Say Ringo years ago and the thing I remember most is that everyone in the band: (a) was really good; (b) seemed to all genuinely like and respect each other, and (c) looked like they really had a good time playing together. Ringo as a bandleader seems a role he handles well.
George also played guitar on Billy Preston's early albums , John played and co-wrote fame(David Bowie) , Paul had several R&B HITS . Just more proof the BEATLES were the greatest band all time. I love Sheila E she was on a poster in my dorm room ...lol. PRINCE RIP
I saw Shelia E with Ringo Starr's All Star Band in Wheeling West Virginia a few years ago. I wasn't expecting much, BUT...I walked away with a profound awareness and respect for Shelia E. If Ringo wasn't on stage it would have been a Shelia E concert. SHE was outstanding...She stole the show from everyone with her talent and energy. She was amazing!!! She was on fire and spot on with everything she did on stage. WOW !!!

You can easily tell and see how close Prince and Sheila E are have been, because in the end she is acting like Prince! Consciously or unconsciosly when people are close they are taking over some mimics e.g. behaviors.

The best he's ever played in a lifetyme! observe his stability of rhythmic technique upon which she goes wild with invention. Go girl! Teach those naughty arrogant brits! Give them bloody hell! The 👑 queen would have loved that! Then the world would have witnessed the real her! Observe though Ringo never really got rid of that traditional british stiffness. He's still a brit. on drums.
Not many ppl understand these things. These heels are not your, run of the mill, standard issue, their stilettos. Imagine how a tiny chip in a tooth feels REALLY BIG, then make the chip 2-3x larger.. It feels a lot bigger, not just 2-3 times bigger. Sheila E could be playing in Birkenstocks or flip-flops and still be amazing.
2:40 to 3:18 beyond proof, ...(breaks a stick and grabs another without any one noticing) then till the end (at about 4:00)........If you cant play like a girl...then you should go home....PS: I'm a dude!
Ringo Starr's comment regarding Sheila, that "She's always fun", is not much of a compliment. He certainly could have said more than that. I honestly believe he is jealous. In fact, I believe he is green with jealousy. I don't think his male ego can take it. Sure Ringo is himself a fabulous drummer, but that does not mean that he could not have lavished praise about Sheila.
Dee I don't see why Ringo would be jealous. He plays drums for sixty years and he heard about Steve Gadd, Elvin Jones or Simon Phillips ! He knows he's a very limited drummer compared to these guys. Because she's a poor little woman ? He's smarter than that.
Dee I saw them together on Ringo's tour in 2003 he had nothing but positive and nice things to say about her and her drumming ability and he's had her on his All Starr tour several times so I don't think he's jealous of her I think he respects her as a fellow percussionist and drummer
Ringo has always been respectful of Shiela's ability and if he was jealous of her playing, he would not have let her showcase it in his show which he does here in this clip.
