The only reason why it didn't start was because he didn't have his tow mirrors out....
What are you talking about
***** I didn't get it
***** Oh, lol xD
***** The ghost trailer
no moose antlers!? wow no wonder it didn't start!
There is no better sound in the world than an ice cold diesel waking up on a cold winter morning
My x girlfriend was a lot better
wasn't sure if its actually a cummins thank goodness for the stickers!
I owned a 7.3 powerstroke and that is hard to believe anything below 10°f it wasn't starting with out a fight unless it was plugged in my 12v fires right up no issues
+mason phillips my 7.3 started in below zero CO mountains everytime, no fight and never had to plug it in, everyone was always surprised when I said that, she was just cold blooded
Wasn't sure if you were actually a fuckhead thank goodness for your comment
+Hayden DiRienzo your welcome
Sure sign of a tool - smoke stacks and Cummins stickers pasted all over the place.
I love how Cummins owners don’t even like other Cummins owners.
A pissin match between alphas
Damn right I'll see a newer cummins and purposely roll as much coal on them as possible.
@@devynbarker4193 I see an older Cummins and flip to space shuttle mode just to show em the new 6.7 tunes. All of you valve heads think because your truck is old and Smokey from use and abuse it means it’s a fast or nice truck lmao let’s hook ‘em up
@@PSIorDIE not necessarily just beautifully simple!!
It's just a 24 valve thing lol
How many starter motors do you get to the gallon ?
2 funny dude
I just spit dr. Pepper out everywhere reading this thanks for the good laugh
senor250 best comment ever
4 yrs later still funny
senor250 exactly what I was thinking
If you have a Cummins and don't have at least 1 maybe 2 'C' decals on the back window, do you really have a Cummins?
Evan Pecora the answer is no
Evan Pecora I’m jealous if my freind his truck is more of a Cummins then mine I have one Cummins sticker he has 4
Sneakyshark14 I've got the "objects in the mirror are loosing" stickers they are awesome lol
These kids now days
Smit1791 theres a big one on the front too
That smoke just killed a hippy camp!!!
imao :')
+Scott Harkness , not if the fuel were hash oil, they'd be sucking that BIG exhaust pipe for sure!!!
Scott Harkness good
And your kids along the planet, but no loss there I guess.
Lmao that's what I was thinking wow
The moment you relize all these comments from 2+ years ago
sorry boss that I'm late had to start my dodge Cummins
Boss: time to start looking for a powerstroke
Hell yea l have a 7.3
Eric Jones has
Sorey boss had to start my diesel truck in negative weather *
andrey simonovich You upset?
Is that a Cummins? Couldn't tell by all the badges and stickers.
pete.lamonica holy shit 😂😂
Never understood why they feel the need to put those stickers everywhere and badges...
pete.lamonica
IT LIRTERY SAID CUMMINS IN THE TITTLE
that joke flew right over your head didnt it? lmao you totally missed it,
I love how at the end when they finally got this Cummins to start on a chilly day, they still tried to find a way to classify it as better than a powerstroke by blaming the batteries lmao those batteries are strong as hell to turn that pos motor for 7.5 minutes.
Facts
My 99 24 valve has 150,000 on her and after one cycle of the glow plugs below freezing she fires up without a puff of smoke. Bone stock and pulls 12,000 lbs like it's nothing without all that smoke belching on other folks. 17 mpg loaded, 21 mpg empty. Wish like hell they would bring the 5.9 back into production.
Do you realize how much your truck is worth? Cummins only made 1 engine with glow plugs and you have it.
I know what I have, that's why I'm still driving a 24 yr old truck. As far as what it's worth I've turned down $12,000 and $14,000 offers. I couldn't replace it for that with anything even close to as reliable and efficient. Won't be selling anytime soon to say the least
For all the people saying the mods done to this are the reason why it won't start. It says it's a sled puller in the description so it most likely has summer diesel in it, which is more in likely gelled up.
TwoWheelJockey yea but people are morons and don't like to read.
Uses it only to sled pull but it’s parked on the street like a daily driver 😂😂😂😂
Who the fuck puts a toolbox in a sled puller?
N huge injectors 👌. Mine fires at zero no problems no plugs ,
@@richardturner7560 more weight over the rear wheels = better traction.
Use Diesel 911 and your fuel won't gel up makes a cold start easygoing especially on those 24 valves ..oh FYI plug your block heater in
You only use Diesel 911 when youre already gelled up. Use the white bottle Power Service to prevent gelling.
