I’m just really thankful to whoever decided that aespa’s vocal direction needed to be changed a bit because these few last releases the girls all have been sounding very comfortable in their ranges and it makes such a difference. Especially for Winter, god knows her vocal cords needed a break
The thing with aespa having such an amazing discography and distinctive sound is possible because of how talented they are. They're all such good singers (like Karina not even being in the vocal line is such a flex) but also honestly they all are very good rappers, they know how to ride a beat and each of them has their own very well curated and personal flows. But most importantly they are very aware of their talents and know how to deliver, they embodied and elevated "kill it" so perfectly and then jumped into "flights not feelings" like it was nothing. Honestly congratulations to all the sm staff involved into creating aespa and thanks to sm for always pushing boundaries and investing into art eventhough it might not be the most profitable.
5:30 i agree so much! i usually dont love when lyrics get a bit repetitive but the way aespa changes the line distribution plus how the beat/melody(?) changes every chorus makes it so enjoyable to listen to and its sooo suiting for the genre. love how all the members feel so authentic to the concept and comfortable in their expressions. great video as always 🫶
You should deff react to their Vocal recording videos with their raw vocals recording these songs if you haven't already its such an experience lol, Karina's voice seriously may be one of my favourites there's just something soooooooo spicy about it I believe she really is such a solid all-rounder... Aespa is my go-to example of musical growth in kpop. These girls have just been consistently one-upping themselves. Musically ofc, but also in performance, skill and confidence. It's such a joy watching them on stage these days. Edit: I alos watched the bts recording for whiplash and I love how when they were directnig winter's parts they said to lean into the winter-ness of her vocals. Like SHE KNOWS what makes her vocals so charming and she owns it. And ningning was just straight vibing in the recording booth. Aespa recording videos just ooze confidence
Aespa branding is just so freaking strong. Their musical and visual identity is so unique and their really truly were able to make it their own. It's just so recognizable and I love to see it. I love to see people immediately thinking of aespa when seeing certain aesthetic and clothing items and stuff because it shows how much their image is consistent while also being really versatile and in continuous development. I really liked this album, it's one of the most cohesive ones from them for sure. Flowers, flight not feelings and whiplash were my highlights for sure even if i really liked also just another girl, really nostalgic. Whiplash may be a bit repetitive but it works really well for the genre, just as you said. And tbh i enjoy it even more just listening to it. It truly makes you feel like you are some kind of diva walking the runway with paparazzi fighting to take a pic of you lol Just to cvnty, it would be so good in a club. Kill it is really interesting but it's a bit too much in some parts, not completely my style. Just as pink hoodie. Flowers is honestly a masterpiece to me I just absolutely adore it. Flights not feelings bring you to another dimension. It feels like floating in the void to me. It's really interesting sonically and it works perfectly. Just another girl is a more classic sound but it feels really nostalgic and I dig it not gonna lie. Overall a good album, really cohesive, really on brand while also experimenting sonically new things and making them absolutely work. What i love about stanning groups that have capable singers is that they truly can give justice to a song. I find that right now aespa are really confident in their skills and it shows in their music and attitude. Even if you watch the recording they really immerse themselves in the music and deliver beautifully every single line. To me aespa is a really beautiful thing in kpop right now. Really stands out and they are able to do really well both in Korea and abroad while never giving up on their sound to chase the trends. Truly one of the most interesting groups in the kpop scene at the moment, that's for sure. Also love their choreos recently! And love how giselle is getting her time to shine. DESERVED.

I've only ever stanned one girl group and that was/is SNSD. I find it so funny how I didn't like aespa at first - I was not a fan of Savage (EP) or Girls (EP - except for Illusion), so I didn't even bother giving them another try after those. HOWEVER - My World (EP) just won me over. From then on, I just felt like the songs got better and better, and were definitely my type of songs. The range, the experimentation of vocals, everything was just amazing. I officially stan my second girl group!!! (I love other girl groups, but not enough to stan them).
2024 is definitely their year! Every song was hit, even Karina's solo (that wasn't even official lol). They're it girls and 4th generation signature group 🤫 also, apparently they spoiled the next SM girl group name in the Whiplash video, just like it happened with them with NCT and Superm videos!
