Did his mom get slapped upside her head for bitching that "her baby, her baby!" got shot? Basically, what was the plot and how did it end?
So, apparently some little snot nosed rich brat wanted to the old man to sell his property to him, and so sent the thugs after him to scare him. The old man knew one of the robbers, and apparently knew it was a scare tactic. The old man was still in the right honestly even with that knowledge.
@@jeshonloonskin4176 More specifically, the old man had met "Max" (the snot nosed rich brat) along with 1 of the 3 robbers once a few weeks before the robbery where Max was trying to make the old man sell his property. When the old man refused to sell, a couple weeks later Max convinced the 3 robbers to rob him at gunpoint by lying about the old man being in possession of some valuable gold coins. When the robbers got there and started demanding the loot, they started beating his assistant Joey to death when the old man claimed he only had $30. But yea, as you said, I agree the old man had the right to self-defense even if he might have realized it was meant to be intimidation (and who knows if he did realize from just having met 1 of the 3 robbers once before while they were holding guns to his head) because he was still being robbed at gunpoint and his assistant was being beaten to death in front of him. The only thing the old man might have been guilty of was lying (or simply being mistaken) to the cops about the order he shot the robbers. Everyone talking about the mother but my main issue is that ABYSMAL pour on the beer at 7:45
Eliot Gould is an amazing actor, no doubt.
I love Eliott's voice; it was great to hear him reading Philip Marlowe stories.
It was disgusting how Lupo was annoyed the guy just "gets to walk outta here". At that point the guy was defending himself.
"He shot my baby!!! He shot my baby!!!"
Yeah, a baby that you raised to be a criminal. I can't stand these mothers that always paint the picture that their child was the most nicest and honest angel
he NOT my baby?
@@housesg5981 I just noticed that. I meant to put "shot" lol. Just corrected it
Mothers of criminals scream the loudest when the criminal's potential victims fight back. If anything, the potential victims should sue the mothers for raising those criminals.
Those people are adults make there own decisions. If your kids do something wrong should people be able to sue you also

Then idiots like it.
Anyone else find it weird the detectives were initially trying to find any reason to arrest the store owner for defending his store? They were not so subtly trying to get any hint that he somehow did something wrong they could get him for.
I mean, the guy just shot at four people, they have to make completely sure that he was fully justified in doing that. I do think Lupo was being a bit too extra.
@@hikarikounothey were beating his employee, they had guns pointed at the both of them. At that point, self-defence is the only logical choice to get out of that situation.
Nothing like the sound of that slide on a 12 gauge going back to eject a shell.
If you can't take slugs, don't be thugs. Be a thug, get a slug.
Thats a good one
Were we supposed to feel bad about the mom and her baby?😂
no
It's his mom. I'd honestly find it a bit more concerning if she wasn't emotional considering her son got shot, even given why.
Why did law and order stop. This was its final season and it was still sooo good.
Ratings and it didn't help they were some spinoffs that failed
It didn't 2 new seasons this year
I like these two detectives. They gonna get me into law & order
By the end of the episode, Anthony Anderson wanted no part of "Shotgun Man"
6:36 It sounds he broke a lot of things lol
Anyone else notice the really bad pour by the barkeeper? It was alll head
Yeah, I HATE beer and even I know that was horrible.
maybe they put soap in it
Extra doesn’t know how to pour a beer? What’s this world coming to
Amateur hour.
Sorry, but real people don’t care about how some actor pours a drink on a tv show, knucklehead! Try again, boy!
Elliot Gould gave a great performance
WOW!!! Elliot Gould??!! It's been a serious minute since I've seen this Actor in Action. A Nice Surprise.
These are the type of parents that causes a community to go under
Yet men have ruined the world with how they do things lol
7:45 worst beer poured ever. Look i mean that's just abysmal
"NURSE..! CAN I GET SUM PAIN KILLERS PLEAS..!" That sent me reeling LOL
The OG Trapper John performed
"surgery" on those thugs.
Again, interesting how shows change. Briscoe or Green would never have dropped onto a hospital bed like that. If you tried it in a show nowadays, people would cry police brutality--and rightly so, guy's got his rights. But this episode must have aired while NYC was in a "tough on crime" mood, either because of 9/11 or because of an ongoing crime wave. Thus not only the rough treatment, but the widespread celebration (in the city) of the man shooting the crooks. There would be a very different reception today,
What are you talking about? Briscoe AND Green have done questionable police work. Lennie has offered to lie on the stand multiple times for the greater good. Ed left the force bc he had "broken every rule in the book". They may not have "dropped onto a hospital bed", but they have done worse.
@@CC-si3cr exactly… what L&O they been watching! Lol

Krugerrands : gold coins minted in South Africa as from 1967. The Krugerrand bore the effigy of Paul Kruger, president of the Transvaal Republic.
Notice how no one wants to acknowledge it had nothing to do with race or sending a message it was self defense even if it wasn't a robbery how would they know for all they knew they might be died there that day if he didn't shoot them they obviously knew there wasn't money imagine how beaten the shop owner would've been and if he still didn't choose to move
People have the right to self defense!
Wasn't self defence though. It was planned.
Absolutely
Yes but as far I understand the owner didn't know and they were getting beat, so the owner defend himself and his worker. I don't the ending of this episode
@@delmicortave The owner (the old man) didn't want to sell his property so he tricked them into coming back as fake armed robbers.
@@gracieamazing2076 It wasn’t a fake robbery. Those injured where real. The old man didn’t want to sell his property to a spoiled brat who hired these guys to “rob” the store/other harassment. The thing is the old man confronted one of the robber before and shot him first before shorting the one who was kicking the employee. I honestly still don’t see how it changed from self-defense to murder because someone was in immediate danger but I guess 🤷♀️
This was a great episode!!
7:37 a parent apologizing to the victim for failing as a mom everyone, take note
If my baby is shot during a commission of a crime, I'll be kneeling on the ground begging forgiveness.
Fool.
Is it me or the lieutenant hasn't aged a day in her life!? That's some great genes wow
Dude, I'm really invested in this one.
What happened to the old accountant? Did they convict his karate apprentice?
Did the fat "lookout" in the hospital get charged/killed?
But since all were armed I don't think it matters under the law of self-defense.
It’s like why is your kid robbing a store
Lmfao that Beer pour was terrible. It was 90% head.

Elliott Gould terrific acting here; great on Lincoln Lawyer as "Legal".
Fortunately, Reuben's luck would turn around once he moved to Vegas.

Mr. Jack Geller! What did Ross's and Monica's dad do?
No one notice the owner is played by Elliot Gould?

For a second I thought the guy in the cap was Charlie Berens
The victim complex of the robbers family is stellar but compared to today...
It's always the others who're responsible.
How do you get to adulthood by blaming everyone else for your own shortcomings??
Honestly im more surprised noone threw something at the moms face and tell her to shut up
Only used as self defense. That's self-control ..

"Tell me you don't have kids without saying you don't have kids."
I have a kid and I wouldn't blame the guy if my kid was doing that.
I dont need to have kids to know that her son was shot because he was committing a crime and doesn’t deserve sympathy lmao

God, I recognise that actor... The voice... I wanna say the store owner is in the Ocean's movies.
Elliott Gould
You would be correct.
Yep. Also played Ross and Monica’s dad on Friends

The young one sounds like hes the child of Christopher Walken who spent his teenage years with a tribe of cherokee
What's the mother pissed off about her son was part of a robbery team
It's still her son. That's going to override logic far more often than not in situations like this one portrayed here.