Ethan Ashley haha ya because it works 😂
@Adam L hell yah
Yea yea stay in the kitchen
Adam L damn had to do her like that
I cannot believe I spent 7.5 minutes of my life watching this.
i've watched this video maybe 4 or 5 times lol

Oh dear...I can't believe you responded to that. Holy fuck, hahahaha :)
Still can't believe you're commenting on that. I ask myself who is the greater Fool.
Judging by your spelling I beg to differ. You never cease to amaze me.
Awww you called me Buddy! You're amazing :)
+hawtchick69 and "feel the love tonight" come on in the backround.
ever hear of something called a block heater?
Brown Ranch Customs apparently not
Thank god somebody else said it before me
They use a grid heater for the wait to start but when you plug it in it’s a block heater, goes into the coolant by the oil cooler
Wyatt Klingensmith I believe you are incorrect. Cummins use grid heaters not glow plugs. They still can have block heaters
Cummins start exceptional in cold weather unless you have big injectors. Most Cummins don’t even have a plug to plug in a heater. It must be ordered n installed separate.
Reminds me of a 335 I had, thirty some years ago. Advanced the fuel pump timing ten degrees, added a #9 button to the pump, along with a 260 spring. Truck would run with the new NTC 350 all day. It would sit there like yours does, and blow smoke rings for an hour.
You guys crack me up reading through all the comments... This isn't your normal every day Cummins when these things get a lot of cam work done and a high timing pump they don't want to start cold or not cold. Any diesel when taken this far will do the same thing. Either way guys all this stuff looks real funny keep it up!
the fuel was probably partially gelled to
needs to put a additive in the tank
needs to put a additive in the tank
Hi Michael I was just watching the video and reading the replies to. There is a whole pile of guys here commenting know F@#k all about tuning for truck and tractor pullers. With how they start and run even in the summer on a hot day, until they warm up a bit. With cam work, compression lowered a wicked timing setting , and a good chunk of over fueling flooding it out a bit. I'm impressed it even started in the winter without a circulating block heater and half a can of ether like some pullers need to get them going for a run !.
Michael Troyer then how about you plug the shit in.
have you tried checking your blinker fluid?
No I think he doesn't have enough cummins stickers
Lmao
Jordan Whited lmao
That def the problem
Sea Bear no shit dumbass it’s a joke
He looks like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber.
and acts like him too
the old style cummins never let you down unless you do stuff to them. the older 12v 6bt is a hugely reliable engine.
I agree
Yep, run many many many of them in the logging woods. They keep going and going. I've run skidders with so many hours that they needed a gallon and a half of oil every single day. They still pulled logs though.
Must have good batteries to crank that long!
Yeah. I wanna know where they go to get there's
austin bailey HAD good batteries 😂
@@edstababy yea!!!! Was good! Lol
I love this video, been watching for years this one video. But the fact that it has millions of views is wild bruh!!! Well deserved!
by far one of the hardest starts ive seen, and yes, def get that manifold leak fixed, lol
That Cummins sounds great! I enjoyed hearing that great sound, and also seeing that smoke exit the smokestack!
why is this recommended to me 6 years later
9 years*
Same
Its called UA-cam random video shuffling, they have MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of videos being shuffled daily.
Almost as much smoke as a Detroit . Thanks for posting video makes me Glad I live in Texas
my '01 cummins never has an issue with cold starts, sure it doesn't fire on the first key turn. However, after following the cold start instructions on the visor but depressing the throttle down to about the 1,000-1,200rpm area and turning the key. it starts up like a champ. also block heaters are an amazing thing in diesels. btw i like in houghton, coldest start i've done was in -25 degree weather.
That thing looks, ounds and smells awesome!!! I cant wait to get mine!!
Did you get one?
Never saw a Cummins start this hard damn 😂
Wow, that's one hard starting truck!
Dude. No dude. Sweet dude. Dude? Yeah dude. Sweet dude.
Damn dude.
Ladco77 DUDE?
Dee O. Gee dude what does mine say.
Dee O. Gee seriously dude??
@@INTERNATIONAL_RDF-D SWEET! what does mine say
Even though I dont have a diesel I know how tough it can be to start my vehicle up in the morning. My 70 chevelle doesnt have a working choke so it takes a while lol.
Good ol 12 valve already started and idling in the background 💪
Love the stacks
Wow.... Definitely keeps me from wanting to modify my Cummins. I am bone stock except Airdog 100 and K&N cold air on my 2001 24 valve and as long as I don't have a fuel gel problem it will fire up no problem no matter how cold the temp. I live in Denver so we do see negative temperature quite often during the winter months.
