The Duo: Rio Grande Tunnel Motor duo leads Wheeling 430 eastbound on the CF&E.

Word on the street was that the weekly interchange train from the Wheeling and Lake Erie in Brewster to the IORY in Lima was utilizing BOTH DRGW tunnelmotors on its run west. With the following day free from other responsibilities, it was a no brainer for me to chase the train back east. I, and several other railfans, had the same idea. However, due to getting into Lima fairly late the day before, the train ended up being backlit most of its run east on the CF&E, which the Wheeling utilizes trackage rights on to reach Lima. Despite that, I wasn't going to pass up something I had wanted to see for so long just because of the sun being in the wrong place in the sky. I marked off a huge bucket list item that day and got all the shots I had planned on getting as well between Lima and Crestline. There were quite a few enthusiasts along for the chase as well, but by the time the train passed Upper Sandusky, I was the only one left. Definitely one of my favorite catches of the year!
