That was great, i am a physics student in the netherlands and i missed the lecture on this. The book is horrible at explaining coriolis acceleration. The last smal example of the resturant and the force pushing the person sideways hit every thing home as to what coriolis accel is. Thank you
@aaaaaras that's why the tittle is understanding corriolis acceleration. I've been doing these kind of question alot but never understood the meaning of it until now. now i can tacle any kind of question using common sense. btw i am computer system engineering in canada. :D
Sir. Suppose I am moving along the equator and I am shooting at a target moving along North pole, will the bullet do strike the target( with reference to coriolis effect).
i m in iit delhi...i never pay attention to what s n singh teaches in applied mechanics class... n here i m looking for tutorials on youtube :P ..... s n singh watch this video and learn something
@@vikasbhat5926 what about Earth's gravitational force? Suppose there some water on tennis ball.when u rotate the ball what happens? Water will stuck on to the ball or it water will come out?
To move in a circular path i.e equator here...the person have to move with uniform circular motion .now as the motion is uniform circular,it's velocity magnitude should not increase.therefore the force necessary to accelerate will act either towards the centre or away from centre ... If force act away then the body will not maintain a circular motion and fall of the path ..therefore the force i.e centripetal acceleration or radial acceleration will act towards the centre.....just think of a person moving with a car in a circular path...now think of the same as consider firstly
This professor’s way of deriving the equation is wrong, he replaces d(|r|)/dt with |d(r)/dt| which is totally wrong. It is better to define r vector in terms of basis vector of rotating frame and considering derivatives of this basis with respect to stationary frame.

this is the best quality 240p Ive ever seen
😀😀😀😀
Dear aaaaaras:
Thanks for your comment. I will do so by adding a few practical examples.
anbudban,
Siva
thank you, i will come again my indian friend.

really helped a lot thanks... good work
Excellent!, thanks a lot! It helped me a lot
Thanks ❤
excellent

haha. who is sn singh
Is not the coriolis acceleration = 2 v cross omega????
Excellent..
thanks for the video...but you said "a reletative" is in the direction of "r" ...this is not true..it can have any direction
How the acceleration direction is along the centre in man and Earth problem? It should be away from Earth right??
If it will be away then how can the person will move.he will fly out

At 12 minuites do you mean integrate by parts ? I thought you couldnt differentiate by parts
He is actually talking about CHAIN RULE
What is meant by r dot or r double dot
Means derivative of 'r' with respect to 't'.
@@Scaletheuniverse thank u
what is omega there i mean whose angular velocity
He messed up a bit at that part... Omg is ang vel of frame of non inertial frame of reference. i.e solid body in this case.
How comes omega cross v rel
Thereisnt any acceleration in coriolis .
19:17 can anyone explain
its the chalk!

@lifematch i mean student. lol not an engineer yet. :p

fix-ed frame lol. But great prof!
other than that good explanation lol
saala ye burai jo kar rahe hain saalo ko samajh hi nhi aaya hogva sir ki baattein
o ? .. ok ? ,, ok ? lol
eewww long yellow nails