Rocky mountain high
Mountain man
I bought an 01 brand new. Still have it to this day still stock also. Mine is same way. Starts up no problem at 430 000. Like the day I bought it.
And children this is why us truck driver's with real diesel engines plug are trucks in.
awesome. cool to see one cyl firing on the right side till she warmed up. good show.
gotta love 3 cylinder cold idle!
My 24 valve starts with just one warm up and crank it is simple use the heater plug i have started own down -10 to -15
LOL! "That starts harder then a powerstroke dude" LMHO!
Yah, a 6.0 liter. My 6.7 Pstroke starts right up no matter what temp in Chicago
Red top Optimas, a 6.4 starter and cycle the glow plugs twice and my 6.0 fires right up. I've had it -9 and fired it up.
@@jonburbridge2968 Same here I dont even plug my 6.0 powerstroke in and rarely drive it in the winter and its only once not started and that was because the batteries froze because it was so cold out. I had to get two new batteries, and as soon as I put the two new batteries in it she fired right up she didn't like it but it started way better than any Cummins that's for sure. Cummins are the worst cold starting diesels out there and this video proves it once again
That's also dissing school busses bro, many of them use the same engines.
@@superstar64 And that's why they cancel school. Bus won't start!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best cold start on UA-cam!!!!!!
I remember first seeing this vid. Always amazes me.
Here in Brazil in the winter (only in the southern region) we use 2% of kerosene in the fuel tank, greatly improves the cold start.
Here in Brazil😆
Back before we had to start using low sulfur and then ultra low sulfur diesel here in the states we would blend our fuel up to 50/50 #2 diesel and kerosene (which is actually equivalent to #1 diesel) depending on how cold the temperatures were dropping
Those are some cool stacks....said no one ever
Chris T little bitch aren’t ya
I had to unlike so it would stay at 69 likes
I say their cool, boy.
i will never understand how they got popular
Chris T I like them lol
Haha he's says try it one more time with the glow plugs 😂 Grid heater dude
I thought I was the only one that caught that lol
I caught it I was gonna post but you already did lmao big diesel guy this kid is lmao
Good hell........he was drug through the stupid forest and hit every tree on the way through.
Might've been a joke
You sure that thing has a Cummins in it? All the stickers and badges suggest it probably does . . . but you never know!
Zack Zander this comment had me dead lmfao
Its better then your gay Ford
Man I love your truck. It looks and sounds great.Hope you plan on making more videos of it.
Wow dude just invest in an extension cord and plug it in! You are KILLING your starter!
I love cold start videos but I've had like 4 of these trucks over the years and I have noticed that no one ever seems to pump the gas pedal, I live in Northern PA and by bumping the gas my trucks always fired right up, then I just kept it at 1,000 rpms for a minute and they are fine lol love the video
The beautiful sound of a 24V cummins
You killed that motor.
+AntiqueFarmImplement You really could probably crank that starter for up to 30-40 seconds and it'd be fine.
AntiqueFarmImplement Oh no, as long as you aren't running glow plugs and trying to crank it for a minute and a half it ain't nothing. Like I know with the old M1008/9 CUCV's you can't get them to start without cranking the engine for less than that, and usually after a couple tries.
cranking it isn't a problem. It's the pounding the crank bearings get from running on one cylinder.
+bower31 this is a cummins, no glow plugs. it has a grid heater and if the description of the video is right it could be deleted
I own a 2003 cummins and the reason being why someone would delete it is stupid
The neighbors must love living near this guy. Jebus!
In the Winter of 2007/2008 in Silverton, CO my 2006 dodge ram 2500 5.9 cummins started in -25 F. Wasn't plugged in. I've cold started it in -20 temps every Winter since then. (bone stock minus 8" lift with 37's ;))Let the intake heater warm the air before starting.
its usually the trucks thats had mods like tuners and exhausts that are the most difficult to cold start. Its best to leave em stock, and take care of them.
Exhaust has nothing to do with hard starts.
Its like an old locomotive.
Imagine running late to work and this is what you have as vehicle 😂 callin my boss right away
5 below is such a good store ! !
You can see the individual combustion sequences in the smoke. I think this is why Dodge specs smaller pipes.
don't know why i watched this 5 times now
Hey there is this awesome thing I discovered a few days ago! It's called a block heater! You should try it sometime.
Use a micro lube that soaks into metal like zmax in the winter months this helps tremendously with colds starting and saves the motor against cold start wear and tear.
ohhh you gotta do the wait to start thing again
What kinda batteries you running??
neighbors must love you Billybob
that friend that knows everything
My powerstroke starts just fine after setting out in the cold for weeks
I work in a warehouse where a lot of delivery vans still use the 7.3 Powerstroke even the 7.3 idi. Unfortunately quite a few of these engines are too dependent on ether.
