You notice how a lot of earlier anime decks were chaotic in composition? Yugi alone had Spellcasters, Fiends, Machines, Warriors, Divine-Beasts, etc…? This Shining Sarcophagus approach sounds like a great first step to uniting those all, but we need equivalents for other characters (Like Kaiba, Joey, Pegasus, Chazz, etc…)
blue eyes has basically consumed all of kaibas cards joey it depends since red eyes is seen in a way as the joey deck but i could see them making a gambler deck just for him Pegasus is easy make a toon relinquished that helps cheat out thousand eyes

Both the Yugioh anime and actual card game didn't really have archetypes then. You just threw whatever the hell you wanted in a deck because there wasn't a reason not to.
Yugi’s ceremonial deck has managed to be a fully fledged deck archetype with the Shining Sarcophagus which, as a fan of the DM anime, makes me happy to see. Thanks for explaining the deck Logs!
I find it funny how since Gold Sarcophagus in the manga negated whatever card was put in there, the final DM era duel was decided by an omni-negate. For real though, watching Yugi beat each of the gods one at a time with different strats was so hype.
It make sense why Gold Sarcophagus is an omni negate in manga/anime, since its a coffin afterall. With the meaning behind the final duel, it really make more sense than the actual card eff
They need to add the magnet warriors along with valkayron. One of their boss monsters should either be a one sided macro cosmos or one sided necro valley to symbolize those that goes to the GY needs to stay there.
I'm fine with that as long as the floodgate is locked behind actually playing the deck and cards like needing Shining Sarc on field to actually use it.
@@The_Glazer more like support and end bosses, the engine and playstyle is okay but theres just no end board other than maybe the first fusion card and the link if your lucky but your going to lakc a hand to use the negates well. The Slifer side of the deck is nice but theres not enough search power in the deck to actually get it going without throwing in the God support and Zlifer on its own is a simple floodgate to answer
There's some more subtlety to Archfiend's Advent that needs to be mentioned. It doesnt necessarily compete with Gadget Trio, but rather serves as a secondary option. If you have access to GT, you're probably always gonna prioritize that as your normal summon. But the thing is, once you've used GT, there's really no point in summoning a 2nd, and that's where AA comes in. If you've enabled all your plays thanks to GT on YOUR 1st turn, then AA is a good ns on your 2ND turn. In addition its board breaker ability is a pretty essential backup option for Gandora G. Normally Gandora is enough end your opp, but remember it destroys first, then banishes. Some decks have destruction protection, so Gandora wont work. AA's ability to steal an opponent's monster instead is an awesome backup that can also enable link plays like going into an S:P Little Knight for another banish (2 if the monster you stole with AA is an extra deck monster)🤯
Something I like about Moremarshmallon is that is another way to enable Ties That Bind as a level 4 Monster that would make your deck less reliant on normal summons, and lets you play around your Gadgets getting negated.
Just wanted to give a huge tech tip for my shining sarc players. Since recursion can be a problem with this deck, I suggest trying to make 2 slots in main deck for Gizmek Makami. It can normal summon itself without tribute if you have 6 cards banished. You can discard 1 monster and search for another monster with the same ATK and DEF (Gandora.G). Then special summon out Gandora.G and DM, Activate Gandora's effect and special summon silent magician. Trigger DM and Gizmek Makami as when Makami is destroyed it will shuffle back 6 cards from your banished pile back to the deck.Then Set secrets for the Dragoon Follow Up.
@@mostafaahmed9430 it would indeed take up the normal summon for the Gadget Boys, but you ideally want to prioritize normal summoning the Gadget Boys before Makami if at all possible. Makami can make an incredible normal summon to search out Gandora and recur your banish pile on its destruction with Gandoras effect.
Gizmek Makami is a huge brick, it's need 6 cards in your banish zone to normal summon him. If you draw him on first turn, it's really hard to summon him that way. Beside, as @mostafaahmed9430 said, it will waste 1 normal summon and conflict with the Gadget. His effect allow to search Gandora-G, but need to discard 1 card, which is not really good.
Two good (in my opinion) cards that work in helping start the Shining Sarc engine is to run a copy of Gold and Silver Gadget, which can both search out a lvl 4 Gadget monster on destruction. Which ups the number of cards in your deck that start your combo from 9 (3 Shining Sarc, 3 Gadget Trio, and 3 Future Silence) to 11.
That's a good thought. I think it may be a good side deck option. I've played the deck a lot and I've found that essentially having 9 copies of Shining Sarc has been more than enough to get the deck started and I'd typically rather use those 2 slots for non engine and handtraps
I wonder what type of support this deck could later get that makes a reference to Yugi Mutou's cards. Magnet Warrior? Buster Blader? Curse of Dragon? Blockman? The Magician Girls from DSOD ? or the Dimension cards of DSOD?
I hope konami expand on Little Yugis deck with the magnet warriors, and if DM and Summoned Skull are part of this arctype, then so should Gaia and Curse of Dragon be included later too!
The deck just needs one more quick play spell card that straight up searcher Shining Sarcophagus so the deck is less dependent on the Trio normal summon.

