose
I do like how Cal just straight up shoots him.
Like yeah, he tried to be merciful, and the bastard almost killed him and Merrin, you don't get any third chances.
Not only that. Bode also was constanly yeling about protecting his daughter and yet he constantly came pretty close to killing her himself during this fight. And it does not look like he even noticed that.
So uncivilized.
The good move.
Steven would disagree, especially because Bode was not a maniacal emperor, but a desperate father. But he was too consumed by his past to be reasoned with.
@@BadassHater1 The dark side doesn't give more power but less restraint. Yoda himself said that the dark side wasn't stronger then the light side and it was the reason why they made sure their students were discipline in self-control.
You can almost hear Cal's thoughts as Bode's blaster malfunctions.
He hesitates.
"He is defenseless. This isn't right. But if I show mercy now, he might kill us for real."
So he shoots him.
"He won't stop until we are dead."
So he finishes him off.
Honestly, i like Cal's morality in this story. He may kill in cold blood, but he does so only in self-defense or when showing mercy or trying to reason with his enemies fails. He doesn't do third chances. The 9th sister, Dagan Gera, Rayvis, Bode all of them tried to kill him, his friends and girlfriend, so he has the right to kill them back. It fits with the games. Names its all about survival. Kill or be killed.
"In this world, its Kill or Be Killed…"
- A little flower from the ground
lol that’s not killing in cold blood then
More like killing for reason
Thats not what in cold blood means, it means uneccesarily or needlessly cruel. I think Cal was justified in the situation so it wasnt really cold blooded.
I think they are hinting at something in this story. Especially considering how everything is foreshadowed. Cal is going Darkside, something in him changed with Cere's death. Plus the fact EA has been flirting with putting Cal in imperial outfits since the first game. Cere going Darkside would have been too predictable, but her death (now Cal's second mentor killed) this seems to be causing an anger inside of him
The way Bode was using his weapon, I haven’t seen anyone wield their lightsaber since Ahsoka and Starkiller.
I see what you mean.
Shien
Bode was even using force with his lightsaber swings like starkiller.
I loved how cal would be force pulled towards bode and thsn get thrown threw a portal back onto the stage just in time to smash into bode and take him to next platform and continue to fight that was next level shit
Also the jedi snipers in revenge of the sith video game though I think that's the first game to have a force user using a lightsaber back handed
Cal Kestis is straight getting to be my favorite Jedi since Obi-Wan and Qui-gonn
He does what he must, all Jedi survivors have done the same one way or another.
And he indeed, shoots first
dobe shoot first, but fortunately his pistol malfunctioned, and there goes his third chance of redemption
Technically, Bode shot first. The gun just didn't work.
Sometimes survival is its own reward
So uncivilized.
Bode shot first lol, that was basically Cal's last chance for him and thankful it malfunctioned
The first time in star wars history two jedis ended a battle in a gun stand off star wars really is a space western soap opera at its core 👌
Soap opera*
where was the mexican standoff?
Modern entertainment is godly.
@Ion Force you didn't see the part where they both was about to shoot and bodes gun malfunctioned so he and cal knew he was dead to rights?
Bode pulled the trigger first, but it was Cal who shot him first, knowing it's time to be done with being nice.
Very Han Solo move.
I really hope Cal survives his trilogy. He’s such an interesting character who deserves a live action appearance
God I hope so too
Is it confirmed a trilogy only for this story?
@@jdelgado216The director of both games has said he always viewed it as a trilogy since the start
@@jdelgado216 pretty sure they said about wanting the story to be a trilogy
For a live action appearance, hear me out: Andor Season 2
I rather liked how they defeated him in the end, the protagonist was idealistic and repeatedly extending their hand in cooperation, but the boss kept batting it away and tried their hardest to kill them. It wasn’t a pleasant outcome but Cal killing him was justified given the situation.
