Hi Emma, if you tie a loose loop of rope around the small bent tree and then tie the other end around one of those large trees, then every 2 weeks pull the rope up a bit more, by the spring the little bent tree should be straight and holding its own, when it's straight you could support it with a good strong stake.🙂
I really loved the fact that you were using hand tools and not machinery. I do too as much as possible as I hate the noise my Allotment neighbours make with all their power tools and the awful smell they generate too. Many a day I have given up and gone home because of it. I have a push mower and shears etc which cause no nuisance, noise or pollution and give me a good workout for free. Really enjoy your content.
You have the most overworked rake and shears in the UK. I’ve seen the odd comment about how long it’s taking to sort Plot 2 but how many people would even take on a plot like this armed with just shears and a rake. I think you’re bossing it! I’ve planted some Snake Head Lillies too. They are pretty cool. Can’t wait to see it in spring
Hi Emma I get anxiety too and I just want to thank you because even listening to your videos on my headphones whilst I’m anxious helps, watching your videos is so relaxing, Informative, funny, nature loving ❤️ If I was in your shoes I would open an Amazon account and make a public wish list to let all your viewers see what you need and maybe buy something they can afford, because I’m so grateful for your videos and I’d certainly help xx
Hi Emma, just a thought about all those sticks and junk wood, you might try losing those in a side Hugo culture garden bed, dig a trench or bed putting the soil to one side and chuck all the sticks and wood into the trench then recover the bed with the soil you dug out along with the compost.
What a shame the council don’t provide a space to put rubbish from plots so people could take anything they could use from the pile and then once a month they clear the lot🤷🏻♀️
Your twig/branch ‘fence’ will make an excellent wildlife habitat, I would potentially extend it further along the plot. Bees, hedgehogs, Einstein, lacewings, ladybirds, frogs/toads- they will all thankyou for it. Plus, it saves you having to cart it all to the tip
Emma, I am glad you are feeling better. with that tree that is flopping over, maybe it could be tied with a rope to another tree next to it to prop it up. It might last longer than the stick.
I burn all my sticks last week small bonfire i just kept on adding them a bit as a time whilst i drank a hot coffee. Just needed a few fire lighters small twigs to start it. Got rid of loads of twigs etc.
Hi Emma. Loved the music when you were sorting the tree out. You could use some of the sticks an longer thin branches to make a woven veg bed side or two.
Put the sticks in the bottom of your beds before you put soil etc in them to fill them . They will rot down releasing nutrients over the next few years and you don't need so much soil in them. Depending on how deep your beds are will determine whether you can put roots in that bed straight away.
Emma if you wack 2 sturdy posts vertically into the ground about 1 foot apart and do this repeatedly in a line. I think these will act to the contain the sticks that you are put horizontally between in the area by the compost bins. This may act as a natural fence and solve your what to do with the sticks issues. This can then be the border between you and the plot neighbour. Dyu know what I mean?
rent a mulcher then you will have the mulch for your paths, another thing you could use those pallets for raised beds i cut them in half and lined the sides its working a treat
Write to a company and ask if you can promote their tools ..for example a wood chipper to make your own wood chips for your plot. Raised beds, strimmers etc. No harm trying. How about ferns and succulents around the tree stumps.
I recently acquired an allotment plot (yay!) Whilst it was in a much more manageable state than others, there was a massive pile of sticks. Some of it has been chucked in my pallet composter but most of it has been burned up in the incinerator and then put in the compost. Perhaps you could burn some of the sticks you don't want to use. Love your videos as always.
Emma, just found you videos, had a allotment for a number of years, we have a number of new people on our site. I have advised then to watch your videos especially how to clear a new plot...as they need to follow your method as it works.
You can use end on pallets for stick storage, made a hedge like fence with them, or just 4 stakes (in sets of 2) put into the ground- then stack sticks between longways - between maybe 5-7 sticks wide and as tall as the in ground stakes will hold. Those options I think would take up the least a amount of space. It looks incredible, really !!!! You should be so proud! And it's really been such a fast transformation!!! Let yourself rest properly though - they say it can be an important part of reducing risk of long haul. Well wishes for a speedy full recovery for everyone in your family. 💜💞🙏💞💜
scatter grouping the bulbs is genius why didn't I think of that lol scattering alone looks a bit crap they always look really sparse unless you have thousands of bulbs
Hi Emma, my garden planner arrived. My daughter and I are here in Colorado, U.S A..not too much gardening, so plenty of time for planning, we love our planners.youre getting us on the right path.love Einstein too
Hope you’re feeling better. You even look good in your gardening attire, you pretty little petal! … dont work too hard a wear yourself out. Thanks for sharing Emma!
Fabulous vlog Emma thank you , what a great idea for sowing the spring bulbs, I've just been allocated my new allotment plot and going to get some spring bulbs in at the weekend , You're such a inspiration to me x 😊
Emma you are doing so well, you've made so much progress. I've got a large and in parts very overgrown garden and inspired by you I've been getting out there, sometimes for a spare half an hour, part of my reticence is not knowing how to do things and not knowing the correct way or making a mistake but you've shown me to just dive on in and wing it - how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Well done honey you are doing this and so am I 👏👏👏thank you x
Bury all the sticks ect y dont want emma Im not saying just bury rubbish But any thing rots will make compost and br great for yhe soil I planted lots of twigs ect it so good
That's definitely a robbin worm, they pray on Robbins by giving em belly ache. Hope you were just joking when you covered it up because otherwise Einstein is toast lol. On the positive side he can't force you to find him worms if he has been eaten by a robbin worm haha
The plots are looking good. You will be in a good position in the spring. We are supposed to have our plots put to bed for the winter by December 4th. Well, I have been away for a week and dealing with health issues, too, so I don’t think I will be done by then. I still have to get garlic and spring bulbs planted! 😮
@@lisaberry7535 the community garden I am in is run by a city program. There are rules listed in our yearly rental agreement, including when we need to have our plots cleaned up for the winter.

