Larry Munson's call of that TD run by James Primus (he name was mud?) at 6:20 will always be hilarious to me. I think he was starting out saying how many yards he got, then it was his location on the field and it just sounds so scatterbrained.
STILL, One of the most Incredible seasons in NFL History, Extreme Toughness in ALL These Teams! None of These TRUE Athletes Would Ever Kneel to The FLAG🇺🇸 Or give Any less Effort to Win When They played!! This Era of Teams and Athlete's will Always be respected and Remembered!! 🇺🇸👍
@33:45 I didnt think the 49ers were going to beat the Bears, I was looking for the Bears to be considered a little dynasty. Winning two super bowls in 4yrs, but the 'Niners won
This is the version with the new edited music, do you have the one with the original music? Don’t know why NFL Films choose generic music for this re launch
Miss this type of ball. They could hit each other in anyway and no penalty. It was a rough game which is how it should stay. Theres a reason why theres millions of college players but only thousands of nfl players and only 300 players in the hall of fame. Its hard, tough, and only the really bad ass mofos made it. I was taught growing up to be tough as nails, getting crunched and knocked out playing this game. Its just football and if you can't take it then get out. I loved it, played pick up games on concrete, came home with massive cuts and gashes on my body but i thought it was fun. Now the league is more like flag football. Yes its fun to watch but was way better to watch in the 80s when they could hurt each other. I understand its rough and players get cte and other injuries but thats what they signed up for. Their getting paid millions to play a game. Id say getting 10 million or more a year is worth risking getting knocked out or injured for life. Its all in how much you love the game. Hell, you wanna pay me just a half a million dollars ill play any position on the field for any team. Im 52 but i could block on the oline or play linebacker. Used to be a wr/qb but at 52 i cant run like that no more. Can still throw a pretty pass though lol. Id wash the guys shoelaces fo 100 grand s year if they let me. Id do anything to be on that sideline helping the team in anyway i can. Fir 100 grand or more though lol. If they can pay the last guy on the bench half a million or more than you can afford to pay me a hundred to be a water boy or whatever. Lmao. I just love the game and my dream is to be a coach but i have no experience except playing in high school and watching games, game film, breaking it Down, and Madden hahaha
RIP Sam Wyche, Lewis Billups, Marty Schottenheimer, Bill Walsh, Buddy Ryan, Dan Reeves, Jerry Burns, Chuck Knox, Jeff Kaye, Tom Landry
All of them were NFL legendary coaches in their own rights.
Still one of my favourite “Road to the Super Bowl” episodes. Some epic hits, highlights, music and editing.

Seems like the hitting and the speed of the game increased in the 1980s. Some fierce tackling and big impacts here. Game was at it's best.
Miss this and the 90s smashmouth football
Always loves how Sam and Bill embrace at the end. Respect and love for each other. The mentor defeats the pupil.
1980s football was just as good quality as the earlier years of football if not better.
It had the raw physicality of the 60s and 70s but also modern concepts and coaching. Players were bigger, stronger and faster too.
Who’s here after the Bengals advanced to the Super Bowl in 2022? Congrats to the Bengals! The city of Cincinnati must be so proud!!

Good stuff this is a little bit before my time
One of the Bengals best seasons.
One of their best I'm sorry but it is there best season ever and it isn't even close
They should have won the superbowl. Watched it with my brothers and dad when I was 18. Best era for the nfl

13:58 One of the greatest revenge stories in sports ever.
Classic pleats at 53:50.

Only Joe Montane can win championships? I believe Steve Young would beg to differ!

I like that song at 07:34
Whats the name of the song starting at 1:59
If the Eagles beat the Bears in the fog bowl, quite possibly the Eagles take care of SF as well. One can always dream.
Maybe. If it was bad weather, SF wouldn't be able to run on Iggles. SF had a nasty D too though.
Nah. 49ers were on a mission in the playoffs. Eagles wouldn't have scored enough
When QB’s had to be men and technicians, not just technicians.
Spoiler Alert: The Jets Flatter To Deceive
Who is the narrator?
