@@traverewarren1039 I have to agree. I bought a new 2012 Laramie it was 90K sticker price (didn't pay that). 2 tone paint and every bell and whistle. Now to replace that truck(no mudflaps or 2tone paint) is easily over 130k in Canada. I went to go look at a new one and really there were no justifiable changes to make it worth that much more.
I dont think id ever start my 92 up at that temp lol although the ve is better with the cold compared to the 2 different injection pumps on the 2nd gens. Nice cold start man.
They seem to ay. My brothers old 92 only had one battery and it would start easily at minus 20 Celsius. I think they retard timing on startup don’t they? I always wondered if you found a way to drop fuel pressure for start up on a Ppump if it would cold start a little better?
@@chevy6794 I don't have the ksb hooked up or the grid heater and my truck starts up just fine in the upper 30s. I have a really well taken care of engine though. Soooo I'm clearly no mechanic but used to live in La Ronge for a year as I notice familiar plates buuuut half an hour we'd run the car for 15 minutes at most. Especially when I've seen a 1968 F-100 get enough temp to be good to go in 5 minutes in -40 raw temp before wind chill.... Anyway just seems a little much for only -36
I think this might have a sticky injector? You can run them cold. Maybe 5 mins of warm up. There a little noisy and lazy but excessive idle is actually bad for them. Washes the cylinder walls. Plus they will not warm up idling.
@user-qx9mn5mh9d heats the side of the block on the coolant side (passenger) does keep the oil temp above freezing. Usually engine temp (coolant) stays at about 50-75 degrees f

Some say that truck is still warming up to this very day.
😂😂
Nothing smells as good as a Cummins on a cool crisp morning 🤤😎💨
Yeah😎😎😎
Great sounding truck man, greetings from Alberta. These things are becoming rare finds nowadays.
Yes they are!

Not that bad just not as nice as a ford @russphillips3732
Grid heater- not glow plug lol
i was thinking this
Every cummins guy ever died screaming at their tvs 😂
Love my 5.9 too, sounds like a sticky injector
Yep, putting some 7x0.010 SAC in it
Wow now that is one hard cold start
Wow i wanna smell the smoke smells great
The fact that I found your channel because I was looking at diesel videos is hilarious! Miss ya old neighbor!
Eric, where were we neighbors?
At the apartments in Airdrie, I have the blue Sierra
@erichermann4681 ohhhhhh hahahahaha hey Eric! Lol
at the 10 min mark, change the playback speed to .25; you can hear the individual cylinders firing
Lol nice 👌
Every 2nd individual cylinder 😂
Crazy it’s only 3 cylinders firing at that point
Exactly why I moved from Saskatchewan to Calgary ha, I was told its a good idea to leave it in neutral to warm transmission
Best cold start of 2022!!!!!!
My eyes are watering
🤣🤣🤣
Love to smell the smoke

That thing needs some work!! Mine doesn't act like that, and I don't even plug mine in. And yes it gets cold where i'm at too.
Maybe a sticky valve or broken banjo bolt stuck relieving too much pressure
awesome!
Was this truck in red deer. Literally just seen it parked over by the chapters on the south end of town
That's me out christmas shopping lol
How long does it take to start on freezing cold mornings when it hasn't been used for several days?
A bit
Mmm not a cold start if its plugged 🤔 look up my cold start unplugged, thats how you do it ✌️ very nice 2nd gen too keep him alive