I was thinking the same thing and perhaps prune the top down a little? 😊
Great idea
Put a bit of rubber so the rope doesn’t rub on the trees.
Really good idea, I could do that for one of mine thanks x
My favorite part of this video was when you were spreading the bulbs! Your happiness was contagious!
You have a really dry sense of humour and I love it, you make me laugh every time. Always cheer me up these videos.
Emma you are working so hard to get your second plot together so proud of you 😊 Love your videos keep them coming ❤
You crack me up. I love your music choices when you’re doing something funny. 😂

Hello Emma, I love your smile and whack it in attitude. I would agree you are a hard worker and I would pick you as a co worker in the garden anytime.
Emma, I am glad you are feeling better. with that tree that is flopping over, maybe it could be tied with a rope to another tree next to it to prop it up. It might last longer than the stick.
You could cut your sticks shorter and push them into the pallet stack to create a wildlife hotel! Love the videos 👍😊
Yes: frittilaria! Excellent. They’ll do well in partial shade 😊 and are gorgeous!

Hi Emma, you should hire a chipper and make your own wood chip out of all the sticks and twigs 😊
You are doing so well and making great headway, quite impressive as the weather isn't helping.
Emma your doing a fantastic job,the work you have put in and on your own is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ❤
Good to see you back there!

Glad you are feeling better. Take Care, Be Well...................>
Missed you on Friday and today. Hoping your son is not worse.
The tree that's bent over is searching for light, it looks like the larger trees are shading it and may have blown over before the roots took
Hope your better soon Emma glad you have recovered from covid quickly.😊
Looking good Emma you have come on so much brilliant
Hi Emma look like your feeling a whole lot better
scatter grouping the bulbs is genius why didn't I think of that lol scattering alone looks a bit crap they always look really sparse unless you have thousands of bulbs
Your method of Covid recovery is great. Lots of deep breathing of cold moist air. Cough everything out.

MUSHROOM LOGS!!!!!
Could you hire a wood chipper machine to shred all sticks and use it to use pathways Emma ? Pity council wont help with the bigger jobs for you.😕
I wood cut the tree back a bit.
You’re going to have to break those sticks up and burn them. It will help you keep warm as it gets colder.

Easier to completely clear a plot so you can properly access what you have before creating the best overall plan.
How about making a dead hedge fence with the sticks?
Emma when will your garden planner be back in stock ?
Burn all the sticks wood and brambles
Biggest worm ive ever seen 😳
Just cut the fecking tree it will be fine😊
