- Does anyone, and I mean anyone, do signature guitars like Music Man do signature guitars? Their commitment to giving the artist what they want in a guitar is second to none, but even the more outlandish designs (like the supercar-inspired Majesty, hyper-futurist Kaizen and the more-pickups-than-thou switching madness of the Morse) are still beautiful, practical and immensely playable. They just seem to get it right every time, and the Rabea Massaad Artist Series Sabre is no exception. Nick Jennison reviews the all new Music Man Rabea Massaad Artist Series ‘BEA’ Sabre

Lovely looking guitar
Been waiting for this one
why the neck on vileblood is not maple birdseye T_T
Why is it satin finish T.T
YOU'RE PLAYING IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME, AS ALWAYS! I've never met a music man I didn't like!!!!!!!!!! They are ALL ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! THEY'RE THE FERRARIS AND LAMBORGHINIS OF GUITARS!!!!!!!!!! I still don't know why, however, that 24 frets is not the standard!!!!!!!!!!
Rabea doesnt use 24 frets, he explains it in one of his namm interviews
@@anthonyjacukowicz8456 no, I didn't mean that about HIM, personally... I just mean as a general standard construction. Once you go from 21 to 22 frets, you don't want to go back! Going to 24... Also, no going back! Kind of goes back to the old saying "better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it!"
Does the neck feel like it's that much bigger than the standard Sabre? If you like the neck on the standard and ordered this one, would you still be happy with it, or is it that much of a difference that you could not like it?
I've had this guitar for 3 days and the first thing that threw me off was how fat the neck is, I was actually worried about hating it and thought I made a big mistake. That being said after a few hours of getting used to it I can't put the thing down and for certain can say it's the best and most versatile guitar I've owned.
@@chriserb3996 Sorry if this is me being thick but when you say the neck is fat, do you mean it's chunky underneath, so more wood to wrap your left palm around, or do you mean it's wide, and the strings are spaced out a bit further out vs a narrower neck? I'm thinking of getting Rabea model - i played standard Sabre and it didn't feel that 'chunky', but it did feel 'wide'. I'm used to playing a Music Man Axis which has a super 'narrow' (whatever opposite of 'wide' is!) neck.
@@florian-pingu More wood to wrap your palm around, kinda like a 50's Tele and the string spacing is very neutral. It's still super comfortable and easy to play. I've also owned a Silhouette and Luke 3 which have similar necks to the Axis and after adjusting to this neck, I love it. Oddly enough my wrist doesn't seem to have a lot of strain with this neck and find myself being able to play for longer as well.
@@chriserb3996 Good info, thanks! Think I'll give one a go. How does it feel weight wise? I've read it's 8lbs on spec sheets but other outlets have said it's closer to 7lbs.
@@florian-pingu mine is just above 8lbs, on the heavy side but still comfortable enough to play live.
I am here to show support and enjoy Nick's playing. That said, I have to point out that the Ball family starved George Fullerton and Leo Fender out of Music Man such that said duo went on to create G&L Guitars: the 4+2 headstock, two-point vibrato bridge, and the Sabre model predate the Ball family. More recently, EBMM's "Game Changer" was taken without consent from PMT's Guitar Max system.
