Can't agree more! This interior design they exploit far too long. The exterior has been with us quite a while too. I haven't own one but I'm a little bored with it. In terms of Mercedes, yes, it always been and, probably, will be the leader. It just always brings the innovations into the class.

However whenever I've seen a 7 series, the thing always catches my eye with it's big grill and massive size even though they are pretty similar in size. The 7 series just feels bigger. I still prefer BMW interior design to whatever Mercedes did to their interiors. Attaching screens everywhere and shit doesn't make it any more luxurious.

But the interior is severely dated against that Benz or even something like Genesis G90. BMW needs an entirely new interior direction after having served this basic design for decades. I really hope they go radically different in their upcoming electrification revolution.

Check out my UA-cam, I have a 2010 & I updated my screen. Has UA-cam, Google Maps you name it Full Android & iDrive, looks better than this and most other new BMWs lol. 12.3 inches

You overlooked the hot and cold control under the front vent , which I think is a redundant feature because when you adjust the vent duration , it will move the direction of hot and cold panel so easily that cause a sudden hot or cold situation.
Imagine buying a $103K flagship car and not having standard cooled seats? Non-standard leather dash?(and the graining of the plastic dash is a bit low-rent)? Yes, the S580 is more expensive, but it does come with a far more premium interior and more standard features.
@@MauriceBln1 Had a friend visit the benz dealership looking for a GLS, and the guy took us to see a S-Class. The BMW may be "classically elegant" but the Mercedes is straight up cooler.

MB just lost it's charm in all aspects of the car from exterior to interior. Though as time goes on, I guess we will associate the S class with it's current design language so eventually it will become our definition of the optime of luxury but as of right now? A class rear Simple Front. The bimmer looks extremely classy from the rear. I think that is it's main strength. And obviously as a lot of presense from the front with it's big grill.

I don't agree that it looks old fashioned. It looks traditional and I wouldn't even say that current cars look hightech, but I would rather say they look and feel cheap. Current cars feel like manufacturers do not make design anymore, but that their main job is to cut production cost and unfortunately many customers buy it as simplistic design which it isn't and think an oversized ipad is hightech, but real ergonomic hightech i.e. is the idrive controller and that crisp head up display. Don't forget about this super compfy seats that you can adjust in every possible way and hightech also is the way this car handles sporty and luxurious drive.
I did sometimes, at least save some money due to high gasoline and maintenance , and when you have to eat fast food from point a to point b during lunch hour.

The interior is just a snooze fest. Their designs evolve too slowly, if you didn’t know this was new, you could say this was a 7 series from any of the last almost 10 years, these things are certainly not breaking any sales numbers. Boring and out dated looking. This is a grandpa car. Benz is running circles around them, so is genesis.

I love mine. Only had 12k miles when I bought it. I'm afraid to say what I paid because it genuinely was a STEAL from a elder couple 😂😂😂 I've done all of the maintenance using a warranty I purchased. Changed out all hoses prone to leaks. And I'm nearing 110k miles.
I’ve gotta be honest although this car is already 6 years old it’s still looking fresh to me hopefully they won’t ruin it on the next gen coming next year

You don't drive cars for the interior buddy. This car is better looking than the grandpa S class & the boring A8.

sport-luxury, try the Mercedes AMG GT 63. I just traded in my 2020 911 Porsche Carrera 4S for my AMG. With the RENNtech is has 670 HP and 690 Torque.