Yeah he gave so many chances. The moment he gave the final shot…it was a look of “you chose this, not me”
@@iRenz0 exactly.
It’s a realistic approach that maintains some idealism, as opposed to the “never stop extending your hand” trope that gets peddled. It works with some characters, but in a fictional war series were they slice down regular joes almost mercilessly, it doesn’t really suit.
What? You use a lot of big gay words

I'm sad Starkiller isn't Canon he's so cool
@@FluffyFrigginFox He IS canon, he helped found the original Rebellion. Lucas helped write the first Force Unleashed in which he later revealed the lightside ending is Canon. The twist is that Starkiller dies in the lightside ending.
@@megaman37456 Pretty sure Disney made Force Unleashed non-canon, but then again Disney doesn't deserve that kind of respect.
Everyone's complaining about the boss fight when theres literally not much they can do. Do you want them to make him fight the emperor this time? They're trying to tell a story within a story thats already finished
People are just a bit unrealistic with a hint of eager, they're doing it right, I honestly wouldn't be mad if Cal ended up dead up dying in a future game, they are just telling a really good story
@@caleboxley9743 nah don’t kill cal this story’s too good

@@quickimpact9023 Dont kill Cal, just have him go off. I would love for him to go explore the unknown regions with Greez and Merrin, Cal definitly seems to have a thing for exploring ancient ruins
For real, anyone crying that the final boss should’ve been Vader or an Inquisitor have no idea where the story was heading. Bode was great final boss because things got VERY personal between Cal and Bode. This story was mainly about the characters and what they want to do. I’m glad it wasn’t Vader or an Inquisitor because idk why people want a repeat of Fallen Order’s ending and it would’ve made no sense if Vader or any Inquisitor showed up on Tanalorr which is literally a hidden planet from the Empire.
RIP to Cere, she was a good warrior and a friend, may the force be with her as always.
She was her new apprentice Cal Kestis
Having her do so well against Vader was such a fitting and awesome send off for Cal Kestis’ mentor and second master
@@lukesenter1559Vader wasn’t even half trying lmao that health bar was Vader’s patience bar 😂
Bode literally killed himself by giving Cal that blaster. Really meant it when Bode said it’d come in handy in a sticky situation. The way Cal killed Bode too was plain cold hearted with no remorse. Glad Merrin made it out alive too. I already had a panic attack with Cal’s near death with the Bode reveal. As tragic as the ending was, Cal and Merrin got a future to look forward too. Then being together was a major theory I held for years and I’m glad it came true. Zanny would sure as shit be proud lmao 😭
I mean they gave him several chances to surrender. It might just be me, but it also looked like Cal waited before shooting and only fired after Bode tried.
@@Vogalos If you notice in the “Embrace the Darkness” scene Cal slams Bode to the ground and when he does that, the blasters seem to short circuit and break right there. Cal obviously wanted Bode to have a good moment to realize he lost. To let Bode sink in his failure towards his daughter, Cal and his friends and the people Bode sold out to the empire. A Jedi wouldn’t kill in the way Cal did, but it’s obvious Cal is a Jedi no more and is following a Grey Jedi path after he started embracing the dark side. And after the shit Bode put Cal and everyone through on Jedha, Cal couldn’t care less about how he killed Bode. I think it’s worth noting too that Cal wanted to let Bode know in his final moments, that gifting Cal that blaster was a big mistake as it ended up being the death of him
A wise man once said “ironic”
He would go crazy over merrin kissing cal
And also spawn of oggdo
And the 3 POINT SABER COMBO
Lol if you use the blaster on him during his first boss fight on Jheda he says, "Not you using my own blaster on me"
I think what I liked most of all is in the end you can tell he is struggling hard to not fall. But I think he is in a Anakin situation. You can see that Merrin is one of the, if not only thing holding him to the light.
