Tbh Xander really screwed up in choosing Erika to go with him to Final 3. I already knew she would win once she was in the Final 3 and I know Xander regrets that decision in hindsight.
Richard remind me one finale tribe council someone said " Smart people ask tough question " I can feel of him , he has been a biggest target , I hope someday they will bring him back again , he has a good game .
Ricard did kinda get robbed. No one knew that final 5 immunity advantage was that good.

Wow. When I saw Erika’s interview video, I didn’t think she would last long considering she didn’t have much camp experience. But I also considered that if she aligned with the right people and get advantages, then it could be the other way around. Turns out THAT WAS THE CASE! @@bellasmith2444 Xander played a better game because he made a lot of stretegic moves that helped get him to final 3, he made a lot of risky gambles that couldve got him booted out but didn't, actually made a few relationships even though the odds were against him, won challenges and so forth. Bro's greatest messup was mistaking what the jury thought of Erika and instead should've had her make fire abd possibly lose. Had Heather been there instead of Erika, he likely could've won

@@jdubjdub645 I honestly don’t like the jury aspect of survivor that much. It’s just a bunch of bias and sore losers who are pissed they got voted out. It just isn’t fair imo. Xander had a far better game than Erika and that’s not taking anything away from her, but he 100 percent deserved to win. Just made me so mad.

I was really routing for Xander this entire season, but I feel a lot of satisfaction with Erika’s win. I’m just really glad we had a very deserving final three. :)

Well, in the "woke" season, of course the winner was going to be a woman--esp. given the fact that a woman hasn't won in years. Sad to see Survivor losing all integrity, such that the game and how it's played are only secondary.
Xander not getting a single vote kills me. Personally he played an incredible game but Erika’s win solidified season 41 ❤️
He had the best game by far but he's a straight white male in 2021 Hollywood, he was screwed from the beginning. A huge threat that everyone wanted voted out from the start and still made it to the final 3 without a single vote. This show is done.

Say that Xander was robbed all you want, but he made a million dollar mistake not taking out Erika at 4. Had he done that, he wins. The jury respected Erika more because she was always in the loop, and controlled the endgame.
They would have voted for DeShawn because Xander is white in him winning would not be woke
If he was in the final with Deshawn and Heather he still would not have won with this damn Jury as Ricardo would have swayed them in favor or Heather.

Dont think he could have swayed Danny, Shan or Lianna as they would have voted for Deshawn in that situation. Ricard was holding a big Grudge because Xander didnt use his Idol on him. His face was priceless when he was smiling and sure of himself he was gonna play it on him and then his whole demeanor changed in his face as his smile was swiped away when Xander didnt. Ericka played a good enough game to win but Ricard sure pushed the Jury towards her. I've always said gay people all have a very mean side to them and we seen that tonight in Ricard. And I'm still questioning how a man which is his husband can have a baby. Man this world is messed up and full of sin everywhere.

What really killed Xander getting votes was him taking Erika. If I was on that jury my original vote would’ve gone to Xander, but when I saw him took Erika to the end lost my vote to him. I feel like if he took Heather he would’ve at least received votes.

Which I think is a good game but it isn't a winning game. I believe deshawn played a better game than Erika. The whole jury kept agreeing with him and never said anything bad like they did with deshawn and erika. Xander said the right answers, even tho I would have said his Nasser and Heather fight and letting them fight or even knowing liana had the advantage would have been better than his answer, even tho it was a good social play. But erika won so I can't really change that. But she is one of the most weird winners. Idk why she had such a poor winning edit

I know a lot of people disagree with Erika winning and others agree with Erika being crowned as Sole Survivor, she’s the best socialist I have seen and made it to the finale. I am so happy for her. The end praise she got it what I think made everyone vote for her. This was definitely a super weak season. Hopefully the next one will be better.

This was probably the most wide open I remember the final vote potentially being. Then when Erika started nailing every jury comment I knew from there who was going to win. A well deserved winner!

