Claire Forlani has been derided as a one-dimensional actress with not much beyond her in-character, demure feminine “simping” role. Well she played that role masterfully here, arguably with equal or greater depth than Brad Pitt’s easy charm. Please go watch Ms. Forlani in other movie roles to see just how good she really is.
That was the only part of the movie that's always bothered me. They walk over the bridge, and minutes later Susan see's coffee-shop-guy walk back towards her. She speaks of her father in the past tense "I wish you could have met my father", meaning she knows he's dead.... no tears, no devastation... just goes on flirting.... Poor sister Allison is about to have the party , that she's worked so hard for, completely ruined when someone finally discovers dad's body and screams.
@@tipigi3570 this is a movie. And the ending is open. We can assume that her sister will understand and accept the fact. No one wants to see their family gone. But nobody can prevent the death. Her father is old and after settling his work which he had worked for all his life, its time to go right?
Plus that the movie is fictional. So there’s another way to discover “the body” and nobody needs to scream. Say Susan takes her father’s body to a well-prepared place and then explains to her family later. Once again it’s open ending and you can enjoy it the way you want
Well obviously the father had a heart attack or heart failure during the fireworks display. His spirit leaves his body and he meets death in the form of beautiful Brad Pitt. His spirit walks away to the afterlife with him. In reality, his lifeless body would be there surrounded by family and friends to be taken care of.
