That shadow of the lip pitching over at 1:01 & then the pull in...gets the blood pumping every time. Can't believe it was breaking all the way out by Ruby's and actually held up, usually it's just a pure washout if it's that far out. Not sure how I missed this vid, solid as always!

Mike Lucas Media Yeah I find it hard because the Gold Coast rarely has perfect conditions and annoyingly when I was there for holidays last week the waves were soo good and I got some great rides but my mouth mount only came when I got back home the next day!
this video is such an old video but it will always be one of my favorites haha

I am 13 years old and i take surf photos and bodyboard. I was just wondering if you can give me some tips on how you hold you breath for the big surf. i have surfed 6-7 foot before but i got worked and nilly drowned. Also how would i be able to find your bodyboard. i would love one. You have said in the comments that you have had it for 9 years WOW!!!! Keep up the videos champ i love them.

Stephanie Turner First, it's a mouth mount. Second, they sell bodyboard mounts. U put it in ur board the way u put a leash plug in.

+B Smithers yeah as you get to the bait house its probably 4-5 ft deep, but by Rubys where its first breaking its about 8-12 ft deep

Anyone got a recommendation of a bodyboard leash? Needs to be good and strong, but not to expensive.
most leashes are pretty solid now days, you just need to choose bicep or wrist leash and i use bicep when i do put my leash on it says out of the way much better than wrist

Are you more of a bodyboarder than a surfer? I've noticed you've leaned more towards bodyboarding recently.
+conor27 I've always done both since i was very young, first surfed growing up then joined junior guards and would bodyboard and bodysurf as well, i like doing aerials on bodyboard and thats like the funnest thing for me but i really decide on conditions if theres powerful lips and ramps to hit (bodyboarding), or clean shoulders to rip up (surfing)
oh sick, I did junior guards as well and that's how i learned surfing.
