If you've made it this far in the description, remember to be safe when creature adventuring! Most wild animals can cause injury if harassed, and I do not recommend attempting to capture any creatures without purpose and practice. The reason that I interact with wildlife is to produce these educational videos, and I am confident in my abilities to handle creatures such as a marbled salamander because I have years of zoology experience under my belt. Also, I always ask permission from a land owner before exploring on their property, and you should do the same.
Keep adventuring everywhere, and keep your adventures safe at all times!

Hello, animal adventurers! Thanks for checking out today's episode of The Wild Report. Last week, the marbled salamander episode got more votes from you than the crayfish, so you can expect a video on those little crustaceans coming next Saturday.
As summer draws nearer and I finish up my AP exams, I'll have much more time to explore and edit my videos. I look forward to seeing how you guys like these upcoming episodes!
Let me know in the comments if there are any animals you would really like to see me film this summer. I'll do my best to make it happen!

Hey Ben, I am wondering if you can go to Florida for some videos and do a video on the Corn Snake ( Pantherophis Guttatus ) check out my video on them they are very beautiful snakes!
Awesome video! Just found 16 of these guys today!:)
I love the clip of the marbled blinking
It was so cute!
Awesome short vid of the marbled salamander!
Great video! Those salamanders are so adorable. Had no idea they needed to be moist :O
Thanks! They are definitely super cute.
We are in NC too! Found a marbled salamander yesterday under a log! I have 3 boys and we are glad we found you. My oldest was excited to hear you are in NC. He is wanting to start his own channel. Thank you for being a great inspiration and role model.
Very cool, it's always a treat to find one of these little guys. What kind of channel does your oldest son want to start?
Me and my son found a marbled one and a yellow spotted one not too far away here in Guilford county! Thanks for da vid!!
Very interesting! Learned a lot
Awesome video. We just found one here in CT near some wetlands and started researching them. Marbled Salamanders actually breed in the fall, as opposed to a lot of other species that do so in the spring. The juveniles will eat the eggs and larvae of other salamanders that breed during the spring. 😳😬 These are considered ‘Keystone Predators’
Thank you! Yeah they are really neat, especially the early breeding giving them a competitive advantage part.
First flip. Heck yeah! One of my favorite sallys. Good info Ben, enjoyed the video.
I was super excited! And thanks dude, I appreciate your support.
Love your wholesome, informed, and elaborate videos. Keep up the great work, I'm happy to support an up and coming UA-camr!
Thanks a ton Pinkie, I really appreciate your support!
Nice find Ben! Any of the larger salamanders are always a pleasure to come across! I look forward to many more great episodes from you.
Thanks guys!
Great video!
Thank you!
Nice video Ben! That was a gorgeous Marbled Salamander, I saw an Eastern Red backed but I haven’t seen any marbled!
Thanks! I love salamanders. I've actually never seen a red backed salamander here so that was a cool find!
They are gorgeous animals, but very sensitive. I always make sure that they are comfortable and nice and moist so we can keep theses beautiful animals on the planet!
Glad to hear that, it is very important that they are handled properly.
Those are very cute! Growing up we had wet lands close to us and Ibwas always exploring in the woods! Very cool Ben!
Thanks Janet, cool to hear that you also explored the wetlands!
I've been there before! And those salamanders are adorable! The woods at my house have a small creek, and tend to get a bit of rain so I've seen a few salamanders, I used to look for them when I was little :D I've never found a marbled one though!
That's awesome! The marbled salamanders are found under logs more than in creeks. Happy exploring!
Salamanders are so cool! I seem to find more of them in the piedmont than in the coastal plains, but it might just be the areas Im looking in.
I find more in the piedmont as well, but they are EVERYWHERE in the mountains by streams.
Actually A.opacum breed in the fall not spring. They lay eggs in dry Vernal ponds that fill with the fall rains. The mother will stay with the eggs till they are covered in water. Some hatch in the fall and some will hatch in the spring.
I think it depends on the location, ours seem to breed at the tail end of fall so that the eggs hatch in the winter rains!
Do we have these in the Chicago suburbs areas???
I'm not sure, you could check iNaturalist and see if there are any records from that area!
look at that goober
Such a lil' chonk
I got one in my backyard it’s a female
That was a pregnant female I think
It may have been!
