Swordburst 1 was supposed to bring players the feel of SAO, SB2 was supposed to be that but on a much bigger scale, and World // Zero was supposed to be their most innovative project yet, but along the way of making W//Z they realised how profitable a braindead cash grab game is, and while every single one of their younger audience plays W//Z, SB3 was meant to cater to the younger audience but it didn't, which is why it failed
The main issue is that unique RPGs like Fantastic Frontier or Arcane Odyssey wont get as much attention as something like GPO(Grand Payment Online) because roblox pushes games that make them the most money. So you will have a very difficult time in finding unique and innovating roblox rpgs because of their corporate greed and agenda that roblox puts on its platform. Tho games like Sinborn might be worth looking at.
AO has gotten a decent amount of shine and player count for a still very early access game, I'm pretty sure a year from now it will be the top rpg game in Roblox. It alr has a pretty big community and it's still consistently growing. As more updates come it will be able retain more and more players to consistently. There's a qol update coming that doesn't seem like much and no where as big as the darksea upd.. but I see this upd making a rlly big impact on getting alot more casual players to stay to play. The rework on deckhands Is the biggest take away for this, but there's tons of small additions that make the game a lot more entertaining while playing casually, being able to fish while the boat is sailing, new gem secondary effects, and more treasure hunting unique items. Make the game far more entertaining for casual players. With this being said I think AO is will stay on the pretty steep upward trend it's been on since dark sea update.
to be fair, fantastic frontier hasnt gotten an update in 3 or 4 years and arcane odyssey is still in early access. though I totally agree that roblox likes money and not actual games
@@Selectorchroblox is by far the worst platforn to be developing games on tbh... Most games with potential end up lost in a limbo of shitty games that people spam hoping that one day it'll be noticed by the algorithm...
One of the main and biggest issues is these games keep trying to come out the gate with nothing. I may not be a developer, but I do know some about the game development processes. And I'm just learning one major thing that needs to be SCREAMED at these devs. If you make a game, you either need to make sure it's coming out COMPLETED, (As in you can at the very least have 2 weeks to a months worth of content OR replayability), or you need to have Multiple little ready-to-go opdates in between your big content. E.X. Further below. You make a game, Bleach game, you want it out despite knowing it doesn't have content. Before you release, stockpile a few small updates and things to add to the game, that way, in the middle of your bigger substansial updates, you can have some things sprinkled over the course of time. If Players see that there's still content ACTIVELY being added, they stick around in anticipation. Make hitsuguya's, Mayuri,, and Ukitake's Shikai, release one of them after a week of release. Wait a week to let the players play with their new toy, maybe 2 if they're really liking it. Then drop the next one of the three. Rinse repeat, they get content, and feel like you haven't left them out to dry, and you get more free-time to make your big content update which could add much more critical/intricate features/stuff.
I 100% agree. I’d like to add that a discord shouldn’t be made public until development is like 90% done. Because if you start it while barely completing the game you will either 1. Get stressed out or 2. Rush the game or even both in some cases
If only Fantasic frontier update wasnt taking so long. Feel like thats a universal of good rpg's, the updates take quite a long time since the devs actually care about the quality of their updates.
There's a big problem withing the rpg development community that is permadeath Every dev nowadays seems to think that the solution to their game is adding perma death or making a permadeath game to begin with Abbadon will be having perma death Serenity abandoned ember rain mid development to work on Realm of Ruin, which will be perma death Iltria abandoned Verdant Moon to go work on Deepwoken Darillu dropped Mountfall to work on Archived, which will have permadeath And i dont mean any of that is wrong. But the roguelike genre is not only time consuming, but also a niche of a niche. And, of course, of the games that are not perma death, they are either closed community like demon hunter or outright cashgrabs like holy war X And dont even get me started on ship progression and sea exploration.

Personally, I find most games repetitive, lazy, lacking in quality, unbalanced, broken by roblox, ruined by its community, or just unfinished if none of the above apply. Very few devs are looking to innovate or improve gaming on roblox like vetex is, so yeah there’s obviously a drought of games worth playing. Vetex is basically carrying the whole genre of roblox rpgs rn, but there’s only so much one guy can do.
I played an rpg called rpg champions and it’s basically afk simulator while listening to anime music. There’s a auto swing button to left click while ur afk
Pilligramed is an excellent example of an adventure game. As an experienced player with over 10 hours of gameplay, I can confirm that this game is full of adventure. The maps are well-designed and provide a challenging yet enjoyable gameplay experience.

That’s real you said everything I saw for 10 years of roblox’s rpg playing. The rpg was, for a long time, type of game and in roblox it’s what I enjoyed to play the most but for real, for like 4 years, roblox rpg game started to do a bigggg step back wew. Blade Art Online, Deepwoken, and Rogue Lineage are the top dogs in Roblox RPGs. They mix cool game stuff, awesome worlds, and tons of players who are crazy about them. They show exactly what a top RPG in Roblox should be. The SAO game brings the SAO world into Roblox, using anime and book stuff to make this cool virtual place. They're all about hardcore gameplay. They throw in permadeath, where if you kick the bucket, you lose everything. It's intense, but it makes everything feel super important. You get really attached to your character and their journey. But these games aren't just about the game rules. They're all about the players too. They push you to team up, fight, and build cool groups. It's like a whole world where everyone's part of the story. And the developers? They're always on the ball. They're always updating, fixing stuff, and listening to players. They're always making things better, which keeps everyone hyped to play more.
