What other assassinations should we be talking about?
The Assassination of the Romanov family by the Bolsheviks.
Just pointing out that many countries have presidents, the US is the biggest kid on the playground, but not the only one.
Teddy Roosevelt was also technically assassinated or well he would have survived if the doctors had warn gloves or at least washed their hands or if they never actually tried taking the bullet out in the first place.

As of 2013 the CIA had an operation renewed meaning it not only was still in effect but they literally reopened the operation of the hunt for Hitler because there actually is no physical evidence Hitler killed himself and the only evidence is from Russian leaders and soldiers such as the creators of the KGB and we all know they are always 100% truthful. Ok so from what I have heard from weird investigations is that Hitler fled Germany way before the end of the war and had a look a like being the figure face while Hitler actually lived in Brazil where they actually worshiped him. Then weirdly some people found out that he was there so he fled to America before living in Canada for around 10 years or so before a picture of him was spotted working in a bank in 1979 when a brand new camera was being put up and the guy who looked like an old Hitler from the picture saw the cameras being place and went to his appartement and he was spotted by neighbors of taking a single brief case into a car before his appartement exploded around 10 minutes after he left and it took fire department around 15 minutes to get there and federal agents got there 2 days later to investigate the explosion before finding out the guy worked at a bank. CIA figured out the guy fled to Canada and the trail went cold until around 1990s where photo evidence put him in Canada before going cold again until the early 2000s of a picture basically of the same guy in Canada again. Then went cold again then the CIA reopened the case and have not closed nor ended the investigation case. From what I saw on the subject is that facial recognition soft ware has compared thousands of pictures and videos of Hitler and the person the CIA has been tracking and 1 of the 57 people in Germany that were look a likes or the potential Hitler was the same person that the CIA was tracking meaning at least 57 people pretended to be Hitler and 1 of the people fled and has constantly been tracked every sense he left. There is 1 massive way to know if the person is really Hitler and that is if they find the body and it has a Jewish Menorah branded on its back. Or another way is if it has a certain break on its right leg and left arm from the brutal beating Hitler received as a child from his parents and other Jewish leaders. I am going to straight up say it. Hitler was made into the monster he became because of the Jewish religion. The Jewish religion brutally beat the living shit out of him as a child and tortured him mercilessly for decades. Hitler was a brilliant child and he was brutally tortured by the Jewish religion and his own parents who were a Jewish School teacher and a Rabbi and after being tortured for decades his heart turned even and full of hatred towards everyone and he then tried to take over the world to rule it as he saw fit with a twisted mind. Hell the first girl he ever loved was his best friend who was a girl who was killed in front of him by his own father because his father was an absolute piece of shit. If I could go back in time I would get Hitler away from his shit head of a family and charge the entire lot of the Jewish Religion with the crimes they committed and put Hitler with a loving and caring family and a family that could cultivate Hitler's high intelligence and if Hitler was brought up in loving family instead of the evil that he was brought up by humanity would be praising Hitler as the greatest human being to ever exist. It is strongly believed that Hitler has a photographic memory to the point that Hitler actually saw different things and instantly could redraw the schematics 10 years after he saw them. Hell Hitler could read ancient Hieroglyphics without any pre knowledge of the language which still baffles people who actually study Hitler. Hitler is the only known person to be able to potentially read this weird Druid book that supposedly holds the knowledge of humanity itself. Hitler had knowledge so advanced over all other humans that Hitler was on an entirely different level of intelligence.
My favorite ATTEMPT was that of Theodore Roosevelt in 1912, as he was campaigning for president. He was about to give a speech, and a guy shot him in the torso. Since he wasn't coughing up blood, TR guessed the bullet hadn't hit a lung. And holding his hand on the wound, he went ahead with the speech, for about an hour.
Takes more than that to take down a Bull Moose!
Mine has to be Andrew Jackson going "bet" to one of his assassins and beating the man with his cane.
Even better is that when Theodore died his friend/assistant stated “Death had to take Theodore Roosevelt in his sleep as if he had not there would’ve been a fight.”

