Hello everyone, thank you for tuning in for another round of Ash Vs The Evil Wed to slay those hump day horrors! As with the previous episodes, let me know what you'd like to see more of, what you enjoyed, what you didn't enjoy, what topic you want to see covered next - hell, even what you had for breakfast - in the comments below. But mostly the topic part since this series thrives on your wonderful input. One shiny shoutout could have YOUR name on it for the low low price of one great suggestion! Exciting!
Again, thank you all for taking part, and I'll see you next week at 3:00PM GMT sharp 🔪✨
Peace and love, blood and guts, Ash xxx
Love you Ash
Ash you are awesome! I had a thought for a video about movies so predictable that you would swear there was a twist coming
10 people who survived horror movies out of dumb luck as the next one as an exact reverse to this video
Love you, Ash!!
And how about top 10 horror villains we sort of wanted to win?
You should make a list of slasher villains whose body count is way higher than it should be. Example Chucky. His body count is way too high for a 2 1/2 ft plastic doll.
Do the dumb thing... somehow survived...
Do the smart thing... somehow died...
It’s getting to the point where I should just stop questioning movie logic...
Same shit can happen irl. I did dumb things what worked out and smart things that somehow failed XD
I think the rule nowadays is to just wing it lmao you got a 50/50 shot
@@wendigoblin
And all I need is my lucky coin
Just insert plot armor into that logic and everything would absolutely make sense
...you mean you didn't always question it?
Trust me. You can do everything right and still get screwed.
Such is life.
Sing it Sinatra.. "that's life!" lol and cry. 😂
L.I.F.E 😩
If i was in saw I'd just give up I wouldn't want to live id just die....anyone else?
Death Road to Canada in a nutshell
Even if you make a smart move, one must remember they are still in a horror movie, so they're pretty much screwed no matter what.
And the video game version is as follows: "One must remember they are still in a Horror Game, so their only hope for survival is whether or not the player is good at Quick Time Events."
Unless it is the "Cube" where the dumbest person survives [I know, not very PC of me]
NO ESCAPE
True, but at least it'd be more entertaining and less predictable when/if the characters death occurs. As it is, most times you can predict who's going to die when just by the stupid decisions, that gets old and boring after a while.
unless you are a good looking lead character, in which your survival and booming relationship with another good looking character is all but guaranteed, at the cost of the black and brave friend who always seems to die first
Final destination movies were smart choices, since they avoided their accidents, yet still died after
You’re so right wow
Oh God that's a good point
OKay, you covered the smartest, what about the dumbest move that amazingly worked
Timber Wulff your idea was made if you didn’t know 2 days ago
Right🥴
Tripping over the fresh air
Timber Wulff umm can it be a show if so the walking dead first season when they took the chance in covering themselves I mean how do you know
Cabin in the woods would easily work for this list 🙂
What about "The mist" feeling the doom happing, that they weren't gonna survive so he killed his son, new love interest and 2 elderly (I believe, can be wrong but defo son) with a painless death with a gun, run out of bullets. Then walks out to hopefully die by the alien/monsters things but to then have the mist cleared seconds later and military saving people 🤷♀️
That would suck to go through ngl
THANK YOU! Saved me the work!
Saddest ending in horror movie history
I don't think suicide is smart
@@dreadedly The significance of this "intelligent" decision comes from a scene prior to the suicide one, where the father swears to the boy that he "Won't let the monsters get him." They had spent two days fighting miniature versions of titan-sized creatures just outside the car where they die. The father KNEW they stood no chance, and was trying to be merciful in his final moments.
10:59 "His daughter Ashley - no relation..."
Red hair and a propensity for violence. Yeah, sure. _Totally_ not you.
DEFINITELY not. Absolutely not. No relation whatsoever.
Was that Lobo the bounty hunter behind her?
exactly my thoughts
What about 10 horror movie decisions that saved the protagonist, but doomed everybody else.
Yes! Like Circle!
Ehat other movies do this. I can only think of the last final destination
Do what you suggested. I'd love to see "Top ten characters who threw others under the bus."
Preferably with Burke from Aliens at the top.
Saw has entered the chat
That dickhead in Train to Busan: Allow me to introduce myself
@@JackNick2000 Yes. I hated that ahole and I wasn't satisfied with his end.
@@themediocrehunter4152 hahaha yes
When I saw The Invisible Man, the movie was amazing, though slightly predictable (that’s not a bad thing in any way, just an observation) but the sister’s death just came out of left field and surprised me.
I saw the one with Chevy Chase, that particular one didn't seem like a horror film at all lol 🤣
The one scene that wasn't spoiled in the trailers
Not hard to see things coming or suspect a twist. When we've seen everything....
They spoiled that he was useing a suit in the trailers for the Invisible Man.
@I drink your milkshake yes it did. She threw paint on him and you can clearly see that it's a suit making him invisible.
She did actually need the gas mask in 10 Cloverfield lane. The aliens used poison gas towards the end. Good video tho👍🏻👍🏻