He like Ezra has this strange affinity to darkside. Ezra with mind control and Cal with illusions made from past memory
Indeed, there is a whole cutscene where he’s almost turns to the Dark side but merrin stops him at the last moment
5 months later and this is still a spot-on assessment. Well said.
Yah except Anakin basically always fails when it truly counts. Cal seemingly keeps coming out on top
Noshir Dalal voices Bode Akuna. You might not recognize the actor's name but you definitely know the characters he's voiced - Charles Smith from RDR2, English dub for Sekiro from... Sekiro, Yone from League of Legends, Jega R'domnai in Halo Infinite, and now Bode. Literally all badass powerful characters and Noshir's voice is smooth like butter, glad he's getting so much work and hope to see more of him. Also seems like he has a knack for voicing a lot of sword-wielding (and now lightsaber wielding) characters haha 😂
ohhh cool thought he sounded familiar. Charles uses a bow and hatchet though not a sword but a blade i guess
fun fact: I'm brazilian, the first Jedi game have brazilian voice actors, Red Dead 2 no. So I was watching the begining of the game in english and I have to search the voice of Bode BECAUSE I RECOGNIZE HIS VOICE
Instantly recognized his voice as Charles. He's acting his ass off rn, I love hearing him as Bode
he's also admiral rampart in the bad batch.
He performed fairly well in Sekiro
When Bode dropped down and said "It's boding time" i got chills.
Lmao
The most Star Wars moment of all time no doubt
Hahahah!!
Truly a game!
I swear this meme will never die lol
Guess you could say it didn’t bode well with him

Too soon
Good one 😂
Oh cmon man 🤣🤣

During the game's opening Cal gave ninth sister one last chance, but she didn't take it, she was too far gone.
Same happens here, Cal knew Bode's blaster was broken. thats why he hesitates, he wanted to give Bode one last chance.
But when bode tried to fire, Cal knows he was too far gone as well.
That was the opening? Ah maaaaan
That lullaby that Kata sings is so beautiful yet so sad. Especially when you come back and listen to the echo of her and Bode singing it😢
Ghost Star....... 😔
Yeah it was pretty sad when I came back to hear the echo
yeah... very emotional indeed, which is incredible since we don't get to know their relationship that much. shows how well it was portrayed in such small screen time
@@Pupyzinho 💯
its interesting seeing "embrace the darkness" cal ovbiously has that emotional attachment to people same as anakin did, and it seems his emotions seem to temper him off
Really hope the 3rd game will have that morality choice between good and evil
Hopefully there is a third game
True. But if the newer shows and movies had shown us anything, it’s that there is a balance between light and darkness and perhaps that’s something that can be explored in a third game which I’m confident there will be.
I am afraid that cal is the same as anakin, in a sense that his morality is of a jedi, but in essense if he loses merrin he might end up like sith. Like no joke, the guy is one of the more powerful force users, if not among the top dogs(even stronger than cere). But I dont think they will go that route, as he might show up in live adaptation and to me, that doesnt sound as interesting if he was on the dark side of things..
@@lukas753331you not wrong, if Merrin dies in the third game Cal is probably gonna go evil
I like how Cal shot him twice. One for Cere and one for Master Cordova.
The story is more for adults in the sequel. That's something brave for a video game.

This ending is sure something. The last like 4-5 missions turned the story around like damn. Well the Chars. had their use in the story so they could die, but the overall atmosphere of the last few scenes is amazingly made
This game had the best third act I’ve played in years. Things start heating up when you confront Dagan in the sky fortress on Koboh and they don’t stop intensifying until the game ends. Perfectly paced. This game is such a masterpiece.
Honestly I wasn't really fucking with the story until the Bode betrayal, I wasn't expecting it and I definitely wasn't expecting him to be a Jedi too! Then we got to see his daughter in the empire base and then the storygot really good.
