THE TRIP: Three Days of Trains with TJ -- Day 1: Muncie, IN-Oak Harbor, OH

On July 28th of last year, my buddy TJ and I embarked on a 3 day boys trip to Sandusky, OH to Great Wolf Lodge and back. While the main goal was to spend time at the lodge, going to Sandusky offers many opportunities to photograph trains on the way there, in town, and on the way back. We decided to follow NS's Chicago Line into Sandusky on our way there. However, trains on the New Castle District pinned us down while heading north from TJ's place in Muncie, including a rerouted OCS and NS 8104 on a 64D building at Bluffton.
We finally made it onto the Chicago Line around noon, and by that point things had cooled off mightily and we went from Butler to Oak Harbor without seeing many trains, but what we did see was good enough for us. I wanted to check into the lodge at 4 PM, which we weren't able to do and once we were running over 3 hours late, I decided to throw away some westbound trains that we could have caught leaving Toledo, one of which was 29P with a Fakebonnet leading a leased WFRX SD70MAC (to this day I regret not waiting on it). Still, we caught some pretty awesome trains during our first whole day together!