“it is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. that is not a weakness; that is life.” - star trek: next generation.
I think "Truth or Dare" is an underrated movie. I love how she claims that she would sacrifice her friends to save millions of people when she is asked at the beginning, and then she does the exact opposite at the end.
You should do a “Top 10 Most Dangerous Ordinary People Who are More Deadly then the Monsters”!!!
You mean like, if John Wick was a horror movie? The *monster* would run from *him.* 😀
I like that! There's plenty of horrible humans more horrifying than monsters in these movies, that's for sure
@@ash.millman Hi Ash - please let me copy and paste a comment I have literally just written in here. Guess I should have read the existing comments first. Here's the full comment, which also appears on a separate thread elsewhere.
Ash, hope I'm quick enough for this to be seen and considered for an Ash Wednesday. (You know what I mean). 'Films with monsters in, but where the TRUE monsters are human beings all along'. I can think of Nightbreed, and pretty much the entire Hellraiser saga, especially films 1 (Julia) and 2 (Also Julia, but note that Pinhead leaves Tiffany alone, despite the fact that she opened the box, as she didn't WANT it opened). There are probably a lot more than eight other examples of this.
In other words, I agree with Andre Partridge and yourself that this is a good idea.
Lol the girl from Dawn of the dead (the newer version)...she makes sure everyone dies.
Hello, Andre, want to play a game?
"if characters were smart there would be no movie"
yeah, no.
Strange mostly characters end up being killed by just staying still, running too slow, tripping on something that wasn't there, or not keeping yourself quiet when hiding from the killer
Should do "Best Misdirection/Red Herrings in horror movies."
I love this!
Thats great one
Great idea!
Audition MUST be in there, as the entire film hinges upon it.
The Girl on the Train just tricked me real good so that one too!
What no The Thing, i mean blowing up the entire base to stop it from reaching the outside world while simultaneously dooming the surviving team members to hypothermic death, is smart and fatal.
Depends on whether you consider the game as canon though. MacReady is alive in that, so I've heard.
@@GoochTaylor Or the comics, where both sort of survive.
The blood test was also ingenious
EDEN LAKE: central heroine succeeds and regrettably kills a couple of the teen antagonists who were violently pursuing her & her husband throughout the movie in a forest. But when she escapes the forest and jacks a van to drive herself away to freedom she stops at the first house she sees for help only to find out way too late that its the home of the teen killers whose parents are all out there having a BBQ. It quickly becomes her final resting place afterwards. So fucking eerie....
Biggest Mikey I’m pretty sure she was raped and then murdered afterwards
Yep this comment is a sign for me to rewatch Eden's Lake,3rd or 4th time this week I've seen someone bring it up lol I don't rewatch it too often, that ending is just heartbreaking
Ash: Dumb decisions people survived
Also Ash: Smart decisions that got people killed
Moral: In horror survival is based on luck, and you can't save everyone!
Are we not gonna talk about how she could’ve just tipped the big jar of acid from the bottom slightly and poured the majority of it out so she’d essentially only burn her fingers when fishing out the key? 💁♀️
Elliebibble But........the trap was fucked anyway, Soooooooo
Wouldn't have mattered since the trap was inescapable
Unfortunately the trap was still in her ribs so even if she did get the key, she’s still have to try to get the trap open
Sorry if i came off rude or sarcastic, that was not my intention. That was just my take on it after watching the movie over and over lol 😂😂
I thought that too, although if she tipper it too much the key could fall out
Top 10 Fridge Horror Endings (aka where they show that something fucked up happened or the villains won but you don't notice until thinking about it)
Was thinking more along the lines of The Refrigerator at first but that makes more sense
What would be your example of this?
@@lynnevetter The Thing?
Mm this might be kinda hard esp if it’s not canon, I can already see all the nitpicking in the comments
@@JxKITCH good example :)
“10 smartest decisions...”
Oh that’s nice. Finally done iq In movies
“(Still got rekt)”
😬
*Do you hear that?* You can hear the dumb people that survived laughing.
Actually in 10 Cloverfield she DID end up needing the HAZMAT suit when the aliens used a second gas attack
me: reads the title
me: smart horror movie choices? never heard of em'.
nice pfp :)
To quote Eddie Izzard: "All the victims in these films had their common sense gland removed."
At least these characters at least *tried* to survive (also it's not a horror game where a character died due to someone missing a QTE).
you can have a good idea. that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to work. there's always something.....
Jedi Spartan 38 They've also managed to go camping in The Forest of Blood and Death, armed only with a flashlight and a thimble. "Oh, it's you! We weren't sure if it was a serial killer or a badger." 😀 *FWOOMPH!* (victim is bisected from skull to crotch) 💀
It's the thought that counts, hey? Even if it does turn out to be a particularly stupid one in the end!
Cake or death?
Haha I’m smart!
“Here is your reward for breaking annoying stereotypes.”
“What?” (Excitement obvious)
“This”