For everyone saying Xander was the best player in the entire season, you are sadly mistaken. Xander was never truly in control of the game and was on the wrong end for a lot of votes up until the Ricard vote. Secondly, he wasnt the best player this season, Ricard was. Last but not least, he made a huge mistake taking Erika to the end. She wasn't an explosive aggressive player but she knew how to get her way with planting small seeds into player's heads to get her way while staying lowkey.

I think this has to do with erica was dealt a better hand going into the merge then xander with him having a idol and people thinking he was dumb and erica was quiet and strategic
Xander stopped playing the game after after the final 12.
He greatly diminished his shot by saying he'd use something to save Evvie at 10, then just not doing it.
He killed any shot he had by giving Ricard hope by saying he'd play his idol on him, then just not doing it.
He stomped on the already dead body of his chance when he told Heather he'd put Erika in fire, then just not doing it.

Xander played an absolutely perfect game and was robbed by a racist, sexist jury who refused to vote for a straight white male.
Xander’s game was great but he through it with some of his moves in the finale he by no means should’ve given Richard false hope which through away that vote and he shouldn’t have brought Erika to the final 3 which he wouldn’t have had to do if he didn’t tell her he would and Deshawn had great relationships with many of the jury members Xander had a underwhelming final council and poor jury management when he didn’t try to do the move with Richard to keep him in I knew his fate was sealed

It just shows you dont need a EVERY episode segment to win survivor. As a Filipino Im soooo happy to FINALLY see a fellow Filipino FINALLY win Survivor and I know culture and diversity was mentioned alot this season but seeing someone who shared the same race as I am and knowing how this shows history usually have Asian women get voted off pre jury makes me happy Erika and Natalie Anderson were able to break that barrier and Even Yul for representing the Asian community especially with whats going on with Asian Hate crimes right now. Erika played the game as someone who didnt make empty promises and made it obvious she had an immunity or advantage. For me Erika’s a Danni and Natalie White, barely got screen time but wasn’t being BFFs with everyone. Congratulations ateh. Well deserved ❤️🇵🇭👑💋

Very surprised. Either Erika was not portrayed well in the edits or the jury members were bitter that they were outplayed by a young kid. Xander played a great game.
Erika outplayed everyone there, she contributed to the fall of Shan when she was after her, as well as Naseer and then Liana Danny and Ricard in a row. Xander didn’t outplay anybody but just kind of sat there on the sidelines

Edit: I rewatched the episode and I now understand why Erika won over Xander. Xander seemed a bit cocky towards the final and I think that’s what hurt his game. Erika was a threat going behind talking to people to do some votes and was good at the immunity challenges. She also was able to answer all the juries questions quite well and that’s when it clicked in that she won the season. The jury did see her as a threat and believed she deserved to win and I believe she does as well. Well done Erika! Still I do wish Xander won it all, he was my favourite. I’m still glad Erika did win though, she was one of my winner picks. 🙂

This season of survivor was too woke for Xander to ever win. A minority was going to win, that’s just what it was for this season.

@@4Tom4lepus4 The jury was rigged from the get go, they all had racial bias before ever getting to the island, that's the point. This was BLM survivor, and it sucked. Never again. They'll look back on this and realize how racist and misandrist they all were, and so will history. Few if any will ever be back on the show outside of Xander and (maybe?) Ricard. Bringing back Shan is just a problem due to her bias. They'll be remembered as racists. Anyone with two eyes saw that Xander had the most to deal with and somehow made it to the end despite being constantly targeted. If he was Latino, or black, any non-white really, he'd be a shoe in, even moreso if he was female. If you stuck Erika's head on what he did and Xander's head on Erica and what she did it's obviously biased. The person casting and doing psychology tests likely had a racial narrative so they skewed the contestants to favor non-whites(esp. males unless they're gay), and that's just where modern society's backwards ass morals are right now since 2020 especially. It's really a case of penis-envy, hate us cause they ain't us, even though white privilege is a crock of lies and is a flash word to justify being a blatant anti-white racist bigot. It implies white people can't experience hardships, and it's total bogus.
Although in my opinion xander deserved the win I would of been able to live with Erika winning 5-4 or something close but the fact that he got no votes makes me very confused