Also of note: the Oneida Cult made a lot of money by making silverware and travelling far and wide to sell it. Many people (of that time) chose Oneida for their first dinner sets, and apparently it was very well made. They gave their name to Lake Oneida, which is a large lake in upstate New York next to where they settled. It's still around but in a much reduced capacity, I think. If you have older dishes and knives, look to see if they were made by Oneida. Meanwhile, sleep awaits...

Parents need approval to have a baby, then after their baby has reached the age of 1 it's taken to ve raised by the commune.

Free love is woke, just not when paired with eugenics, perfectionism and poor sexual hygiene. And he’s definitely not nonpolitical, he just doesn’t spend time on modern politics. Everything is political. It’s so funny how people think ribbing one side (cause they aren’t pressed and there are problems) and being aware of the others massive flaws is equal cause they literally can’t conceive of the world as anything but, one’s bad, the others bad, or they are both equally bad.
The only people who think being “nonpolitical” is good these days are couldn’t give a shit about the tens of millions of people politics effects. Or people who like feeling superior for how little they follow they are aware of the world.

It's not that a bible verse SAYS it, per se. It's what it doesn't say, Like how some mormons do a thing called Soaking because technically it's not sex. Religious people find loopholes (giggity) like this all the time because people think they can trick god like a zany lawyer.

having the community raise the babies might sound horrible, but that was actually very common in Israel (where there were a lot of communes who did this).
eventually they stopped this practice, and now there is what is essentially a preschool from when you're 1 year old.
I lived in one of those communes, though only after they got rid of that practice.

What would you say are the 5 biggest positive and negative points about living in that commune? Was it strictly religious in nature or more of a political thing? Any interesting facts or anecdotes you would like to share?

positives:
1. you don't really care about money, because the way money is distributed
2. you learn the value of work beyond monetary value.
3. if you have children, you know they will not starve, there is always food for them to eat.
4. this kinda depends on where the commune is, but generally speaking, you don't have to worry about thieves etc.
5. you know everyone in your community, which builds you in a very connected way.
negatives:
1. definitely the criticism, it's hard to explain how much as a kid, you're under a microscope 24/7, because everything you do reflects on the commune's education as a whole.
2. it's a pretty closed place, I had my 6-7 friends from the commune as a grew up, and that's it (I guess that connects to #5 in the positives)
3. you grow up knowing you're not going to be rich (on the flip side of #3 of positives)
4. getting in is a really weird process, that from the outside looks abdominal, though since I grew up in it, it's normal to me.
5. this also depends on where the commune is, but in Israel, communes are generally speaking connected to agriculture, so if you're not into agriculture, it's really hard to find something else to do.
the commune I was in was not religious, though different communes have different strictness levels to them.
interesting facts? hmm, well, the first time I really went out of the commune in any meaningful way was when I was 18, and joined the military, even though I was still a child of the community (yes, that's the actual term), being in the military was the first time I actually spoke to people from the city at my age, and we figured that the entire population of the commune fits in 3 buildings in the city, it was funny to me.
also, first time I got hit by tear gas was when I was in kindergarten (about 4 yo), we went to a field trip, and we didn't coordinate properly with the military, and they did chemical training in the area, and we got caught in the middle.
you really never forget the first time you get hit with tear gas.

@@alwaysonyourtail2563 I was born after they got rid of the practice of the children living in their own sub commune, but even when that was the practice, the children still knew who their parents were, they were just under the responsibility of someone else while the parents are working.
currently it's similar to having the children in school, but from when they are about 1 year old, at the end of the day, they go back to their parent's house where they are with them.

James Garfield is my distant relative on my paternal grandmother's side! I rarely ever hear about him because he is a relatively obscure president, and he wasn't in office very long (obviously)

Oneida is such a weird but interesting story. They dabbled in many different sources of revenue like Silverware, furniture, agriculture/food canning. The silverware company still exists today and is pretty well known in some areas.

My understanding is that Alexader Graham Bell attempted to locate the bullet with a metal detector he invented. Unfortunately, another invention interfered with the process causing the doctors to dig into wrong locations. The other invention was the spring mattress, the springs were giving false locations of the bullet to the metal detector.

