_Nice hotel Kelly...Was there last November...Did you find that the hotel is a little dated and the people staying there were of a certain vintage. Overall a nice & popular place to stay..I also found the staff very helpful. It reminded me of hotels in Ireland in the 60's. I had a San Miguel beer in the bar one night. Had to give it back it tasted awful. Certainly not the same San Miguel that I got up the town_
Hi Michael so sorry I've just seen your message, I think you might be the 5th person I've had to apologise to early hours this morning (01.45am) I was working on some videos and came across all these messages that I hadn't answered. I'll have to look back, but I think we might have been there the same November. Yes the Hotel is dated, although when I was there last they were refurbishing the rooms, I hope they give the whole hotel an overhaul as it does need it. I like it there because it's at (what I call) the beginning of the strip and the first time I stayed there (many years ago) I thought it was a nice family hotel with evening entertainment. I stayed there again a few years later and thought yes a certain vintage (as you put it lol) my mum would really like it here, so I brought her along and now she comes along with us whenever we go, she doesn't want to stay in any other hotel even though I would like to try another *rolls eyes* but she loves the idea of excursions during the day, the evening entertainment, drinks and then going upstairs to her room, however she doesn't like it when all we want to do is stay around the pool so we take it in turns to entertain her during the day. Shame about the San Miguel, hope you found another drink to compensate :)
@@MarkandKellys I am now part of that vintage..but young at heart. God only knows when we'll get away again with this awful virus hanging around. Thank you for your reply. Incidently when we arrived at that hotel we were not impressed with the room but to be fair they offered us a choice of two more rooms ..One overlooking the sea. I found the food was excellent. I don't think the hotel has reopened since March '20 because of Covid 19.
@@sentimentaloldme Whenever we go on holiday my mum suddenly becomes a lot more active while the rest of us are the opposite 😂 When we arrived we had arranged a refurbished room with partial sea view unfortunately it wasn't what I expected compared to previous stays, they did offer us an old room with better views as they didn't have anymore refurbished ones with partial sea views (unless we upgraded), but Mark pointed out how long would we be actually in the room with which I agreed (reluctantly). I have to admit I'm not all that fussed on the food, but the rest of my party love it. Especially Mark, he loves a buffet my mum likes how there is a different theme every night and my friend always finds and enjoys what she has. I like trying different restaurants although I have two favourite Antica Trattoria Di Verona on the strip and La Cabana in Macher both great restaurants. I hadn't realised the hotel had been closed for so long, but I guess Lanzarote did have a high Covid number early last year so that would have contributed to them closing, though I hope not for good.
@@sentimentaloldme No we haven't, but I have been trying to persuade them to try Gran Canaria, but everyone always wants to go back to Lanzarote and specifically Puerto Del Carmen. I don't mind too much as we do go on other Holidays and short trips
Holy moly! So many socks with sandals going on at breakfast 🫣
Yep socks and sandals and socks and sliders are a thing, I'm not saying its the right thing, I'm just saying its a thing lol