I loved the story, but I hated Bode as a "final boss". The 2nd sister had such a great buildup throughout the first game, and she's accordingly really powerful when you finally fight her to the death. I thought they were doing that with Dagan Gera, and they sort of did, but prematurely. I wouldn't have minded if Bode was a 2nd to last boss that you fight on Nova Garon; after clearing out the imperial forces, Cal and Merrin manage to prevent Bode escaping with Kata just in time. The same scene would play out the way it does on Tanalor, and you escape Nova Garon with Kata, and the true final boss is actually Dagan Gera's master you encounter on Tanalor. You find out that there was more to Dagan trying to reach Tanalor than revealed.
@JellyJman I thought Bode was gonna get killed by Dagan. He had all the signs of the partner that dies.
Bode: *does the Starkiller stance*
Starkiller: Looks like we've got competition!
'Bode then pulls out his blaster pistol'
Kestis - "Oh Sh&T he's packing HEAT!"
Starkiller would straight up yeet him off the void
@@znspyder Agreed, might try to learn and do a lil Starkiller vs Bode.
Starkiller is pretty much stronger than Vader at his final stage but still weaker than the Emperor if he had more experience he could’ve maybe been Palpatines equal as confirmed by Palpatine himself
The only ppl that can beat Starkiller in canon are BOBF Luke Skywalker, WBW Anakin, Yoda, Sidious, Mace Windu, Count Dooku, Mother Talzin, maybe Plo Koon, maybe Baylan Skoll

I just hope they continue this amazing story of cal ketis knowing from the ending it looks like he is going to be teaching bode's daughter the ways of the jedi so I just hope we get to see them as master and padawan in the next game
I believe the director or c reators said that they say this series is gonna be a trilogy. Possibly wont see the third game maybe until 2025 or 2026 since they said the sequel will be in UE5.

No mf it's a common score used in Star Wars' music.
What I like about the Bode boss fight is that it’s two Jedi friends struggling with the dark side fighting in a heaven type place, as opposed to Anakin and Obi Wan fighting in a Hell like place.
Damn Cal is going real close to the dark side here. Killed an unarmed man when he was down…I would have done the same but damn!

The official categorization of cal is quite actually a grey jedi Lmao
Cal is not a jedi, as stated by Jaro Tapal force apparition on dathomir in Fallen order "you are no jedi". He is more akin to a sentinel or Grey jedi, as a true jedi has to abide the rules from before order 66
Cal is a Jedi, a Jedi doesn't have to follow a strict set of rules to be a "True Jedi." If I myself don't have to follow a strict form of Christianity to be a Christian, why should a Jedi have to follow a strict code to be a Jedi?
The code isn't Dogma, there is nothing in any form of current canon that states otherwise. It became Doctrine to a Order long corrupted by complacency, but not Dogma. The Code is more Guidelines to Enlightenment just like the Tenets of Christianity are Guidelines to reach closer to God and Heaven
Being a Jedi is about Courage, Sacrifice, Honor, Duty and Compassion. It's about following the Living Force, the Light Side. If a Lightsaber doesn't make a Jedi then a Code and Rules doesn't either. It's about Knowing to do the Right Thing, and When to do it.
@@chazkorkosz1032 you accidentally got it right. - see Cal with Merrin and Bode's daughter? That could have been you, Claire and Sherry, Leon.
"If it's not wong it's wrong!"
(gets punched like a boulder)
I had my problems with this game mainly the performance, but overall the story had my attention right until the end. I had a feeling there was something sus about bode and the way he was acting.
Its a tragic end for cordova and cere, but i feel this ending does a good job in symbolising that cal needs to move on yet again and keep surviving.
Looking forward to their final game to tell cals story. My only hope is that it has better performance overall.
what did you play on? I had no performance issues at max settings on PC, except for one time when I ran into a glitch that infinitely spawned animals and droids to fight at the fort
I beat the whole game on Jedi master. The frog was an absolute nightmare and I almost broke my controller.
