  • If you want to live healed and free from your heart in all things, you'll have to face pride at various stages of your journey. We often call out pride in others, but we are slow to call out pride in ourselves.
But the quicker we can identify where pride is blocking or stunting our growth, the more effective our heart journey will be. When you dive into living heart healthy, you will bump up against areas of pride in your life that seek to prevent you from growing. They create lids against your growth.
Pride involves re walls of self-protection and self-preservation, where we keep ourselves from letting anyone see our weakness, brokenness, sins and flaws. Humility is not rejecting yourself. It's recognizing your need for God, for healing and for continual growth.
True humility creates an invitation for others to engage a real and authentic journey with God and others. Pride or humility will show up in moments where there is an opportunity for vulnerability.
In moments where you have a change to exchange authentically and vulnerability, pride or humility will show up.
In this video, I will speak to the issue of pride and reveal six statements we say that actually reveal that pride may be at work.

I now understand why prayerlessness is pride in work and not a posture of humility 💛

    Pride: Self-protection
    Self-preservation
    Defensiveness
    Stubbornness
*Humility* : God's highway of transformation
Humility is lowering yourself under the God
*Depending not on ourself but on God*
Being vulnerable to God regarding our weakness and flaws

This video really helped me a lot. I got called egotistical in a step based recovery and several church groups and took it to heart and spun. This was in reaction to my career and accomplishments. I felt guilty for having accomplishments and confidence. I thought because I prayed for it and I career coach people and teach skills, this was a calling from God and not pride. Thank for this video because now I see I was probably presenting myself and coming off as a braggart. I like at the end where you give clear criterion for symptoms of pride and examples, and I like the analogy of 'wearing' humility. This cleared up some of my confusion as to whether I'm having pride or just being accidentally inconsiderate.

That's really good that u can self reflect and make necessary improvements. Very commendable. Remember it's faith and grace that sets us free, meaning we aren't perfect and God's grace is sufficient. I encourage you to read the book of Romans, that's been very healing and insightful for me, as It seems to relieve pressure that I may have felt to not sin or do anything that could come off un chirst like (if you will). God is good and the peace that we can receive from understanding that we are saved by his grace is priceless. Although it doesn't mean that we shouldn't be aware of our actions, just means if we make a mistake, the love and salvation of the Most High is with us. Peace and God bless!