Overall, good season and a great winner. I thought all 3 had a good shot, but Erika definitely earned it. She was on the bottom in the first half of the season. Then she started working her up, made smart decisions, and struck at the right times. Congrats to Erika, the first Canadian winner, and a great first winner of the show's new era. Can't wait to see what season 42 has in store.

Nah the fact that she threw her entire original tribe under the bus with the hourglass should have sent her home right away. She only got in because actual threats had to be taken out first. Not to mention being in the bottom in the first half doesn't matter in the slightest when your tribe never goes to tribal counsel. Thats like being the poorest person on the Forbes list.

Deshawn getting 2nd over Xander is what killed it for me because his gameplay reminded me of Dreamz from Fiji
His greatest mistake was taking Erika, he should've took the chance and had her make fire against Deshaune. Hell he probably should've made one last big risk and made fire against her. He could've beat her AND got possible Jury points. She was his last obstacle in the end.

Vote thinking it was gonna go 4-3-1 for Erika winning and then Xander with 2nd but when it was almost a complete blowout I was so surprised. Good for Erika she was my pick from like episode 2 so I’m proud of her :)
I was legit rooting for Erika since the 1st episode and im also happy she won and bdw erika is a good player because she not only played a big part in the biggest blindside of the season but she also clutched 2 immunity wins one of which she needed. She was an underdog and had a good story in my opinion. She deserves the title of sole survivor and bdw toxic Xander fans if ur planning on commemting on this comment, please take ur saltines somewhere else thank you :)
No she got lucky finding the advantage and still almost lost the challenge with it
Glad for Erika, but production did her edit bad. She is a good winner and they could have shown her more. But sad that Xander got no votes. Erika’s game was not a dominant Kim Spradlin kind of game for a 7-1 win. A few votes for Xander would have been good. The wokeness ruined this game.

I also noticed how they formated the final tribal differently and didn't do by the outwit outplay outlast thing and just had the jury asking questions so that was very cool.
I think it was a shortage of time on the show's part, I think they def do have longer talks outside of the edit but what we got was cool. Instead of jeff going like "OK ARE WE GOOD WITH OUTWIT??? OK GOOOOOD, WE WILL NOW DO OUTPLAY...GET US STARTED SOMEBODY" we just got a nice mix-bag conversation.
I was enjoying this season until Xander lost. Yes, Erica was underestimated, and probably deserved the win, but Xander played with heart. I’m sad Xander didn’t get one vote. Xander deserved a few votes.
He played from the bottom the entire time. Longer than Erika played from the bottom. He was everyone’s target for so so long. He played an awesome game and it got dismissed.

Yes. She won because she had the best response on the jury, Xander didn't do great unfortunately. But overall in the actual game he managed to keep the vote off of him while having an idol for 20 days with everyone knowing. He knew that Liana was going to use an advantage to steal the idol so he strategically gave it to somebody. He convinced Ricard(who was the front runner) that he was safe and was going to use the idol on him, but didn't. After that last immunity win he gave himself the best possible chance to win. Erika had a great game but I truly believed Xander should have won.
@@nathanleak3016 dude Erika was winning coming into it, it made no sense when he took the biggest threat in the game into the final tribal 3. You don’t win 7-1-0 on tribal alone, Xander’s FTC wasn’t even that bad either. Xander did a good job closing his threat level but that’s about it. I’m pretty sure Ricard knew what Xander was doing so it was COMPLETELY unnecessary for him to make up he was saving him and giving false hope, Ricard already knows he’s done. Him losing shows nobody cares he held onto an idol