I love the old cards getting the love the og deserves Day 2 of asking: Can you make a series where we send you custom-made yugioh archetypes, like original cards we make and you review them if they gonna be banned, be good or be trash and maybe tell which cards will be stable or would help meta decks or which meta cards would elevate our decks.
I like how the game has made each Yugi card into its own deck, but I do wish it was easier to play the game with a varied deck. Yugi's mishmash of cards always worked for me in video games, but obviously they wouldn't be winning any tournaments in real life.
I clicked on this video because of natural curiosity. And then 2 minutes in I asked, "why the fuck am I watching this? I don't play, nor am I gonna buy these cards to play. So learming this is unnecessary, and will not improve my life at all." But I still liked the video because the duelLogs is fucking awesome.
Despite like the Extra Deck, I might try these cards whenever they hit Master Duel, if for no other reason that Dark Magician has sick artwork. Though, it makes me sad Summoned Skull's been retrained like 9 times and it still doesn't have a really good card.
Funny enough, these isn’t even the full power of the deck, they have yet to make many other cards into the shining variations, swords of revealing light, the magnet trio, the mirage traps, buster blader, even kuriboh was in there, so these archetype has a lot of room to grow

For something to be classified as an archetype, or at least an official archetype, it needs to have cards that support it by direct association such card text listing the archetype or linking the memebers together. You have a card that supports "Silent Swordsman." You have a card that supports "Silent Magician." You do not have a card that supports "Silent." Manget Warriors have "Magnetic Field," a card that denotes the archetype "Manget Warrior" in its text. Curse of Dragon is associated and is supported by "Gaia The Fierce Knight" archetpe by the fusion monsters, Galloping Gaia, and Artillery Catapult Turtle. Buster Blader is supprted directly by its self-titled archetype Buster Blader. And all of that aside, some of these monsters aren't linked to the Ceremonial Duel between Yugi and Atem/Dark Yugi. Others, like Curse of Dragon, aren't even in either of their decks after Duelist Kingdom.

I only watched this video to see what strategies I can do but the moment he mentioned Dark Dragoon I immediately threw the entire video out the window. Not my fault that card is still banned in master duel. I guess I will just have to get creative on what card to fuse the Dark Magician with.

It wouldn’t be level 13 since level 12 is the max normal level for monsters (I know we have rank 13 Xyz monsters but they’re the exception and are only accessed via Rank Up spells). ATK’s too high too. It would probably be around 4000 at the highest, but who knows.
The deck just needs better normal summons its so weak to imperm or just a link 1 to make the end board consistent. Regardless REALLY cool deck to play with your friends but by no means is this decks tier anything close to wining something significant.

So sad Yugi’s deck isn’t even close to the best deck released in Legacy of Destruction. Tenpai, Melodious, even decks that got slight support in Yubel and Centurion are better. But counter part Blue eyes already has talks of meta relevant before release
I remember a few years ago I was lamenting how archetypes have warped the game and eventually we'll just get to the point where we'd have a King of Games archetype that connects a bunch of otherwise barely-related monsters and cards together but only if you play other King of Games cards, and Shining Sarcophagus is basically that archetype.
Okay, I can't finish the video. The structure of the video can definitely be better cause it just goes in loops, trying to link one combo to another to make it smooth. But it just jumps from card to card to card to card and referencing the same thing As someone who knows the cards, it's alright, sorta. I can understand everything but it's annoying. If it's someone who don't know the cards, they will be pausing to read every now and then.

Please make a “failed cards, etc.” video on Naturia! Or the seal of orichalcos arc cards! Also, how about a “top 10 cards NEVER restricted in any way, but were widely considered to be hit on a banlist” (ex. Dante)

I only watched this video to see what strategies I can do but the moment he mentioned Dark Dragoon I immediately threw the entire video out the window. Not my fault that card is still banned in master duel. I guess I will just have to get creative on what card to fuse the Dark Magician with.

Idea for a “Dark Magician” and “Summoned Skull” fusion to how along with the S.S archetype:

It wouldn’t be level 13 since level 12 is the max normal level for monsters (I know we have rank 13 Xyz monsters but they’re the exception and are only accessed via Rank Up spells). ATK’s too high too. It would probably be around 4000 at the highest, but who knows.
The deck just needs better normal summons its so weak to imperm or just a link 1 to make the end board consistent. Regardless REALLY cool deck to play with your friends but by no means is this decks tier anything close to wining something significant.

I could see a Joey Wheeler deck with a similar card named something like "Guaranteed Gamble" to play into his dice-rolling, coin-flipping theme
So sad Yugi’s deck isn’t even close to the best deck released in Legacy of Destruction. Tenpai, Melodious, even decks that got slight support in Yubel and Centurion are better. But counter part Blue eyes already has talks of meta relevant before release
I remember a few years ago I was lamenting how archetypes have warped the game and eventually we'll just get to the point where we'd have a King of Games archetype that connects a bunch of otherwise barely-related monsters and cards together but only if you play other King of Games cards, and Shining Sarcophagus is basically that archetype.
The title should add, "Future Banned cards". Also Konami made a broken Black Magician deck....shocking. Now they need to make E-hero Neos playable

Okay, I can't finish the video. The structure of the video can definitely be better cause it just goes in loops, trying to link one combo to another to make it smooth. But it just jumps from card to card to card to card and referencing the same thing
As someone who knows the cards, it's alright, sorta. I can understand everything but it's annoying.

EXcept there is no retrain of Curse of Dragon in the Deck.
