I noticed how you're not saying the meta of the current season in the gameplay. You're saying mobility item instead of shockwaves for example. I'm watching this video for the first time, n now we're in chapter 5 season 1. So your choice of words made this video timeless because no matter what season you watch this. It will still makes sense, be valuable and won't confuse others....You are truly the ultimate Fortnite professor. Thanks for your hard work, I can tell that you put in in. 💪🔥👍👍🎮
This vid was fantastic, as usual I have learned a new trick or two! Great commentary and insight, it gave me a better thought process and has taught me that it is ok to knock and reposition instead of always trying to get the kill. My duos partner always seem to thirst the knocked players instead of focusing on the actual threat which is the person with the gun shooting at us. I loved this type of vid showing your thought process through an entire match, keep'em coming.
Yeah, I see a lot of new players go for the thirst instead of focusing on the danger, which often ends in disaster. They knocked enemies will be thirsted automatically when the team is wiped! Haha. Only thirst if you are safe :)
Thank you so much for this legend of a video, got lil more learning from more situations. I've won solo vs squads in build mode thanks to hammer meta due to ganking in buildings n knockback n no fall damage glitch few patches ago. also using deku smash n its knockback is worth it. For none of these it's harder but if u get lucky exploiting their conflicts n lucky then there is chance u can make it.
Awesome tips. Definitely going to use them. I don't use distance and always go in and start fighting. My load outs are long range rifle, AR, shotgun, no metas, a heal and mobility. Thank you so much.
Beautiful work. Absolutely beautiful. 🙏 It’s nice seeing people play the game with their wits instead of full sending everything. The way games are meant to be played 👌
i won a single solo squads in my life, back in chapter 1. I hadnt meant to queue into squads but just wanted to try for the hell of it. Hid most of the game and killed the last two as they healed.
Love this! I just recently discovered solo vs duo/trio/squads and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Lots of great tips here - I never realized crowns ping @ storm changes. Do you know how SBMM is affected with solo vs squads? Most of the time it feels like the individual skill level of the other team members is slightly lower than wherever I'm at, which helps offset being outnumbered. But occasionally I'll get wrecked by sweats so I wasn't sure if SBMM is any different than something like BR solos
Thanks Chase. Yep, everytime the storm closes or you get a kill, the crown pings - which I think is a great mechanic, gives some risk for the reward haha... even if the reward is just a worthless brownie point. Really not sure how SBMM works for solos vs Squads. I think squads is generally easier across the board because less sweaty players play it. Most sweats prefer solos or duos because it's more competitive, and maybe also because they don't socialize much 😄. I think it also really depends on the time of day you play, these players were pretty mid because this was a late night game in my timezone. Surprised I didn't see a single bot though!
Give it a go... sometimes it can be demoralizing if you run into some sweaty squads, but most of the time it can also teach you a lot about maintaining proper spacing from enemies, as well as baiting tactics, etc.
@@TobyWanShinobi I actually tried it tonight and got 8th place. I believe I would have placed higher if I hadn't messed up with the ODM and landed in the wrong place. Using what you suggested upped my game big time (doubled my usual kills) but I wasn't able to maneuver fast enough to defend myself or escape. I'll definitely try again. It was super fun watching people react.
@@GregCook68 Nice! 8th is good for a solo :) Yeah, in solo vs squads you REALLY need to be hyper aware of the very thin line between having an advantage and being dead haha. You always have to have an escape plan and stay a step ahead of the enemy.
And in the current state of the game (no katanas) solos vs squads is harder because you can't stack extra mobility... pretty much everyone has the same mobility so it makes it extra difficult to get out of bad situations.
you are great for all these tips and tricks your sharing. ive been waiting for a long time for one pf these videos but the streamers i watch kinda of wandered away from this . the game is constantly changing. thank you bro your have me intrigued
I just found your channel. I like your content-very practical. I am not ready for solo squads but I do play duos as a solo. Thanks for your insights and tips!!!
Haha happens to the best of us. Probably need more combat experience. I recommend the red vs blue creative map that I linked at the top of the comments in my "Advanced Combat Movement" video. Generally freakouts like that are just a sign that you aren't confident in combat.
great tips man :) but endgame you made big mistake that could cost you. You said at 20:40 there is no heals when it was chest right in front, probably something in small house and barrels on the further left. There was enough time to use them when other team fought each other
@@TobyWanShinobi ikr. Bro I want to email you this replay 😂 I literally got down to 2 health rebooted my son thrice and pulled a W. And rifted a truck that was playing Metallica 🤣. Watching Sypher react to fearless and I am dying. Only been playing three months and these are so 🤣😂🤣😆
And what should you do if they come at you with the ODM or Spider the second they see or hear you, because this is what every team is doing for me, the come to close range almost instantly
Try shooting them out and if that doesn't work, leave immediately. You need to keep good distance from the majority of them. If one chases you alone, then take the fight while they are separated from their team. Eliminate them, thirst them, then move again to confuse the remaining enemies on where you are located.
Generally the root of the issue stems from the start of the fight. Try to eliminate one on their own quickly. You shouldn't be starting a fight that you can't finish, so reposition and look for a new opportunity until you can. If the enemy team is all near eachother and not distracted, you probably have no chance of winning it.
@@larissa0671 Sorry Larissa... Fortnite can definitely be rage inducing and make you want to quit. Which is totally fine, a break is healthy. This happens to me on stream sometimes - I just get unlucky / mess up over and over again and its pretty depressing lol... Especially when I have 30+ people watching me. The little voice in the back of my head starts saying "your a joke. Why would they want to watch you. Are you stupid?" etc. etc. So I know how it feels. But if you WANT to improve at the game (which is ok if you don't want to) - you gotta pick yourself up and try to learn from your loss. Break it down, try to understand why you lost. Sometimes its just bad luck, but most of the time you could have done something differently and maybe you just have to improve at a certain aspect. As soon as you learn what you need to improve on, you can start working on that particular skill. Hope that helps!
I went solo vs a Sweaty Squad yesterday in Zerobuild…I Won and thought I had recorded it but before the fight I had ended a recording and after the fight I started a recording😂 Would have been a great YT video for my Channel

As for content idea what do u think about subscribers sending u their gameplay and u pretty much give feedback on what u like or disliked about their gameplay? Keep up the great work man i hope to see u grow!👊
This video is very similar, and I found the tips to be very useful, but I would love to see you make a “guide to carrying!” A couple of my buddies downloaded the game, and we’re getting put into pretty decently skilled lobbies. I just can’t keep up while they learn! Could use some tips from the GOAT, TobyWanShinobi. Just a suggestion for a future video, thanks for your hard work man!
Stay with them (keep an eye on them at all times) and ask them to constantly communicate their movements. Just keep asking them "where are you guys? What are you carrying?" And then keep saying stuff like "keep close - danger near" etc etc. Ask for help often, even if you don't need it so they get used to moving with teammates and team shotting. Try not to flank too much because when they are new they go down quick and doesn't give you enough time to get the right angle before it becomes a 4v1.
Thanks so much! I’ll keep be sure to try these out. Especially asking for help, I think that’ll get them much more practice in than what we’ve been doing. Looking forward to the next upload!
Forgot to mention, never let a team get behind you when they know your location. Keep the enemies in front of you!