I feel like the standard for “social game” has really been raised by this jury. I understand Survivor is a social game but I thought that just meant don’t be an asshole like Russell or Rob in all stars. Now the jury is penalizing Xander for vaguely defined “social awareness”
Xander was clueless and only voted correctly in 40% of his tribals. Erika voted correctly 100% of the time. Social awareness is being aware of every move happening. She said she wanted to work with an alliance while being at the bottom then flip and form the underdog alliance and take the big dogs out, brilliant strategy. Xander never once made a move on his own and had poor reads on the jury. He literally told them what they think while being wrong and took the biggest threat to the end 😂
Goats have poor social awareness. Social strategic awareness is literally the most important thing in survivor, Xander thought he was controlling the game and he’d beat Erika . People like Noura Julie and Xander have poor social awareness

Sadly the odds of him ever getting to final 3 again are none and slim cause everybody watching knows he's a threat already and he outplayed the people sitting next to him. Survivor was wayyyyy too woke in 41, it's like they hired people straight out of a BLM rally (and probably did). Worst ending to a season ever, made it the worst season ever, he totally deserved the win.

Erika's win feels awful. Her editing was so bad that I can't tell you a single thing she really did. Like they claim that she did 'x' and 'y' many times during this ftc, but you don't get to actually see any of it. The season focuses way more on the shan/ricard/deshawn dynamic. Factor that with all the time dedicated to advantages and twists and you don't get any screen time for Erika. You can't say it's because she was on a tribe that only won, because Danny, Deshawn, and Naseer got plenty of action. Possibly the worst edit any winner has gotten considering that this is season 41. If it had happened early in survivor's life span than I wouldn't mind it as much. But production should know how to do their job by now.
I'm sure Erika's game is fine and worthy of the vote, but for what the viewer sees it is very lack luster. From solely an audience perspective: Xander ran laps around her game. It is what it is. Maybe stop introducing 10 new game mechanics every episode so that we can see the players?
I am shocked Xander didnt win and even more shocked he didn't get any votes? Sure he didn't talk as well as Erika at final Jury, but he was not asked much to begin with. I think only 2 jury members gave Xander a chance to answer questions, and he did blunder somewhat on one of those questions. It seems like Erica was already pre-chosen as the winner thanks to Ricardo's jury manipulation at Ponderosa no doubt, and at final tribal council cause he was bitter that Xander didnt take him to the finals. If this is not the reason Erica won then the Survivor edit really left out a lot of edit on Erica.
I think the jury was decided well before Ricardo was voted off that a white male wasn’t going to win no matter what. The entire jury repeatedly admitted on camera that their votes and alliances were based entirely on race and/or sex. This was the worst season in the history of the show. Xander played an absolutely perfect game and deserved the win.

Anything strategic from him was done because Evvie and Tiffany helped him. He literally sat on his idol and watched his alliance die. He was outplayed at nearly every vote. He was used only for a number so others could get bigger threats out. By a certain point, _everyone_ had discounted him as a winner. And he made THE error of the game by choosing Erika over Heather to take to the end. Not to mention his absolutely abysmal answers at the Final Tribal Council.

A winning game for Xander would of been if he did fire making against Erika. Then he would have for sure won. Xander clearly knew how to make a fire fast and he didn’t take the risk.

Xander's fatal flaw was bringing Erika over Heather, for sure, but even then he should have at least gotten second. Erika played nowhere close to well enough to justify 7-1, they just didn't want to let Xander win no matter what happened based on "we haven't seen a non-white/female win in a while."

Post-merge, Xander did effectively nothing. He was never a driving force of a single vote, never contributed a meaningful strategy to anything. Xander's only means of making an impact was the idol which he just completely let go to waste.
Xander did not have a target on his back, especially not once Tiffany and Evvie were eliminated. During the season, people straight up say Xander is not a threat because he doesn't have the relationships to pull off moves or get jury votes.