“Yaaaay”
Lol is that from that one movie where the two girls torture their friends from college?
"10 Victims Who Ultimately Show They Are Anything But"
"10 Misunderstood Monsters Who Would Be Harmless But For A Trail Of Circumstances"
Honestly I think horror movies with characters that make all the smart choices and yet still die are honestly the scariest because it shows that its genuinely futile

Love the content Ash keep it up. How about a list of times it turned out to all be a dream?
A Nightmare On Elm street for every entry!
@@ash.millman How about a different list. Times food was used to scare you. ex. "Soul Pizza" from Elm, or the vegetable Gremlin, Killer Tomatoes etc.
How about: Top 10 funniest scenes in horror movies. You could even do two lists, with one being intentionally funny and the other being unintentionally. Keep up the great series!
I feel like having the main character in Final Destination 2 kill herself and having a doctor revive her counts cause she may or may not die some time during/before Final Destination 3
the call will forever give me chills, and the jumps no matter how many times I watch it
Your profile photo is so funny
Ash, can we see the top ten best horror movies without any scares?
Movies like THE SKIN I'M IN, where it's undeniably horror, but doesn't have any of your basic horror tropes, or any jump scares, etc.
ALIEN 1979. Ripley alone in the shuttle with the Alien decides to put on a space suit and strap herself into a chair. She increased the PSI in the room and lures the Alien towards her then she opens the doors, zapping the Alien into outer space. YOU GO GIRL!
"Ash vs. The Evil Wed" makes me think that you've discovered a cursed church where every wedding imbues the couples with latent demons which will manifest with some cosmic evil event and turn them into killing duos. You're the only one who knows of them and is trying to hunt them all down and either exorcise or kill before the cosmic alignment. LOL.
sounds like doom the first doooom

I appreciate the other presenters, too, but for Ash to also write her own stuff makes it that much better!

"Top 10 Harmless Things You're Now Scared of Thanks to Horror Movies."
The Number 180, Dolls, Falling Asleep, etc.
Driving thanks to Final Destination 😵
@@ash.millman The Final Destination franchise just claims the list, tbh.
What’s the number 180
@@ash.millman driving is absolutely not harmless though. We just have a blind spot to the danger because we'd all freak out if we constantly thought about it and most of us don't know how to ride a horse. Stuff like Final Destination is so effective because it makes us think about it. Every time I drop anything onto the driver's side mat when I'm driving I think about the water bottle caught under the brakes. ...Nearly 1.25 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day. An additional 20-50 million are injured or disabled. More than half of all road traffic deaths occur among young adults ages 15-44.(Association for Safe International Road Travel)

I may just have to start binge watching all of your videos. I needed another horror channel to watch.
Just had an argument about the topic, so: HORROR FILMS WITH A GOOD REASON BEHIND NUDITY. If less than 10, less than 10.
Psycho. Yes, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Yes, there was nudity in it. It's blurry, but you can barely see it. Norman was watching the girl, triggered his mother's side, and killed her when she was most vulnerable. The reason why it was in there was it was the trigger for his mental issues.
@@Supperdude9 and also she was taking a shower, not just randomly wandering around nude or half dressed.
Another movie that could be in this is in the tall grass when the pregnant lady’s brother sacrificed himself to keep everybody else alive when everybody else ended up dying at least 10 more times and only three people actually survived
(Idk for sure if this rlly counts but I think it was a good move even if It didn’t keep everybody alive)
Oh so this is why horror movie characters never make smart decisions
These type of movie moves that still get people killed are part of my nightmares! I'm a thinker and have always came up with important survival mode. First-always put on sneakers!!
Ash, hope I'm quick enough for this to be seen and considered for an Ash Wednesday. (You know what I mean).

Lee Fisher yes this would be a good one
Is it just me.. or does Ash look incredible this week..? Keep it up love.. you rock. Favorite of all WhatCulture..
In 10 Cloverfield Lane their were moments were the gas mask did come in handy. When the alien 👽 spaceship launches poison gas

How about a list of "10 movies that you didn't know were horror films until you watched them"
I knew nothing about Maze Runner until I watched the first. Didn't know there were spider robots, so good surprise to see horror elements in there and didn't expect (basically) zombies in the sequel.
Any other films that weren't marketed as horror films, but turned out to have some scares after all? I like to find those gems that dip into a genre I didn't expect.

Hey ash, top10 final girls in horror movie or something along those lines
My short list of the smartest things to do in a horror movie:
#1. Do not befriend a little boy who says he sees ghost.
#2. Simply do not go into a house that the previous family died in.
#3. Do not enter a home if the electricity is not working.
#4. Be nice to all the old women in your town. Do not go to their home, but be nice when you see them out and about.
#5. Probably the most important rule - if you find old videos, pictures, dolls or newspaper articles about a person or people who died mysteriously, please do not investigate.
Ash vs evil Wednesday is funny reference. Hehe

Add this to one of the smartest decisions
In Michelle's defense in 10 Cloverfield Lane, did she _really_ have proof that she didn't need the suit? Was there ever a time when she could have checked the atmosphere outside? A smart move based on limited information doesn't automatically become a stupid one just because you learn later that you didn't need to do it.
In Bird Box why couldn’t they just make everyone blind? The monsters only kill you if you see them. Blindness is the answer people!