I thought the music in Fallen Order couldn’t be outdone but I was CRYING every time the devs let the music take over the screen 🤯
How dare Bode slap BD like that
At last someone mention it and this where cal embrace the darkness without none hesitation before merrin.
Those 60 fps felt more like 30 fps.
I feel so bad that Kata had to witness the death of her father even though Cal and Merrin gave Bode a chance to stand down, but he chose instead to fight.
This plot twist and character were so great as a new father I understand bode even though he was wrong very great game fun to play and cal is a great new character to the Star wars universe
Is the game difficult in grand master as fallen order was? The story is absolute in level with fallen order🥰
Shit.... Cal shot him no mercy. But the girl can be force-sensitive.
Not no mercy, he was given multiple chances to stand down and would have shot Cal if not for the faulty blaster. He also impressively manage to choke out our gf while simultaneously choking us out. He wanted us dead and nearly killed his child in the process. He wasn’t going to stand down, and they had no way to contain him so this was the only way it could end.
14:30 this is scene of cal in front of fire (and with this soundtrack) is pure star wars. Remebers me of Luke in tatoine.
They did a really good job with the villains imo
Damn that was brutal
This dude used his Saber like Starkiller and Ahsoka
The one thing that I've learnt about Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor is that they wear clothing that is somehow lightsaber-resistant
I don’t know if anyone else seen it but off cal just like comprehend life on the screen and then you can really see it because it’s a beautiful game you can really see it in his eyes that he is contemplating the dark side and if there is another game I want to see that I would like to see the third game bring you an option with you choosing in ur actions Jedi or dark Jedi or just Sith or be like Count Dooku before he turned to the Darkside or Kwai gon or mace Windu having the balance between light and dark good and evil or just be good or just be evil
Cal Shot First
Only cuz Bode's gun malfunctioned lol. Bode pulled the trigger first lol
I just wanna say I don’t think bode was a bad guy I think he was a protective guy who was blinded by the burden of lonely fatherhood
Yeah I get why he did what he did, really a more mature and adult storyline than what I was expecting
well , he killed many innocent people and betrayed his friends
@@Revan-eb1wb I mean they had his daughter held hostage
@@JellyJman sure but You know that they would have killed him and his daughter anyway after he was no longer of use. He was naive to trust the empire. And again, how many people that might have children as well did he kill? I mean I fully understand that he wants to protect his daughter but he should have known that the empire would try to kill him and his daughter anyway
The reflection of the lightsaber on his face if you pause it, makes his eyes look yellow for a second, although it's an optical ilusion, but still cool
5:47 i like the fact he was like i should just smack him instead of trying to kill bd for a second he was like what the. Also i love how they gave bode an honoruble burial.
would be INSANE if Tanalorr is in a time--dilated state and Cal is just a little older enough to be part of Post-OT timeline
Im just happy that Cal and Merrin are a thing now. 😅 and now they can build a nice little farm on this planet and raise a family and grow old together! 😂
Ya know it is good to see merrin helping in the battle as in the previous game you fought on your own only when it got to the dathomir boss did she help
15:37 - 16:03 that darker, quieter rendition of the force theme is perfect
One of the best villains in SW
how could anyone cope after killing a dude right infront of their daughter then taker her in, pretending like nothing happened. Its so cold
😢
chad like behavior when cal pauses puts a round in him pauses and does it again
I loved the ending. Cal has matured so much and even though he embraces the dark side he shows that he doesn't enjoy it. He fears the dark side and I think that's what is keeping him in the right path. Of course this could turn really bad if he keeps losing loving ones, which I hope won't happen (yet I would bet that Greez will sacrifice himself in the next chapter). Here Cal gave Bode too many chances of redemption. Even at the very end, he hesitated and if Bode's blaster wasn't damaged Cal would be dead. Only then he realised that enough is enough and did what was right. When I started Fallen Order some friends were mocking that Cal is a nobody, yet this is what I like about the character.