Almost everyone in the jury said Erika was smart and was a big threat shows how much impact she made off camera. Even Heather warned Xander about Erika goes on deaf hear.

It's partially the answers at final tribal councils where Erika nailed every question but Xander stumbled, as well as Erika having good relationships with Heather and Ricard, while Xander tanked his relationship with Evvie, Ricard and Tiffany by suggesting he could play his idol for them but then disappointing them as they left the game. The only vote he could have realistically gotten was Naseer, who, we shouldn't forget, played his entire game with Erika and only knew Xander for like 2 days.
And Danny was always gonna vote for his bff Deshawn.

We haven't had a finalist as useless and volatile as DeShawn since Will from S30. Xander deserved second place soooooo much more than him. It was seriously neck and neck between Erika and Xander for me, but so glad Erika won. Not many people could take on the uphill battle after making that hourglass decision and have almost everyone vote for you to win in the end. Amazing.
FIRE won DeShawn second place. He picked the fire box, and his fire challenge with Heather were both heart pounding moments. Xander was never a threat.
Keep in mind, Erika's game deserves more recognition with the hourglass because the hourglass itself only grants 1 round of safety with a bad trade of 2 missed days of socializing alone on exile. She was able to reintegrate herself well into the social dynamics of the tribe while Rockstroy in 42 could not, along with other reasons that sent him to the jury but rebounding after 2 missed days on exile is very hard to do, and even harder to win.
I was thinking in this order Xander, Ricard or Erika. Little sad that Xander didnt win, I think he deserved it, he played well and managed everyone. But that is ok. He is young he will earn his 1M!

- Took out the biggest threat in Ricard
-Was able to show Xander that she was less of a threat
-Won two individual immunities and WON the advantage.

I completely disagree. Xander OBVIOUSLY played the best game. Erika won because #1 she's a cute little girl, and #2 the people in the jury were jealous of Xander, by far a superior player. I think it was scripted for ratings.
Now that I look back, I’m glad Erika won because unlike Xander and Deshawn, she didn’t use race or white guilt to sympathize with the jury

This week proved Filipina underdogs are exceptional! Beatrice in Top 5 in Miss Universe 2021 and now we have our very first Filipina winner. Hoping it would not be our last.
I am so confused and also surprised at how the producers edited this season.. usually I can see the winners edit (sometimes it’s more obvious than other times), but I really thought Xander got the winners edit..
I didn’t watch the full season, so when I asked who won, I was shocked but so proud. She was my favorite, but I didn’t think she was going to win. You did not know how happy I was when she won.
Based on the editing I was certain that Xander would win and more than a little upset at the actual result. I'm wondering why the editing made Erika mostly invisible and like she didn't do anything when in reality, as noted by this podcast that there was a lot more going on as viewers that we didn't see.
Even taking into account the apparent editing bias it seems really weird that Xander got no credit (ie no votes) for his various acts such as tricking Liana with a fake idol, giving up his spot in a challenge for Erika and doing something similar in another challenge so that the tribe could get rice.

The fake idol plan wasn't something for which to credit Xander. He never would've known if not for Tiffany being butthurt about Liana.

Maybe as a European I don't get wtf is going on in the US atm, but this season felt COOKED. When I watch Survivor I'm here for entertainment (especially the old days when they ACTUALLY showed the survival part and stuff) so I'm not here to defend anyone but why did I feel the whole time that even if Xander swam faster than Ozzy, walked on water, saved a puppey from a fire and solved every puzzle in record time he would've still lost to a random bloke who would sit down at tribal council? (I'm not saying that HAPPENED but made me FEEL that way watching that jury respond to his sad ass). Was the edit so terrible? Did he do something behind the scenes?
Also Ricard seems like a nice guy but the whole constant "I'm the best player here" got old very fast for me (be more humble?). Yes, I agree that he played amazing but the guy was banking on winning challenge after challenge to make it to FTC.
