Such an overlooked and very charismatic actor as well as voice actor. Something about Simon Templeman's presence in something gives it an extra special kick. Really wish he had more voice work because Simon Templeman really deserves to be voicing more.
He is THE fucking best. Unquestionably. His speech as Loghain, defending himself to the Landsmeet is probably the most epic, rousing speech I've ever heard in my life - and he was mostly a villain in the game. Just fucking phenomenal.
If all he did was Legacy of Kain then he'd still deserve all the praise. That series was legendary.
His performance for Doctor Doom was pitch perfect.
Simon is the only person who can talk about cheese and make me think he has a grand scheme to overthrow Gods and challenge fate by using it.
Death walks into the arena.
Simon: "Raziel?"
Death: "Who?"
Simon: "Sorry, you... just looked a lot like someone I knew..."
Simon: "That damn coin...finally landed on it's edge"

I hear Kain whenever he talks...That's how well he voiced him.
I grew up playing LoK, safe to say it was Simon Templeman who inspired me to strive to understand English language and culture on a deeper level than just a compulsory foreign tongue I had to learn. And he is a great guy on top of that!

I'll never forget his guest appearance on Angel and hear his voice. Legacy of Kain is one of my favorite series of games.

Quite underrated voice actor although had a good amount of respectable roles in villainry over the years, in my own frail painted world of reality wish he had more or higher stepping stones of grandiloquency to further his agenda of success.
While Square Enix are being ignorant and hamper great potential I've taken my own, perhaps seemingly worthless, attempt to make way of change in their distractions in order to feed this bare flimmer of franchise. I will spark an interest.
Ohem1 After reading this, all I can say is that your elocuence could be compared with that of Simon.I even read it with his voice .
What an iconic voice, its like Kain is here with us in the flesh. LOK was simply a masterpiece and Templeman man made the story a true legend.
The most brilliant living voice actor, surpassed only by the late great Tony Jay. I mean, the man is physically unable to perform poorly.

With age he gets better and better. How I miss the series....and that majestic voice.
I know what you mean, but there’s hope. The trademark is updated judging from EU trademark database, Soul Reaver on Steam can no longer be purchased along with an intriguing message. Then there’s th alleged leak from last year about a Remake of SR, being Soulsesque.
It was claimed to be shown at Summer Game Fest this year but that didn’t happen, but Sony has yet to reveal their games. And given the BO and SR debuted on PS I wouldn’t be surprised about its return supported by Sony.
@@Ohem1 I hope they revive the franchise and I hope Mr. Templeman returns with it. Such a powerful performance is what gives our favorite Vampire its charm. It wouldn't be the same without him.

After Kain restores Nosgoth, he decided to be an actor and potrayed all these different characters on the video.
Ah. You left out his guest appearance on Charmed as an Angel of Death. I loved that one.

A video game franchise like Dragon Age has designed one of its characters (Logain) nearly facially resembling him as if the character was tailor / customed made just for him, proving how well talented, highly respected and among the most sought voice and character actor Simon Templeman is.

Simon Templeman in Mass Effect series is epic. But there should have a character in the that talked about changing fate - Like the whole series is based around!
Everytime I hear Mr Templeman talk, I imagine that instead of whatever character he is playing, it's Kain istead haha.
My favorite voice actor, I love his voice. I wish I could replicate his voice, I would have more luck getting laid :)

Literally any time I hear a character voiced by Templeman in a game I immediately know he's going to betray me.

Glad to find this, I was at college with Simon, a long time ago. You might try finding his appearances in Northern Exposure, which is of course a totally different genre and well over 20 years ago now, I just had a quick look but no luck so far.
What was he like?
@@nordinreecendo512 One of the group of students, a very nice guy, enjoyed a laugh, but took his work seriously, and at 17 he was already a very good actor, I don't think there was much doubt about what he was going to do. And it's obviously worked out, which is great ! Equally glad that I didn't go for it, as I was a long way below his level !
@@timsan55 As an artist, I've learned how unwise it is to compare ourselves to those who are better at something. I'm sure you'd have gotten there some day.
@@nordinreecendo512 Thanks for the kind words, I did enjoy being in good amateur and semi - pro drama for many years, so I had a fair run at it. But Simon was one of those actors who could really hold an audience even when a teenager. I also remember he drove a Mini Minor, which had been fitted with a 10 " steering wheel. Very cool in those days !
@@timsan55 I doubt this is the case, but have you ever spoken to him personally after you two graduated? I don't know how close you two were, whether you were friends or merely acquaintances, but I'm curious nonetheless. Simon is absolutely one of my favorite voice actors, and I have quite a passion for much of his work.

I've always thought that there was a marked difference between his voice in Blood Omen 1 and in those later games.

You know when actors are good if you appreciate their skills as little 8yo shit playing games. I fell in love with Blood Omen 2 and after completing the game with all others from the series. Great actor, amazing voice. Thank you!
