    Hi Drea! Thanks for creating a very informative guide. I also watched the second series. I just have a question..
    Do you need to be a DPT first before you can take NPTE? TIA :)

      @dreaenrera3557  6 місяців тому

      Hi Trish! Thank you for watching. For DPT, it was supposed to be required for 2020 but because of the pandemic, they are delaying it even until now. So currently, as far as i know, employers do not require it but it is preferred. But when we did our credentials evaluation, our credits in college were deemed "doctorate level". So I think for the exam, you just have to follow to minimum credit requirement for the state you choose which is different state to state. Hope that helps

    Hello ma’am Drea! I would like to ask how you proceeded with the online application for Texas. I have already submitted a letter of no SSN thru email (it is written in the form that it can be sent thru email). However, information such as SSN and driver’s license in the US are being asked in the application. How were you able to proceed with it? Sorry I had to ask you. I’ve already sent a few emails to the Texas board for inquiries, but they aren’t responding :(
    Thank you!

    Very Informative Video! I will be getting Masters in Physiotherapy degree from a UK university this year. I am interested in applying to US as an International Physiotherapist. Could you please let me know that whether FCCPT would consider my education in UK as equivalent to US Physiotherapist/Degree or not? If I apply in New York State do you think they will consider it as an equivalent or they might ask me to take additional courses? Plz let me know......

    • @dreaenrera3557
      @dreaenrera3557  5 місяців тому

      Hi, unfortunately I cannot give you a direct answer for this. It will really depend on the evaluator. Im also not familiar with the UK curriculum if they are similar to the US curriculum just like our schools here in the Philippines. But what I do know is PT graduates from my school are considered on par with UK Physiotherapy degree. Also, I highly suggest to find someone with the same curriculum as yours who did FCCPT before doing the evaluation. This will prevent you from doing the evaluation again, saving you money. Hope that helps!

    • @dreaenrera3557

      Hi! It actually depends on which state you apply for. There are some states that require you to be licensed in your home country like Texas. While there are also other states that don’t. Don’t hold me against this,but I think I have friends who applied for New York that did not take the local board exam. Soooo make sure you research on you state of choice. I hope that helps!

      @@dummy03only33 Hi, for our batch and the curriculum we graduated, it was kinda enough for us to be considered as equal to entry level PT in the US bcuz we did take additional post-grad subjects to increase our credits. Buttt I’m not super if it was bcuz of the pandemic that the DPT requirement was waved. Butt in our 2022 credentialing document, it stated we were “doctorate” level. We were lucky enough we had batchmates who did the process b4 us so we already knew we did not need the DPT. I hope that helps!

      @@ronkevin8749 Hi, yes there are a few actually but with a price. The safest way is thru DIY and research along w/ your batchmates, which is what we did. And easiest will be with an agency since they do everything for you, some even pay for it and you pay them back when you are in the US. But the safest way where you have 100% control will be to do it DIY and tons of research! and yes it is super overwhelming and scary to decide everything on your own but its a lot scary when people from an agency who you dont know choose your future for you. So take your time, you are so young so do a lot of research on what u want, decide properly and then start the process. And gain experience too(the most important)! But to start, factspt.org is a good one. Its an international agency that you can your start research. Fsbpt website, youtube is one to start too.

      @@HersheyTugenio Hi, I had the 5 yr curriculum(2019 graduate). The credentials are always based on APTA’s current requirement or their coursework tools for foreign educated PTs. They’ve updated it a few times to cater to their US standard over the years. Currently the standard is CWT6 or doctorate level. Most curriculum in PT schools have catered to this standard. Luckily ours did too. I wasn’t able to take some of the summer subjects that my school offered during my college days to cater to CWT6. So the subject that I wasnt able to take were the subjects I took post-grad. Fortunately also, I had classmates who did the credentialing process on the same state successfully before we did ours so I just asked them what extra subjects they took.
