Thanks for doing the sponsor first. Made it not a jarring disruption from the video.
Love to see you getting a sponsor! Totally downloaded Opera GX!

... I miss Sam.

Same, thankfully I get lots of joy out of Mr. Terry reacting to Sam so I wasn't too disappointed lol.
I wish Mr. Terry would do these more often, but I suppose it's good to spread them out a bit so he doesn't use up the existing videos too fast. Hope Sam returns soon though!
7:18
It took him a long time to recover from that joke lmao
Love that Terry is getting sponsors. I’m so happy for him.
Thanks. It's great to support companies that are willing to support educational channels.
will you react to "the presidential assassination that no one talks about" by sam its really good:) Edit: also maybe "there may Never Ever be another man as powerful as Stanislav Petrov" by emplemon
yes
i would LOVE the video of emplemon but i fear it might be too long, unless he splits it into 2-4 parts. But big agree on both videos, theyre amazing!
I havn't seen the video, but it was Mikinnley's assassination right?
@@PolymurExcel No, it was Garfield's assassination.
@@JasonH2105 yeah I saw that afterwords. In my defense, no one talks about McKinley either.
The year South Sudan became a country, it was my model UN country senior year in high school. We work for MONTHS, and the civil war broke out literally the week of the competition, and we pretty much forfeited in frustration
It was neat seeing the 3 minutes of outtakes at the end of the video.
I don’t think that was intentional I think whoever was editing this video fell asleep (no offense but it really isn’t well polished)
@@jeremyglass4283 well they’re outtakes are they really supposed to be well polished?
@@MattcraftMSTR no what I’m saying is that the outtakes were not supposed to be in the video it’s quite obvious if it was intentional there would have been cuts and stuff it was several minutes long too

He was on that quarantine grind.
You got a sponsor! That’s awesome :D
It's great to see companies that will invest in educational channels. Gotta help them out.

your effort in showing us exactly what we can expect from the browser really sold it to me!
7:25. You can see the incredible discomfort he gained
Love this video. You are always such an informative person while still being entertaining
It's good to observe his wisdom when he watches his laughter, knowing better than to entertain the joke somewhat skillfully delivered so as not to offend anyone - knowing that laughter taking it too far, past the line of 'common decency'.
"The 1st world countries don't intervene in genocides of other countries unless there is an economic advantage"
CAR: You have no idea
BTW the episode he was talking about that he reacted to was, I believe, the problem with African borders by Atlas Pro
The problem with Africa is the stupid amount of countries and petty tribal conflict
@@mathewkelly9968 while I agree that there is plenty of Petty tribal conflict, probably one of the major factors that lead to instability in the African nations, but when it comes to how many countries are in Africa compared to the other continents in the old world it really doesn't have that much more it only has 10 more than Europe and about 6 more than Asia.
"Clusterfuck isn't a real word."
It has meaning to tons of people, so that makes it a real word.
I wanna see Mr. Terry play Hollow Knight. I think as a history teacher he'd find it interesting how deep of a lore and how intense of a history Hallownest has. It has great subtle storytelling, and I just think it'd be cool.
The original video is closer to the creation of South Sudan than it is to today
Yesss. I was waiting for you to cover this.
Had a family from South Sudan move in next door to my parent's house in Oregon, USA. Fun little fact, the dad is 7'5" and the oldest son is 6'11"
Yeah, that's a common characteristic of Nilotic people.
South Sudanese people : You have freed us!
Salva Kiir and Reik Machar : Oh I wouldn’t say “freed” more like “under new management”
Pretty cool to watch these videos, since it kinda feels like watching a video with a friend, and i also learn a lot while watching the video
I always like seeing a sponsor that's free. Makes it much easier to support some of my favorite youtubers. Doesn't hurt that I do, in fact, game fairly regularly, so I'm down to try a new browser.
Also, just curious, do you ever play Civ6 on your gaming channel? Been in a Civ kinda mood for the passed few weeks.
The Civ I usually play on stream is Civilization Revolution. Mostly because you can play a whole game in a couple hours. Thanks for supporting the sponsor!
I think it’s awesome that your getting sponsored in some videoz
As someone from sudan (north sudan) i can say that those information are correct and I want to mention that south sudan got there country after doing a voting and It was around 98% of people who wanted there own country and because they have more resorses than the north so they thought that they will use all of It instid of sharing It with other people but after that they started fighting and didn't use It and the two countreis get damged because of It but swoth sudan become a lot worse sense 2011

Hey Mr Terry, you are probably overflowing with requests, but it would be awesome if you could watch the "Pope Fights" videos by Overly Sarcastic Productions. There are three (succession cisises, reformation and the italian wars) and, as usual for OSP, are pretty neat.
Watch the Sigmund Freud video by Sam O' ella. The repost ones.
That video was from Atlas Pro!
2:48 The video starts here
Dr Congo has the same kind of issues. The second Congo war from 1998-2000 was also a multi-part war, with like 7 different parts. It was the same pattern in the Iraq Insurgency wars from 2004-2013, and most of them united into ISIL in 2013, however in Syria there are still 10 different factions fighting each other and the main government.
Somalia is also embroiled in a multi-part civil war for almost 20 years now, after they were in one during the early and mid 1990's.
In some sense its just the continuation of 1000's of years of conflict between believe systems, tribalism and differences in norms. You start to understand why the 3 big religious are all society regulators.
That ad read actually made me want to get opera gx
I do enjoy apples quite often
The movie "Lord of War" starring Nicholas Cage shows how Western arms dealers are complicit in the various wars in failed states in Africa and the Middle East. All those guns and especially ammunition comes from somewhere; they are all manufactured in the West, and sold to the various militant groups. It's just business.
*watching this video already on opera*
Hi Mr. Terry! Do you think WW1 could have been avoided or was it inevitable?
I'm not sure anything HAD to happen. Nevertheless, all these nations were anticipating war. The spark could have been anything.

In the last three years the worst acts in the world that we knew of (outside of N Korea) were Northern Myanmar and South Sudan. Probably just layers of things we don't have an inkling of bc it just isn't reported on in areas of poor/no internet.
(ALSO I love you so this is more adding context than trying to correct you. The Rwandan genocide was more than a quarter of a century ago now... crazy to think about but makes you think)

Hey you got a sponsor!
Anyone know the story of why Swaziland is now eSwatini? Knowing African history, a whole lotta people probably died but I'm curious to know the significance.
Actually, it's not all that horrific a story how Swaziland's name changed...I think. Basically, eSwatini is "Land of the Swazi" (The dominant ethnic group of the country) in the Swazi's native language. When eSwatini was turned into a British colony, they renamed the area "Swaziland", or eSwatini in English. So, when Swaziland gained its independence, they eventually decided to re-rename the country eSwatini, because that's how they say it in their native language. It's a very interesting story, for sure.
