And it will breathe more life into Washington County economically. It will make Eastport as a port more competitive now that it will have a highway to move goods from :) 🛻 💵 💴 💰 🚢
I'm thrilled that in the future construction companies will have more work. I noticed that every bridge or overpass will require widening much like those on I-95. Way to go highway planners. On a more positive note I'm glad this project is finally being done. Should have been done 30 years ago but maybe I'll live long enough to be able to use this. I'm sure the residents on Rt. 46 will be very pleased to not have all those trucks on their road.
forgot about no ramps connection all the over passes , as suburbs grow in these areas the traffic patterns will change, thus requiring ramps too be added , have the same issue in NB Canada , they built bypasses with no ramps for cross roads just over passes , now they have to rip it half apart again too add in the ramps at double triple the cost of adding them from the start , two steps forward one step back ,
I’ll be glad when it opens so I can bypass Rt 1A during summer tourist jams to Bar Harbor to get home. I don’t think this will relieve Rt 1A traffic because those people are heading to coastal downeast Maine and it’s still the most direct route.
This is great thanks Maurice!
Cool video. Glad to see it coming along. It will connect Washington County to the rest of the world.
