Hi Megan, put a brick or something at bottom of your black planter to raise up the purple mums by your front door. Where did you get the purple mums?? They are beautiful!
For the mums- just put something in the bottom of the planter to lift them up. Anything you have that you don’t use will work- paint cans, rocks, anything heavy that can sit on the mum will work!
We had rain & storms for 6 days straight. It definitely delayed things for us, we usually like to start Halloween decorating Oct. 1st, but we’re thankful it wasn’t worse & there was no damage or anything.

TIP... If you want a glow in the dark skeleton, just spray paint the one you already have. It's much cheaper to buy a can of glow in the dark spray paint than buy a large glow skellie. If you need to weather proof it more, get a matte finish, clear, outdoor Rust-Oleum spray, For a top coat. You can customize your existing skeleton color also.😊 For the skull in the skeleton hand, an easy way to get it to light up, is to carve a small hole in the top and insert a sun rechargeable walkway light, in the head. ( if you get sunlight under the overhang.)

Make sure you check thrift stores for halloween decor becuz I work for Salvation Army and we get a lot donated to us. Looks great though I love it. I used to do a huge halloween display when my son was young but once he stopped trick or treating I stopped decorating.

Those colorful leaf plants are called crotons (crow tons). They grow well in Florida.