All the 6.0s and definitely 6.4s are all gone. The DT466s are still running around and startup fine no matter what. Some guys are still running old school 6bts. Can't beat an old Cummins or International.
what i find sad is this video says 5 below, in canada that -20, we start are trucks at -41.3*C now thats cold, (thats the same in F*)
Dang bro... she was angry. lol. Thats awesome. Much Respect.
I like the video just for the amount of snow alone
5:36 "dude id fix that manifold leak"
Right. He supposedly built the hell out of this thing but it has a leaky manifold 😂
"Naaa it's fine" me at that age
My truck has a bad leak and it still runs fin... well I mean it runs
I think a dentist is next on the Christmas list along with a extension cord and a powerstroke.
TheStormwalker9 wow man you were all up in his mouth ? Interesting!
Sooo, a Powerjoke would work fine without the block heater plugged in? Really? Okay...
It helps when you leave the grid heater on. It doesn't actually block enough air to hurt power.
I've enjoyed your video, if only for the cam lope if nothing else, thanks for posting it
Cycle the fucking key more, you're gonna go through more starters than front end bushings
Hey, I don't care. Not my money. Just saying, cycle the key more and it'll make it easier to start.
dtowndontbl1nk kķ
dtowndontbl1nk warm up the glow plugs to heat up the combustion chamber better ya mean?
Michael Gillette lmfao grid heater is cycle key, Everytime you cycle it till the wait to start light turns off, it warms up, and gets hotter more times you do it. I bet if he cycled the key a few times in a row, would of started no problem
I throw shit in smoke stacks like that.
thats just fucked up what are you jealous cause you cant get a cummins ?? lol
Of you threw anything in my stacks and I saw it I would beat your ads
Nate Masse city boy has nothing to do with it. Plenty of country bumpkins are the biggest pieces of shit I've ever met.
I love the sound
Love these regular cab short bed 2nd gens. Wish they still made that configuration.
That's a regular cab long bed. They still make them.
Quick way to fry the starter,,,,,,,, dude. LMAO
Ydnar Slohcin and the battery
I love how he has smoke stacks and a tool box in there making part of the bed a tad bit useless, what I do is stick a tool bag behind the seats and have a normal exhaust making my truck more practical.
I took a video of my 93 D250 cummins in 18*, started right up!
Every Dieselhead Gangsta till the temps start dropping
Enough cummins logos?
Diesel Lozano You aint never have enough
I think not.
Your Destroying the Starter -batt and the truck for the sake of some black smoke?
dude do you hear yourself so what just replace them lol
Not to mention that guy is probably destroying his lungs by being in that cab.
I remember my 24V starting hard like that one winter. Bad intake heater, and didn't plug her in, and it got colder than five below. Pretty sure the neighbors were pissed, considering all the smoke. Lol
Best getaway vehicle I’ve ever seen
“Try it one more time with the glow plugs!”
Hey buddy Cummins don't have glow plugs they have grid heaters no not block heaters grid heaters it heats the air before it enters the engine
@@tristanburke2451 no shit kid, he was makin fun of the trucks owner

Kim Sanchez not funny didn’t laugh
Kim Sanchez lol
Still best cold start video out there
damn they had good starters.
U guys have trouble starting ur cars in cold im over here in nevada and i can open my car hood and have a burst of HOT air right in my face
Dang he's rolling coal
We have a rusted old cub cadet tractor model 7300 that’s 20+ years old. It’s a diesel and sometimes if it’s stupid cold it won’t turn over period cause the battery but if it turns over. It. WILL. Start. It’s guaranteed to start with in 10 seconds of cranking and NEVER stalls unless you bog down the engine from being hard on it while operating it. I start it every day / every other day from October to April in the cold. And it’s never failed us yet.
P.S we haven’t touched anything on the engine except for the fluids and obviously batteries in the 20 years time we owned it (duh)
The greatest sound in the world
Id be checkin wires for meltdown
Huh ?
Too cold for that lol
It took 7 and and 1/2 minutes to start it. In that time, I would have already driven myself to work in my car...lol
but cars pollute the environment...
I have a 6.7 in a 3500 07.. It started at -17 without letting the heater heat.. It stumbled a little but smoothed out very quickly..
Never doubt the Cummins
My powerstroke starts every day. No matter how cold. And I didn't even have to put any extra "powerstroke" sticker on it.