I would argue that Dr. Doctor Willard Bliss was a far more interesting person and a more responsible person for the assassination of James A. Garfield.
And no, that's not a typo. His name was Dr. Doctor Willard Bliss. His first name was literally Doctor.
It was obviously a case of medical malpractice that happened with the James Garfield case. Alexander Graham Bell was even brought in to test his invention of the metal detector in order to locate the bullet, but the device's signal was thought to be distorted by the metal bed springs.
Bliss repeatedly probed Garfield's wound with unsterilized fingers and instruments.

So, I looked into this a little more. After that business about wanting ivory grips, not being able to afford them, and the store owner dropping the price for him...he still ended up with the one with wooden grips. The Smithsonian has a photograph of it, though it has since lost it.
Which says a lot. If even our government couldn't remember where it left the weapon that killed James A. Garfield, maybe it's not so bad that I couldn't find my car title after a decade and 2 moves.

Interestingly enough, Cecil Tayntor (Sellers) was Garfields' cousin. My grandad Wayne Nelson Tayntor has dementia now, but my mother (his daughter) Kim, recalled many stories of her grandmother and such that topic.

I actually was just as shocked as you were when Sam mentioned the free love thing, so I actually looked into it some more on my own. Apparently, John Noyes believed that Christians shouldn't be bound to legal institutions like marriage, and that marriage represented a form of male domination over women. It's an interesting perspective, to say the least, considering how big a deal marriage and sexual exclusivity are in most forms of Christianity.
@4:52 - might be a bit late to answer your question, but this commune and ones like it would/will raise children as part of a community rather than as part of a family. The parents don't have any role (or at most an extremely limited role) in their child's life during formative years. The basic idea is that children raised by a set of parents see themselves as part of a family rather than solely a part of the community. If the entire community (or at least a large group within that community) raises the children instead of them being raised by their own parents, the child will develop a psychological attachment to the community much like a normal child would bond with their parents. Though the effects of this have been under-studied, theoretically, it should work as intended. On a more nefarious note, though, in a cult or cult-like setting, this also works to expand membership over time as couples deemed fit to have children can have as many as they like without the burden of having to financially provide for the children. Therefore, more children are produced who are intentionally raised to identify with the group rather than their family and protect and preserve the group as fiercely as they would their own life because they are one with that group.
You should really check out the musical "Assassins", by Stephen Sondheim. Guiteau is one of the main characters, along with Leon Czolgosz, Oswald, Booth, Zangara, Hinkley Jr, etc

to note all the 'religious' elements that are spoken about in this are NOWHERE near being part of the actual bible itself... I don't bother with religion at all but I grew up in a conservative church of christ. got tired of it as I began to realize that all religions practically preach the same blasted thing but with slightly different word and slightly altered idealism. So yeah that supposed religious commune that is being talked about around the 6 minute mark (give or take) is not conservative church of christ... it might be one of the more liberal religions like mormon or something.

I learned in Family Law that the old tactic of "banging a prostitute" was a popular method for divorce before no-fault divorce became a thing. Even read a case where both partners were sleeping with other people, and because they were both sleeping with other people you couldn't determine who was at fault, so they couldn't get divorced. Even the judges in that case were like, "Yeah this situation is ****ed up but what can I do that's what the law says"

It's not just the little cult groups, the big ones like christianity are even worse at compartmentalizing their books teachings, vs their actual beliefs.
Primarily the different sub sects. It's hard to point at the whole since there's so many different groups all saying a different thing. I honestly doubt the original version that formed from Jesus still exists now with all the different groups doing different shit and some changing things for an attempt at the "please accept us" tactic. This was a very good video but it sounds like guiteau maybe had a psychosis, like the original video said that his mother had. I think it would be cool if you did a video on the Oneida cult. I saw a show on it once a very long time ago. If I remember correctly, it only actually lasted for 12 years but it's a very interesting part of American history.
A very interesting and good book (and audiobook) about presidential assassinations is Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell. I highly recommend.

not a religious scholar or anything, but pretty safe bet on the "Dick don't Spit" line is that he's referencing the multiple passages of scripture that state that thou shalt not let thy seed spilleth upon the earth.
